Airbyte is easy to install and make data handling easier
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to install and setup. The UI / UX is easy to understand and not a lot of configurations needed to get it up and running. Also the concept of source and destination make everything reusable and easy to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing bugging us is the fail-big process. Meaning if something is wrong in the synchronization, it needs to redo the whole process again. Also the transformation configuration could be made easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sync OLTP with data warehouse.
Data transfer with a lot of connectors
What do you like best about the product?
Its functionality has been precise to connect all the data channels and leave it in only one, its preparation process for each connector is well explained which makes the whole process easier to perform even if you are not an expert in coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
During all this time of use I have not found any problems in the use of Airbyte
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been practical to use with reduced man hours from our ELT development giving us usable data in hours instead of weeks.
Great ELT tool, allows you to build custom connectors
What do you like best about the product?
The reliability and the ability to build custom connectors. The fact that you can choose self-hosted or cloud-hosted versions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Originally, there was no checkpointing when extracting large sources, but this has now been added as a feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is the best ELT system for integrating the less commonly used third-party data sources - it is not enough for us to integrate 50% of our data sources: we need them all.
Useful for ELT approach. Still a long way to go.
What do you like best about the product?
Throttling, error handling, retries, rate limits etc come out of the box when it comes to Airbyte.
This will help us use most of the connectors easily.
Deployment is simple.

Deployment is simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scaling will lead to a lot of issues.
Had to switch from using Kustomise to deploy Airbyte to using helm Charts.
Lots of intermittent issues on custom connectors will always be a challenge.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Ingestion to GCS and BQ.
Replicas from AWS DynamoDB at regular intervals.
Replicas of other DBs on AWS and GCP like Postgres, MySQL etc.
Error handling and Retries.

Airbyte for large data transfers
What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte allowed us to copy millions of rows from a SQL Server to Snowflake with no cost and very little overhead.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally had to reset Docker & Airbyte in order for the engine to continue working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pushing data to the cloud with little or no cost incurred. When we tried doing the same via a different method, the cost was in the thousands. As a non-profit, we have to watch expenses at every turn.
Beginners review
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use both in cloud and open source is fantastic. The big selection of connectors, both source and destination helps immensely. Additionally there are different support channels
What do you dislike about the product?
The help page displayed when setting up a new source or a new destination isn't always up to date. Setting up connectors in OSS requires far more steps than cloud connectors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airbyte is used to fetch ads metrics from a variety of different platforms and concets them to a single destination in an effort to consolidate all marketing related data for the company.
A one step solution for scheduling jobs
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using airbyte for the past 4 years and also involved actively in open source contribution. It is an awesome tool to schedule your batch and real time jobs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, it's scheduler stops working, but it's manageable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling our batch and real time jobs with alerting.
Torbjorn does Airbyte
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to set up a Data Pipeline (ETL) from a source to a destinaiton.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have anything I dislike about using Airbyte.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of connecting external data sources like FaceBook, YouTube, Google Analytics and brings our data into our Data warehouse.
Decent for an open source tool
What do you like best about the product?
Hands on and can get pretty custom for certain sources when needed. frequency of new connectors, free, Universal object selection
What do you dislike about the product?
frequent new releases, error handling isn't great. security (lack of it),
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
simplified source connection, no required manual maintenance, and pre-set integrations. free
Very convenient and easy to set up for quick ETL pipelines
What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte provides a straightforward way to ingest data from different sources into our data warehouse. The biggest benefit is it allows us to skip writing custom ETL code for each data source.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, the self-hosted version doesn't have a user management feature yet, so rolling it out to a larger team is not yet as streamlined as other OSS tools. But, it's a minor and temporary gap which I'm sure would be filled in a future release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very convenient for rapid ETL setup, currently used for non-critical datasets. The main benefit is cost savings in terms of time which otherwise would have been spent on writing custom code.
