Great ETL open source tool
What do you like best about the product?
Installs in a few minutes.Intuitive to use. Gets the job done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a dislike, but what could be improved: ability to install on AWS with Terraform, or Cloud Formation. But I am sure Airbyte is solving that as we speak.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extract data from Jira database and insert into Databricks. Extract from any source and insert into MySQL.
Just a little help from my friends!
What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte is great for ETL, it helps a lot to get information out of different sources in various APIs and centralize all of that data in one place to start working with our analysis and create dashboards to understand where we are and make decisions to take all the oportunities it presents to our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problems it may have sometimes when you update a data source connector and the normalization creates different errors in the schema that you have to create the connection all over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create custom calls to different APIs and create those workflows to centralize in one database, as well as creating the tables ourselves. It saves us precious time!
Great tool in the modern DE stack!
What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte offers a compelling package for data integration needs, excelling in its open-source model and extensibility. Its broad array of pre-built connectors makes it easy to start integrating data quickly, while the web-based UI simplifies pipeline management. Overall, it's a cost-effective, community-supported tool that adapts well to diverse data landscapes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Airbyte offers a wide range of pre-built connectors, the list is not exhaustive. If you need a connector that's not available, you'll have to build it yourself, which requires time and technical expertise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Addresses the challenge of varying methods for constructing ETL pipelines.
Operate data transfers at scale while maintaining full control over data privacy

What do you dislike about the product?
- Missing workspace management and navigation (only via API)
- Missing IAM on workspaces (links to the above)
- Some random 500 internal errors from time to time

Using Airbyte to operate data sensible flows is crucial for our clients, especially for PII data. Maintaining control and ownership on the infrastructure hosting the service is a crucial winning point vs other market solutions such as Funnel or Fivetran and accelerates and simplifies greatly the our role in answering all of our clients questions and problems regarding GDPR compliance.
Monitoring is way easier, specially when scaling to hundred of flows for various use cases because you have access to the database. Maintenance is also easier with bulk operations made easy.
Replicating methodologies via API automations enables us to create huge synergies for our use cases

Great product.
What do you like best about the product?
Understanding how it is supposed to be used initially was a bit difficult but as I used it and read through there great documentation I found out how effortlessly data can flow from source to a destination
What do you dislike about the product?
The community version doesn't support Jira server and GHE connections. Very hard to navigate around those two sources specially when we are working on DevEx metrix. Also the slack auto bot is good but I do need help sometimes from a live human
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extraction of data from several sources into one destination.
Simplifying the EL(T) to data pipeline.
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly without the need for extensive learning. Allows for swift creation of data pipelines, supporting diverse data imports, and customizable import scheduling.
What do you dislike about the product?
Numerous customization options are available, but it also comes with several limitations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The process of swiftly transferring data from one location to another, reducing the time required for coding.
Effortlessly transitioning data
What do you like best about the product?
Airbyte delivers a user-friendly mechanism that's ready in a few simple phases: deploying, initializing inputs, configuring outputs, and merging the two endpoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating issues as an open-source enthusiast of Airbyte can be challenging. I recall struggles from the previous year due to obsolete guidance. Seeking community insights sometimes feels like a wild goose chase. Thankfully, such hiccups are not a daily occurrence. Once set in motion, it's smooth sailing until a new version comes along.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
easy to get started to build POC and apps runnig in prod.
Easy to use with a lot of connectors
What do you like best about the product?
Open source, easy to set up, many connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
Current version of Source connector changing from dev version to a current one after reboot. Notification only via Webhook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Processing data from MS SQL to our data warehouse in BigQuery
very good choice for small tech companies
What do you like best about the product?
having data from external services in a data warehouse is a standard issue for a lot of companies and for some reason there isn't a single quick way to sort it out.
we chose the open source version of airbyte primarily for the alpha connectors (unavailable in the managed version) and because we're able to deploy it on our k8s clusters and "the backend and data team" (literally two people) work closely together.
deployment and general reliability are very straightforward, and once a connector is set up and starts syncing, it just works.

What do you dislike about the product?
many of the connectors are in alpha state and one is generally forced to switch to the open source version if one of those is needed. a few connectors prioritise snowflake compatibility over bigquery (there are a few issues concerning the handling of dates), but everything being open source, it's straightforward to deploy your own patched version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
as mentioned above, we have a few external services which generate data that we wanted to import into our single data warehouse. airbyte does just that, quietly, as promised. much better than a bunch of custom scripts running as cronjobs.
Optimal introduction to the E(TL) framework

- It's possible to create custom connector with minimal effort
- OSS alternative
