Endless content and options to stay sharp
What do you like best about the product?
The variety and depth of content. There is a good variation of beginner level material all the way through advanced. I like the UI and dark theme. Seems minor but it makes the site more enjoyable to use and easier to stay focused for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some content is pretty outdated. With tech, things can change very rapidly of course. This no doubt makes it difficult to make a new course for every version of something. The most severe cases of this can make courses less helpful. For example a 6 year old jQuery fundamentals course is probably pushing it. Sometimes It is hard to tell the difference between learning paths and individual courses. As in, it can seem like courses are contained only within learning paths, but that is not the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compared to competitors I can get more specific topics and choices, and can find them more easily. For example on LinkedIn learning, I feel like I have to filter through what appear to be near copies of the same course but they are actually slightly different. This is very unhelpful and I like that Pluralsight is more streamlined and specific.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try setting a learning path and sticking to it. It is easy to bounce around when there is so much content available. Also I've found it helpful to find some shorter courses to buffer in between longer ones. Pick times where you can focus solely on the training as opposed to having distractions or passively "watching" while doing other things.
Ive used pluralsight professionally for two years.
What do you like best about the product?
The tutorials are in well spoken and they are very knowledgeable of the materials presented at the time of the tutorial release.
What do you dislike about the product?
Older 3D material may not be up to date, be aware that some old practices are not valid anymore
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rendering in Arnold Renderer in Maya.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a great tool, just make sure you listen to the intro videos to make sure its what you're looking for.
The best platform for developing technical skills. Period.
What do you like best about the product?
I've been a Pluralsight user in several of my jobs, and each time I'm required to develop a new skill Pluralsight is the first stop for me. The quality of the content is what brings me back - it's more than just showing HOW to do something, it's often an explanation of WHY to do something a certain way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure the best way to suggest new content topics or learning tracks. Perhaps a more prominent "Suggestions" section would help curate the content in new directions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recently I've had to do development in both R and Power BI. Coming from a background of Tableau and limited experience with Python, I wanted to approach these skills with fresh eyes and do my best to avoid biases towards the skills I already had. The courses offered in both new skills were very clearly laid out and gave me a ground-up approach that was effective at highlighting what set the tools apart.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are plenty of ways to study tools and develop new skills, but Pluralsight presents them in a simple, curated way and at a higher quality than I've found anywhere else. Their learning tracks and comprehension tests are really effective methods for developing your skillset in the direction YOU want it to go, and it's proven helpful time and time again for me.
I love Pluralsight!
What do you like best about the product?
The videos themselves are really great quality. I'm a C# .net web developer, and I learned a lot that has already helped me in my job. Also, there are a ton of videos ranging in all different topics, so I can teach myself additional skills for the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. If I had to nitpick, I think some of the presenters talk slow, but I can easily fix that by speeding up the video.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to implemented a Umbraco 7 website, but only had experience with Umbraco 4. The pluralsight courses on umbraco helped a lot. Also, I had to use Entity Framework, and some more advanced LINQ, and once again, Pluralsight gave me the insight I needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it! You won't regret it.
A great resource
What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely easy to use and navigate. I like that you can measure you're skills so you can focus on the skills you need to improve most and not spend lots of time on an area that you are already very experienced in. The learning paths are great so you don't have to find the different courses/ videos yourself, you just do the courses in the order suggested and you can skip through sections you don't need to do . The interactive parts of the courses are really useful for getting hands on practice
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be good if there were more interactive courses as it can be challenging at times to spend hours watching videos to learn something. Quizzes at the end of courses to test knowledge would be useful to reinforce the learning and to guage how much of the course you understand and what you might need to look over again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an apprentice I have a lot to learn so Pluralsight has been great in giving me an insight into lots of different areas such as Testing with CodedUI, SQL, CSS and HTML and C# as well as networking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a really useful tool with tonnes of info on loads of different topics. It's very easy to use and easy to find suitable courses. Most topics have several different topics so if you don't like the style of one you can pick another.
Insightful and Inspiring
What do you like best about the product?
I love the detail and enthusiasm that a lot of the authors show in there subject matter. They give great insight and real world scenarios to there subject matter too which helps people relate to the courses. I also love the Pluralsight IQ where you can measure your knowledge and experience and share that on social networks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't really anything I can think of, maybe setting a cut off date for course. Found myself watching odd courses then finding they were done in 2014 and technology has moved on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well i'm moving from more technical testing roles into more lower management roles things like test management, scrum master and the insight provided has been invaluable.
A great place of knowledge
What do you like best about the product?
The interactive activities are the key when you are learning a technical course
What do you dislike about the product?
Some courses do not have the option to see the subtitles
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has been an important asset in the modernization initiative
Professional Cloud Architect
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way the videos are very straightforward and easy to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There may be way to many videos for some of these subjects that are in Pluralsight.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not been able to use the training since I am an Analyst working my way to an Architect position in our company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good site for learning about different products and easy to follow. Highly recommend.
Great site to refresh and grow your IT/ software / design skills
What do you like best about the product?
I love the courses I attended, I was able to grow my software knowledge, learn new technologies. The teachers I learned from were responsive, there is a discussion option where you can ask questions. For me the C# and the web courses were the most useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I used subtitles sometimes, and it didn't match : ex JQuery was written as "Jake worry" It didn't bother me that much but I think it can be confusing for someone who solely relies on the subtitles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to learn & implement new web technologies I am currently using at work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend to anyone who want to learn new programming it or design skills.
Very comprehensive, professional and easily understandable videos
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to search for a course in a particular technology. The app is awesome too. Whatever is not completed in the desktop can be continued during my journey back home while in the train.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need more courses in few technologies. Need to cater more towards professional certification exam preparations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an easy access website and app is very user friendly. I'm able to spend more time learning courses here than on Youtube which I used to use earlier.
