Outstanding Enterprise Architecture Solution
What do you like best about the product?
The combination of the best practices that allow you to deliver value fast and the freedom to model any kind of component and its relationship, allowing you to bring any business or technical architecture challenge to Ardoq
What do you dislike about the product?
While the presentation function is great to share life-url's of the data in Ardoq with any possible stakeholder audience, I wish there would also be a stronger export function to PowerPoint? Adjusting how you want to export, like the form and positioning on a page, would be a great feature to create insightful slides with Ardoq data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Ardoq to create application and integration baselines. For customers we have implemented application lifecycle and we are in the middle of a setup where we want to bring the full business and strategic elements, from business model to objectives to capabilities in Ardoq. By far the largest value is the speed to outcome, by using Ardoq you can very quickly create insights in both business and technical elements of any kind of business
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Ardoq when you are looking for a Enterprise Architecture tool. The best thing to learn the power of the tool is by using it. So I would recommend to consider to ask for a trial period and with any level of maturity in Enterprise or subject matter architecture you can deliver results.
A great tool with huge future potential
What do you like best about the product?
The Ardoq team provide great support, it's easy to derive value very quickly in terms of EA outcomes and the flexibility of the tools offers endless possibilities for creating new models to capture information and drive out insights. Data driven visualisations provide instant interactive presentations for direct review with all stakeholders from C suite to architects. The vendor is highly responsive in answering questions, addressing concerns, assisting with modeling and reporting to enable you to as productive as possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike other than some organisational scalability niggles which are being addressed. The fact we use the tool across 40 plus countries provides some challenges around managing data and country level models, but these are being addressed through improvements in functionality. New functionality around user group management has eased some of the access management overhead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using ardoq for application baselining, future state modeling, EA benefits realization, EA management reporting, application lifecycle management, standards adherence, project identification for consolidation and risk and cost reduction, M&A due diligence tracking and reporting, architecture management and KPI reporting. We are also using the tool as our single source of truth for all EA related work and the survey functionality combined with dashboards ensures that all countries are engaged and responsive to EA activities.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and surveys are great for populating data. Once data is in can then easily represent data in a number of different ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to get used to using the eye perspective
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to see all interfaces and infrastructure used by applications so can troubleshoot easily. Can get different diagrams from the data suitable for different audiences.
Ardoq supports you building up your EA capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Ardoq is our first experience of using an EA tool, we have previously relied on spreadsheets to manage resource catalogues and Visio, Word, etc to generate visualizations and working documents. It' s been pretty straightforward to upload data directly from our spreadsheets into Ardoq and start working with it straight away. It has a rich set of visualizations out of the box, which can be captured and exported as dynamic presentations. It provides survey functionality as a way to get SMEs to review and update information without them having to interact directly with the application, and there's some nice dashboard features to let you know where there are gaps in the data . There is a lot of support and help available online to get you past any problems and working, the customer experience is very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ardoq has quite a busy user interface, as a new user it can take a while to get familiar and comfortable with the navigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've started with Application Portfolio Management and we're using Ardoq to build a reliable understanding of our estate, and tackling the traditional areas of rationalization and consolidation. Current area of interest is in using Ardoq inform our cloud migration strategy. Going forward we intend to use Ardoq to build up our EA capabilities around strategic decision making and roadmapping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ardoq has a very flexible metamodel. Our experience has been that it's relatively straightforward to get up and running quickly from existing resources like spreadsheet catalogues and lists provided you're clear around the questions you want to ask of your data.

What do you like best about the product?
There are many things I like about Ardoq. You can manage it by having only a few admin users and then obtain data by offering intuitive surveys to all other employees in the company.
As Ardoq provides a unique overview of what a company does and offers, it provides the opportunity to present this in many insightful ways.
Since it is data driven, it is easy to maintain as all changes can be updated in one place.
Ardoq also has a very good support which is absolutely crucial to get the job done.

What do you dislike about the product?
I can't see that there is something I actually do not like, but Ardoq is a large system and for some it can be time consuming to learn it. But the advantage then is that only a few need to be admin users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are working with getting a good overview and connection between products, services, capabilities, customers, product owners, product experts, etc. The benefit of all these connections is that you can tell different kind of stories depending on the context and who you are addressing. In this way, you will be able to share useful information with all employees in the company and with all customers.
Ardoq is helping to transform the value proposition of EA
What do you like best about the product?
Ardoq can model and organise anything! It's great for letting stakeholders self-serve on current-state landscape and impact analysis. It really is a one-stop shop for keeping track of EA, Enterprise risk, process portfolio management. The company is incredibly responsive - with support built into the product itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because you can do anything ten different ways, you really have to focus on standards - consistent setup and helpful ways to get data in. Ardoq helps e.g. Excel input, UI, Surveys, API. But be aware that not everyone will gravitate towards using the main UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ardoq keeps track of my architecture development plans, business and technical capability catalogues, technology lifecycle, application catalogue, roles and business organisation maps, and our integration and system landscape - without relying on manual drawing and diagramming. The benefit is huge as it lets you drive value out of your models rather than having them sit stagnant in a traditional repository. And we're working towards improving this further by automagically bringing in information from the live environment (service deployments, people & role etc) - so that your EA is just there in front of you. It essentially lets us punch above our weight (so to speak) by letting our EA's focus on value delivery to stakeholders rather than keeping diagrams up-to-date.

Make sure you go all in with onboarding rather than just one or two in a team.

What do you like best about the product?
Ardoq has the unique ability to make the complex and unknowable into simple and known. Not only that, it provides a platform of business knowledge that allows one to make strategic decisions that are no longer based on guess work and hope.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI has a somewhat high learning curve. This isn't a problem as most users will interact with the presentations or surveys.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are mapping our complex organisation in terms of who works here, on what do they work, what does the thing that they work on actually do...and which customers actually use or want to use these things.
We started quite unambitious, but after getting more experience with Ardoq we have continued to add scope that gives exponential value.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have an organisation that struggles to know what assets it has...in terms of employee expertise, company product portfolio, customer product usage etc...then Ardoq is the tool for you.
