What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
I use it to demonstrate to customers because I'm a sales engineer. Many customers want to protect their workloads and applications.
For example, when I am using a Docker image with multiple vulnerabilities, I need to know which vulnerabilities are inside. Then I create security policies to allow or deny the deployment of containers from this image and also create a security policy for runtime. This way, when the application is running in the wild, we can guarantee that the security blocks any kind of exploitation.
What is most valuable?
There are many features that I really like. For example, the runtime policies are very easy to configure, and they are scalable across all environments. The DTA, which stands for Dynamic Threat Analysis, allows me to analyze Docker images in a sandbox environment before deployment, helping me anticipate risks.
What needs improvement?
The user interface could be improved, especially in terms of organization and clarity. Additionally, more comprehensive examples for deployments and feature usage would be helpful.
Maybe more plugins or something that makes it easier to integrate with CICD pipelines or interact with APIs.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using it for about three years. I'm using the SaaS version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.

For me, it's a fair price.
What other advice do I have?
I would definitely recommend using the solution. It's a very scalable solution with multiple features that help us protect our cloud environment effectively.

AquaSec is intuitive, ideal security tool in the industry
What do you like best about the product?
We recently integrated Aquasec with our client in Azure DevOps for supply chain security, IAC scanning, and Workload protection to identify and resolve the identified vulnerabilities. I liked the tool for its intuitiveness. everything is detailed in the portal with an explanation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it would be ideal for someone to procure the tool and deploy it in the easiest way possible. Probably provide an end-end workflow suggesting to the customer that fits their use case instead of identifying what they want. Let the customer know this is the best way to do it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We helped our client assess Aqua Security's capabilities in the different security areas for their requirements. They recently procured the tool, and we integrated it with their Azure DevOps for performing SCA, SAST and IAC scanning. It is helping to identify the vulnerabilities and strengthen the shift left security approach. This integration is helping them identify vulnerabilities early in the development cycle, enabling faster remediation and reducing the potential impact of security incidents in their production environments.

it is solving any hidden vulnerabilities and removing the risk of a security breach

What do you like best about the product?
It provides a complete solution for container security. I can scan images in my pipeline, in the registry, and at runtime. Therefore for product teams it become easy to shift the security left.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think every image scan by Aqua should be considered as registered image. At this point, I do not see the need to separating images based on where they are scanned.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aqua provides a complete container security solution to us. Using Aqua, we are ensuring that only compliant images get deployed in our runtime environment. It enforces policies and restricts users by disallowing deployment for vulnerable image.

What do you like best about the product?
It's ease of deployment, nice UI, CI/CD integration options available, good dashboard and one of the key features for us would be Kubernetes security feature which is not there in a lot of other commercial tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing model is probably in line with Aquasec's long term plan but they should also consider some short term/low volume pricing models for clients who want to try container security before deciding for a long term full fledged solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Container security on a CI/CD pipeline, kubernetes cluster based security. Planning to use it for CSPM and IAC in upcoming future.

What do you like best about the product?
After some growing pains, due to the size of our organization and the number of images we scan, it has been easy to implement docker image scanning into our build process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some feature improvements that were often necessary for us to utilize portions of Aqua, took longer than expected and communicated to be completed. We had a request where we even included the source code changes that were needed from Aqua, and it still took almost 3 full quarters for the request to be completed. It felt like we understood the inner workings of that portion of the scan tool than their tech team and it was hard to have them understand the needed change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the bigger problems that Aqua has solved is the visibility that it provides us into the vulnerabilities that we have as we build docker images. We are even able to block builds from producing docker images to our artifact registry if they do not meet vulnerability requirements.

I value the solution in terms of helping our teams detect and manage risks with images, containers and modern infrastructure platforms, because it is helping our organization perform DevSecOps
What do you dislike about the product?
The following makes it a real challenge to 'LOVE' this product:
1) APIs are not as useful as they should be
2) API documentation is old/stale and does not make it easy to leverage the APIs
3) Not having any meaningful, native, reporting solution is a real let down - especially when it is difficult to know how to access and leverage the data outside of Aqua
4) There seems to be functionality missing that I think the product team would better understand the value for if they were talking to their users more often
