Cheaper than Fivetran, easier than Debezium

  • September 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive, simple where it can be but it doesn't hide necessary complexity.
Good story around managing schema migrations. Great that it works so well with WAL.
What do you dislike about the product?
The error messages can be a bit opaque. We had a table called "group" that clearly obscured some variable name or something, and it took some guessing to figure out what was going on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing data from a production database to a data warehouse. It's significantly cheaper than Fivetran, while also being much more intuituve and more "honest" about its inner workings.

Airbyte is now the best ELT on the market

  • September 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The community is very helpful.
The speed at which the team implements new feature.
The possibility to add custom connectors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a period during which some connectors were not stable, but it has really improved lately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ingesting all our data in our datawarehouse.

Simple and amazing product

  • September 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, and comes with a self-hosted option so you can try before you buy.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides as such. We've really enjoyed using Airbyte.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airbyte makes it easy for us to sync our data across data sources. For eg: being a small team, we use Airtable as our sales CRM. However, it's usually difficult to perform complex analytics on this data directly on Airtable. Using Airbyte has allowed us to sync our CRM data from Airtable to Postgres, and now we can write SQL to query this data. Magical.

Best Data Pipeline Tool Around

  • September 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've been with Airbyte for 18 months now and at the time of adopting the product, their long tail on the amount of connectors as well as their consumption-based pricing made them not only the best product for our company but also the by far the most cost-effective. Fast forward to today and they continue to rapidly evolve the product and add even more connectors to the offering.

Their set-up wizard makes it incredible easy to set-up a new pipeline in minutes. With the added ability to have syncs run on pre-defined schedules or cron expressions as well as webhooks to push failures notifications directly to Slack, we feel very comfortable with the set-it and forget-it mentality and can be easily notified if something comes up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of any at this time. We're happy that the product is continually evolving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily move data between services

Airbyte is One of the Best EL(T) Tools

  • September 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Community and support
2. Supports multiple sources and destinations
3. Easy to create new connectors (sources and destinations)
4. Supports Python and Java connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
All the below are related to the open-source version of Airbyte:

1. No authentication layer
2. Frequent updates which are not backward compatible
3. Some times the pull request reviews for the open-source connectors take time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extracting data from third partities such as Zendes, Recurly, and more. Also it supports CSV load from S3 to the desired destination (Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ... etc).

Airbyte is easy to install and make data handling easier

  • September 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to install and setup. The UI / UX is easy to understand and not a lot of configurations needed to get it up and running. Also the concept of source and destination make everything reusable and easy to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing bugging us is the fail-big process. Meaning if something is wrong in the synchronization, it needs to redo the whole process again. Also the transformation configuration could be made easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sync OLTP with data warehouse.

Data transfer with a lot of connectors

  • August 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its functionality has been precise to connect all the data channels and leave it in only one, its preparation process for each connector is well explained which makes the whole process easier to perform even if you are not an expert in coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
During all this time of use I have not found any problems in the use of Airbyte
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been practical to use with reduced man hours from our ELT development giving us usable data in hours instead of weeks.

Great ELT tool, allows you to build custom connectors

  • June 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The reliability and the ability to build custom connectors. The fact that you can choose self-hosted or cloud-hosted versions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Originally, there was no checkpointing when extracting large sources, but this has now been added as a feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is the best ELT system for integrating the less commonly used third-party data sources - it is not enough for us to integrate 50% of our data sources: we need them all.

    Financial Services

Useful for ELT approach. Still a long way to go.

What do you like best about the product?
Throttling, error handling, retries, rate limits etc come out of the box when it comes to Airbyte.
This will help us use most of the connectors easily.
Deployment is simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scaling will lead to a lot of issues.
Had to switch from using Kustomise to deploy Airbyte to using helm Charts.
Lots of intermittent issues on custom connectors will always be a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Ingestion to GCS and BQ.
Replicas from AWS DynamoDB at regular intervals.
Replicas of other DBs on AWS and GCP like Postgres, MySQL etc.
Error handling and Retries.
Throttling.

Airbyte for large data transfers

  • January 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte allowed us to copy millions of rows from a SQL Server to Snowflake with no cost and very little overhead.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally had to reset Docker & Airbyte in order for the engine to continue working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pushing data to the cloud with little or no cost incurred. When we tried doing the same via a different method, the cost was in the thousands. As a non-profit, we have to watch expenses at every turn.
