A great solution for your Analytical findings.
What do you like best about the product?
It has integration with with other IBM products like business intelligence. Easy to access and gives you required insights. I love working with this tool from IBM. It allows some SQL language, and some configuration features that are very good too. The user interface is pretty good. Easily integrating with most of the ERPs, very good for customizing reports, very detailed reporting. I was able to develop reports in report studio that gave the user the ability to pick what type of report they wanted (YTD, YTD vs LYTD, MTD, etc.). It has modules that help both end users and report writers. Cognos Analytics provides a high degree of governance and automation which facilitates the delivery of information in a mid size organisation. The current version also offers flexibility for new data exploration and analytics. The product does everything we need it to do, from governed reporting to self-service dashboards using governed sets of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating reports is overwhelming at the beginning, and deployments is a thing that needs to be worked on. Interactive pdf is not available for reports.Tough to learn & not many resources available, you will get the value of the money invested in it only if you are able to get the most out of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating report is one of the best complete solution for delivering insights from data at enterprise level, worked on multiple domains. Bulk migrations between environments can be completed easily and upgrades are accomplished in-place with no issues.

Best tool for analytical domain, be it any domain works as per requirements.

It can be used quickly. Cognos Analytics also offers an unlimited overview of the entire data storage facility of the enterprise and adds values to the data already existing as important information is collected.

Since the introduction of Cognos Analytics, business has never been better. We don't care about it or its characteristics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Is one of the largest corporate intelligence networks. The main purpose of the program is to search a certain set of data and to extract relevant details from the data spider web. With its comprehensive and detailed logical approach, it has solved several problems and difficult situations. The program was an enormous resource for this function and the ability to make decisions more effective. The data collected can provide a better insight into the data in helpful views.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Cognos is incredibly helpful in collecting new and amazing market knowledge from existing data. There are strong advantages and new improvements are growing in the applications. The arsenal of this is an extremely powerful weapon.

It is very powerful tool with a user friendly interface. There are enough documentation. Everything is very intuitive and dynamic.
What do you dislike about the product?
The version i worked with did not suport the control versioning

I've built high compleity dashboards and reports with. All this were dynamic.

What do you like best about the product?
Cognos Analytics is an upgrade to Cognos Business Intelligence (Cognos BI). By adding cognitive guidance, a web-based interface, and new data visualization features, Cognos Analytics provides self-service analytics to large and midsize organizations across all industries. At the same time, it provides security features, data governance, and management features.
What do you dislike about the product?
No option for Planning, budgeting, forecasting, Data exploration, model development, and training

We use IBM Cognos Analytics for Compelling data visualizations, Reporting and managed self-service capabilities. It has integrated the MNC to a common standards

Yeah, sure I would recommend using IBM Cognos Analytics. It is built on core ground from where the BI started
My analytics are all created by me at the top of my data.
What do you like best about the product?
I like it is easy to use, especially govern. I like that. My users can create their own views or choose from a built-in library. Professional developers can really create amazing perspectives. Business and casual users. May create amazing insights as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the product could benefit from more RESTful API power. The new SOAP API is fully implemented but must be modified. Implementing and maintaining integrations designed with the latest SDK solution can be tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an IS director who manages a few renowned business analytical products, I never use any of the resources sponsored by my team to identify and view information every day. This was improved by Cognos Analytics because it allowed me to link to and model my existing data, upload additional data to that template and then create dashboards and reports that I use every day very easily. Cognos BI has maintained the components that creative, highly-trained experts in data visualization need to and has expanded Cognos Analytics to enable almost any user to find quick answers, without IS assistance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Whether analytics is an essential evil or a competitive advantage, try to articulate the problem that must be resolved clearly. The idea of lonely analyst mining for analytical gold in tablets and then providing a stunning, c-suite visualization of that nugget is not synonymous with our constant need for insight. Every day, our analytical solution needs a process-based, verifiable version of the actionable truth.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that my organization uses cognos analytics as a one stop shop for many data sources. It's nice to be able to create visual data as well as extract data with filters
What do you dislike about the product?
So far the only thing I don't like is that I don't have admin rights to have a little more functionality as a developer
