Great Continuous Learning for Growing and Distributed Companies

  • August 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pluralsight has been an amazing platform for ensuring our technical workforces have the opportunity to continuously learn, ramp up and reskill as appropriate, and keeping content constantly updated.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some topics and courses we would love to see addressed in the platform, particularly topics in the realm of general best practice and philosophy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We leverage fewer highly paid internal experts to train people internally, leaving them space to work and focus on coaching through implementation. We also send fewer people to external training events which allows us to focus on other opportunities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a well rounded rollout plan to ensure that you get appropriate levels of adoption. Also, be imaginative about how to best leverage Pluralsight for your workforce. It can be used as a means of predicting future technology use, reskilling, providing feedback about employees' capability.

What do you like best about the product?
That it is an active product that very often release new features to assist you in learning, bookmarks, the best feature for me it is the board and invite colleagues to participate in the board
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be hard to find something but as soon as you load a video it is marked as viewed and this is not necessary true.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to move our application to another technology and tools, the courses were easy to find and follow in order to do this at the business
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the trial of Microsoft dev essentials

Great resource for learning at your own pace

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can speed up or slow down the video however you like, and you can take notes directly on the website as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish more videos had accurate closed captioning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pluralsight helps me learn about topics that I would otherwise not have time to learn about in person - by taking the course online, I can learn when it's convenient for me.

Great Content and Always Improving

  • August 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create channels and assign them to my team. I get to see what they are training on and ensure they are staying on the track that was prescribed. I also have the ability to see who is using the platform and how long they are training. This is invaluable for someone like me who is traveling and manages teams across the country
What do you dislike about the product?
One feature I would like to see is alerting. Prescribe a certain channel or track and set a due date. Project based upon time already trained (progress) versus time remaining to complete. Send an alert to the team member as well as their manager if it looks like they will not complete in time. This will prompt a discussion for remediation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of having to train my team myself, or have more senior staff train them I can prescribe their training. This frees up my valuable time and the time of other team members. In business terms I have a greater opportunity cost. The freed up time and cost to have a team member train allows them do accomplish other business objectives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take note of the different plans available. The team analytics are a HUGE feature to have if you manage teams and will make your life a lot easier when it comes to managing training.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of finding videos, I like you can adjust the speed, that the content is organized and there are transcripts to follow along with. It makes searching for specific concepts for a topic easy without needing to watch an entire tutorial.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have many dislikes about PluralSight.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have learned new languages, technology and concepts like github, docker, React, Javascript, and more. These courses are helpful for onboarding new associates because we can focus on higher level learning in person.

What do you like best about the product?
The content provided in the Pluralsight and as well as the there are vast number of courses for everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the content needs to be updated time to time and new technologies should be added before other competitors does that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I prefer Pluralsight in learning the tools and technologies that I use to accomplish my daily tasks.

What a great learning platform!

  • August 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that they've taken streaming video content and expanded it to a comprehensive learning platform. I'm hopeful that roleiq will be used for good and not force ranking companies engineering talent.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are aspects of roleiq that make my skin crawl. I think it's a great tool for an individual to see where they're skills could be improved in relation to their responsibilities. But I think it's only a matter of time before this data makes its way into compensation decision making.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The courses are broken into amazingly small chunks that are easy to use to fill small bits of downtime. I also love the way paths can help a learner stay focused on specific topic

Great content, could due with some updated material

  • August 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The videos, the supplemental material, all great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The assessments are not truly representative.

Content is could use updating. Ex: If I search for iOS development/Swift is a rapidly changing area and Pluralsight's content hasn't been updated in over a year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pluralsight made getting spun up on Ruby on Rails a breeze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In general the material they have is great, just evaluate if your needs are covered by their offerings first.
