What do you like best about the product?
It is fast and gives real time data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It usually gets hanged and you will be stuck until it starts again

It gives the real time data. You can import and export big files easily.

What do you like best about the product?
New visualizations, better UI, modern graphics, easily customizable front end.
What do you dislike about the product?
Separate locations for administration functions. Fly out screens often truncate data.

Better user acceptance due to modern UI.

Not initially intuitive, it takes training and time to get used to

What inventory is overstocked in my warehouse. Which of my warehouses are most efficient, can we put warehouse managers together to share processes based on looking at similar data.

What do you like best about the product?
The product give users the ability to do deep dives into their data and gain insights that were previously very hard to find

When a software bug is found it is hard to get the proper support for the problem

Better ability to plan for future distribution of products and ability to track productivity of DC;s
Comprehensive Analytics & Reporting Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way IBM has unified its reporting tools with a dashboarding, reporting, and modeling interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Errors that are generated could be better-explained.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Cognos Analytics on-prem, we're using a governed central source of truth (single FM model off of an EDW for back-office data) to combine information from several areas in our Oracle data used in a wide array of reports.
Great things in new release

portability from dashboard to reports. interactivty with the end user. data exploration. ease if use. data interactivity

current product visualizations 11.0.7 do not render well to pdf. Inconsistent colors.

The advances that are coming are great. looking forwarx to upgrading

Cognos enables team collaboration, putting people in the same room from Sales person, business Analyst to PM

Data import/cleaning/filtering is a bit limited compared to Excel features...

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Starting using Watson Analytics until I realized Cognos was a way more advanced product, with better capabilities. If you ve been using Watson and beeing frustrated, move to Cognos

What do you like best about the product?
If you have the opportunity I would recommend you joining one of the Cognos Analytic conventions through IBM. Learning more about the tool and future releases planned will help you and your leaders make more insightful decisions for the future of your organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looking forward for more enhancements on graphical representation of the data and story telling. AI enhancements are just starting and I look forward to seeing where you take it.

What do you like best about the product?
Our Cognos environment is easy to use and provides a rich mix of operational and analytical reporting to our end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I really dislike. We moved forward with using Qlik as our dashboarding tool because a few years back the CA dashboarding was not as mature as we would have liked it and we were not in a position to upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We provide a mix of reports which allow the business to plan for production, inventory, materials and capacity. We also provide a rich set of sales reports which allows our sales team to track where they are relative to plan.
Review of CA 11 on Prem
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the anticipation of new features to review with every quarter release. While my organization may not adopt each release, it is exciting to see where the product is moving and the needs IBM is seeking to serve.
What do you dislike about the product?
On prem upgrade from 10.2.2 to 11.0.10 was not smooth. We had numerous issues show up after a go-live upgrade which did not manifest during our year-long testing. After several consultations with IBM, a few of the remaining major issues have still not been addressed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are still working to get back to a parity position of functionality between our 10.2.2 environment and 11.0.x and have not been able to fully explore new features.

Wait until 11.1.
