Much more affordable and accessible then other options
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things about AssemblyAI is how much more affordable and accessible it is compared to many other options on the market. The pricing is straightforward and budget-friendly, which makes it an excellent choice for both small developers and larger teams. Despite the lower cost, the transcription accuracy and feature set remain top-notch. The API is easy to implement, and the documentation is clear and helpful. It’s reliable, fast, and packed with features like speaker diarization and topic detection that are usually reserved for much more expensive platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently there are some features not available to the European users but I believe these are in development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to transcribe conversations between brokers and clients, which ensures that key details aren’t missed and can be easily reviewed or referenced later. This is incredibly valuable for our brokers, who can focus on the conversation without needing to take extensive notes, then use the transcriptions to follow up with tailored advice or next steps.

Easy to use and understand, produces good results.
What do you like best about the product?
The documentation is fairly clear, and there's a lot of good libraries to get you going. If you're using any tech stack, or just want to roll your own connection, it's pretty clear what you need to do. Of the several different integrations I'm working with at the moment, this one is the easiest.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting to the API documentation is actually not as easy as I'd like. Because everything seems to run so smoothly, I don't have to work with AAI too often, it just does the job. So when I do need to alter something in my usage, I do need to work out how to get to the API documentation. Minor issue, but it something I think about every time I use it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want transcription for videos. This does exactly what we need.

The documentation and playground is great as well how well thought the APIs are.

The dashboard lacks some usage analytics features.

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely easy to implement the api into any code
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly I haven't had many issues with Assembly AI, potentially the underlying model itself could be a little more intelligent (i.e. it still has errors/incorrect words) However for the speed and cost it is extremely impressive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Taking audio and transcribing it into text. As well as all the timestamps of when the audio was said etc...

The great simplicity of usage, with 10 lines of python you are ready to transcript audio.

The dashboard is awful, the usage stats are not great and is difficult to handle multiple users.

Solid Product
What do you like best about the product?
Transcription accuracy is extremely important to us. We've tried various altenatives but AssemblyAI has the lowest error rate of them all, which is why its our go to.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found no downsides to date, its very easy to use and implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use AssemblyAI for its advanced transcription capabilities. Our company builds advanced AI phone receptionists for healthcare so transcription accuracy for gathering infomation over the phone is a must.

It does not support many models. If it supported models like whisper, it would be amazing
