IBM Cognos Analytics - Many options
What do you like best about the product?
Variety of resources for building reports and various reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, there is the issue of learning which, without the necessary dedication, can hinder the achievement of the desired results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generation of various reports for reporting to different instances. Use for data analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how easy it is to create queries and the ability to use SQL within IBM Cognos Analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't enjoy creating reports, especially when they are complex and time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me extract important data for use in other tools with which I am more familiar. To do this, in IBM Cognos, I create automated routines that send the results directly to an email, so they can be processed later.
Versatile and with various features
What do you like best about the product?
The program is very versatile and offers various resources to present data in a way that suits the content and objective you want to demonstrate. It allows for both the extraction and consolidation of quantitative data through interactive dashboards and the creation of entirely descriptive reports, as if they were constructed in a text editor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building queries and tables can be complex and require advanced knowledge of the tool and coding, especially in SQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company needs to present data to different stakeholders, and the tool enables the development of extractions and demonstrations that meet each information need.

Possibility to customize queries in the database, facilitating the extraction of reports.

The tool's interface is not user-friendly, requiring a lengthy learning curve.

Extensive BI tool catering the needs of many within a company

It is full stack. I an create fully detailed reports and super fancy dashboards. And over the past five years the number of improvements are tremendous.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to use for novices, especially the reporting module.

I gives insights in performance of our business

I like the AI based analysis and report generation capabilities. They reduce the number of data scientists and engineers required to generate insights of similar quality

Nothing that I disliked, cloud data connectivity (AWS/ S3 buckets) could be added
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are testing IBM Cognos Analytics for inventory management forecasting and for prediction of opportunities lost (due to unavailability of raw materials/parts) for some of our manufacturing plants. Although we have a data science team, Cognos Analytics allowed me to create a quick proof of concept. I have connected our SQL databases, and I was able to identify atleast 3 divisons, where the current suply was less than predicted demand

Honestly , there is nothing i dislike about it.

Report development is quick and easy to pick up. There are many options for configuration and customization to bring your reporting to the next level.

There is a learning curve, just like any other tool.

We need structured reporting. Cognos helps us deliver canned reports for our end users daily, weekly, and monthly.
