Useful but sometimes clunky
What do you like best about the product?
I like that, when I know precisely what I want, I can accurately and completely retrieve information using reports. It is remarkably fast and effective when I use it in the exact right ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really do not like not being able to pull multiple reports simultaneously. If I use the search bar to find a report and have already run one, I have to close the previous report in order to pull a different report of the same type.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The information that I pull is very fluid and has a lot of moving parts, so Cognos (in the ways that I use it—there are other ways at my organization) really serves to take a slice of that information at a specific moment.
Very good software to manage budgets and forecast. MI good for decision making
What do you like best about the product?
Reporting software is easy to use and easy to train staff on. Reports give considerable detail which can be exported and manipulated to justify key decisions. Simple to run and compatable with office software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reports can be slow to run depending on the size. Reporting software could have prompts to where trainees have made a mistake and the report won't run. Failing that more detailed instructions for new staff.

Key reconciliations made to the forecast on a monthly basis. Reports allow us to capture all elements of data, ensuring we have covered all accruals in our actual s.

Dashboard is the best in version 12 and look and feel was very good as expected and performance is the best

Some advanced features in administration is missing

What do you like best about the product?
Reviewer rate publish to PDF,Report delivery scheduling, modeling, analysis, dashboards evet management and stories. I can understand my organisation data and can make an effective decision for my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cross browser compatibility is somehow problematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In analytics COGNOS business intelligence covers 97% of functions, which provides an average of 63% of features and functions. It lower cost, faster results and it improved my decision making.

What do you like best about the product?
the flow of the work is very smooth, IBM Cognos has the most beautiful UI compared to other cloud services I have used, and I think I will most likely recommend to my future employer
What do you dislike about the product?
I have faced some lagging when changing pages or loading assets, maybe its due to the servers far away from Finland, I appreciate if IBM can work on this issue.

I have used it to solve assignments that has been part of the study on Coursera, it is educated step by step and it made cloud computing much more familiar to me

What do you like best about the product?
The software is very intuitive as in, it understands the needs of the company and increases work efficiency. It can handle a lot of data and makes it very easy for all departments to create reports in order to view data. You can easily combine multiple queries or sort your data very easily while making reports. No need of a technical background or knowledge to generate reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its definitely not easy to set up, it actually took a lot of time to install it and so. Definitely need formal training and people who are not well versed with SQL will find it difficult to set it up. Price is also a con especially for small startups.

Ok product for data analysis but not too relevant anymore and going away if web based in IE.

It does have good cube data features that allow you to easily organize and export data in convenient formats. Reports are also quick and easy to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very old UI and not fast processing times. Also will no longer be supported on IE for web based users. And organizing reports is not very functional.
