Hatica is best out there
What do you like best about the product?
1. Comparison with competitors - In my previous lives as a full stack developer at multiple banking MNCs, I have been a user/stakeholder of multiple such tools which measure developer productivity. Eg.- Harness, Pluralsight Flow and Waydev. All these are good tools but I feel they are developed keeping in mind that an organisation already functions in a certain manner. They don't factor in the maturity level a tech organisation is at. Hatica on the other hand I feel will fit in perfectly with TATA 1mg's engineering culture.
2. Actionable insights - Looking at Hatica, I know on what metrics my team is not meeting industry standards. If these metrics are important to me I can take immediate action to remedy this.
3. Bird's eye view - Aggregating data out of multiple sources like bitbucket, jira etc. and collating them together definitely has its value add.
4. Quick and motivating feedback loop - Once I identify a bottleneck and take measures to remedy it, I can see in real time how that metric improves. This works as a motivating factor to further improve our efforts.
5. Developer metrics - Industry is in split whether we should measure individual dev's productivity or not. Hatica does provide a feature called "Developer summary". I like this specifically because I use these insights to provide actionable feedback to my devs during our 1:1s. It is powerful and satisfying to see a developer improve their metrics upon these feedbacks.
5. Fast and Intuitive UI - It requires pulling a good amount of data from stores and applying transformations to it in order to render the intuitive graphs Hatica renders. Despite this, Hatica is fast. Pluralsight Flow used to be excruciatingly slow.

What do you dislike about the product?
Notification/reporting system can be better. I observed a few bugs in email reports I get. Sometimes there is no data in those reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Immediate course correction. Example - I observed below average maker time for my developers. I immediately asked them to=
a) Chunk meetings together for a day.
b) Pre-plan meetings and always have an agenda.
c) Use async mode of communication as the first choice.
2. Hatica provides me with objective data that I can use during 1:1 discussions with my reportees.

Data driven insights on your engineering activities
What do you like best about the product?
Got an objective metrics-driven approach to measure engineering effectiveness. Easy to integrate and use. Was up and running in a few days, and got insights quickly. The dashboards bring several key metrics into a single pane of glass.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some level of organisational unlearning might be required if you see metrics that do not make sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Takes out the guesswork concerning engineering effectiveness. Engineers can focus on what they do best. Metrics can drive process optimisation.
Sprint retro is now powered by Hatica
What do you like best about the product?
Before, running sprint retros relied entirely on the managers giving anecdotal points that stood out to them. Bigger issue was, how we fared against the previous sprint was not known with accuracy. Hatica’s cycle time dashboard gave our managers the power to report numbers and how these numbers are trending every sprint. This helped us streamline our git workflows and now most of the deadlines are being met.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support for draft PRs is something that’s in the pipeline for a few months now. And all configs can only be done by speaking with their customer success team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having data points on how our teams are doing has helped us see progress with our existing teams instead of hiring a lot more
Simple and Effective tool for Dev Productivity analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Running lean teams comes with tight deadlines and overwork. We started using activity log dashboards and cycle time dashboards. These helped us look at work allocation in a better way and saw that there were imbalances. Fixing those helped us move onto how long we spend on development and deployment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since they are an evolving platform, there can be a few unpolished edges here and there
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
hands off management of lean engineering teams and making sure people are not overworked and burned out
We’re cleaning up our Jira process using Hatica
What do you like best about the product?
The speed of releases - we have seen 3 major features release within 3 weeks, all while helping us adopt Jira dashboards. The dashboards helped us find where to implement a better Jira process and proceed with that.
What do you dislike about the product?
The colour schemes are different across different dashboards, and some colours are used in the wrong methods - this led to some confusion
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Each team here have their own jira process. Some are doing very well while others are not. We needed a platform to standardize processes and track metrics that are reliable, used by others in the industry, and set common metrics across teams.
Basic tool, but works as advertised. Great customer service.
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use and the built-in dashboards are generally helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some configuration needs to be handled by talking to customer solutions (i.e. removing users).
It would be better to see the underlying source data that's pulled from issue tracking (i.e. GH) to build trust in the analytics
It would be better to see the underlying source data that's pulled from issue tracking (i.e. GH) to build trust in the analytics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking velocity metrics around development team speed (i.e. pull request pick up, cycle time) as well as monitoring engineers and creating apples-to-apples comparison metrics for activity.
Single dashboard to analyse the developer productivity
What do you like best about the product?
It has become a single access place to analyze the productivity and efficiency of all the developers across platforms. I was able to cut down on the meeting times leading to improved efficiency, thanks to Hatica.
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably better insights on a sprint basis would be more helpful to analyze the gaps in the planning aspects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was not able to analyze previously the reasons behind the delayed timelines and the decreasing productivity of certain developers. Hatica helped me to analyze them in an objective manner.
Gained visibility into the realities of the engineering team to bridge the gap
What do you like best about the product?
Hatica cycle time dashboard provided us with a clear view of our bottleneck, allowing our team to address issues and improve development speed significantly. This trickled down into a lot of side benefits including better sprint delivery.
The new goals feature has been instrumental in helping us improve our engineering practices in real time. Our team now uses Hatica goals to ensure that all our targets are met.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some of their filters are slightly tedious to use. It requires selecting repos and people manually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hatica provides visibility and allows us to increase our delivery velocity.
Reasonably priced, Gives us everything for a developer analytics product
What do you like best about the product?
Great product at a reasonable price. Developer analytics products have been so expensive and was a hinderance to adopt. Hatica software has been able to give everything and more at a price I could get easy approval for. Product is very useful to track end-to-end workflows and pave the path to engineering excellence
What do you dislike about the product?
No public roadmap so we don’t know what's coming up or the timeline about the features them mentioned. I understand that features can take time but giving us a rough timeline would help us plan adoption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a fully featured developer analytics product for tracking end-to-end workflows. Every tool that we came across had some issue. Either it was pretty expensive or lacked some feature. Finally we came across Hatica. It has all the key features and that too at reasonable prices. It's a plus plus.
Reduced my effort drastically in managing my engineering team
What do you like best about the product?
We like to run a lean and agile engineering team where time consuming processes like standups are automated and correlated with the actual work pushed. We didn’t know we needed this combination till we started using Hatica and since then we’ve been able to not only double our TAT but also give visibility to our Product and consumer facing teams
What do you dislike about the product?
Their recent UI updates are not as polished as we would like them to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to have stand ups run asynchronously, see that data in the activity log in relation to the actual work being pushed has proved to be an effective tool in reducing our time in managing the team
