Good tool to visualize and keep track of your SQL database - some SQL skills required though!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can integrate Metabase with my SQL database and track, filter, and visualize my own data. This helps me to create dashboards and always keep track! Furthermore, Metabase from a user perspective is fairly easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are two things I particularily do not like about metabase.
1. If you work with a large amount of data, filter views and dashboards tend to load very slowly.
2. If you have no SQL skills at all, it will be hard for you to create custom dashboards and filter views. SQL definitely required!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metabase helps me to visualize and filter my own data. It is the first tool I open in the morning to check on some major KPIs!

Easy to set up and operate.
The business team can easily build queries with a user-friendly interface and be autonomous on BI.
You can create alerts to send reports by emails, messages or slack.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some types of graphics and reports are limited, compared with paid tools from the competition.
Does not work and scale very well with NO SQL databases (like MongoDB), but is very good with SQL databases.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is our primary internal BI platform.
As it is free and very user-friendly we had a fast ROI and didn't need to train the business team on how to use it.
It took some load from our Dev team, as they don't have to build most queries and reports anymore.

Best Tool for Data Analysis and working in Teams
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that Metabase can be downloaded for free as open-source software makes it one of the databases that can be accessed with the least amount of effort, and this feature of Metabase is the one that is the most important. In addition to this, I enjoy that it is compatible with a number of other programming languages, such as SQL and others. This is something else that I find quite useful. Creating SQL scripts and incorporating them into projects is a procedure that may be described as being rather simple. It is always the application that I turn to first since it provides a wide range of different customization options that may be adapted to satisfy a wide variety of work-related requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no possibility to filter the data, and there are severe issues with scalability; whenever I input a massive dataset, the program lags behind much too much. On the other hand, considering that it is a utility that runs on open-source software, this behavior is permissible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to make full use of the data visualisation features that it provided, and overall, this application is quite astounding because of how easy it was to use. It proved to be extremely useful for me when I was working in my firm on a wide variety of student data, and I used it.

Ease of setting up. Ease of writing queries and seeing results for quick analysis

Unable to join database and add columns for separate analysis.

Getting actionable insights from database. Different users can view and create their views and dashboards
Great way to pull queries for teams of all sizes
What do you like best about the product?
Nothing is hidden in Metabase. Simple organization with worksheets and even easier ways to house architecture. Love that I can pull up a fresh sheet and start plugging away with SQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the large number of databases make it confusing. This could be improved by giving an option to see extra details about any given database upon mouse hover in the case of complex organizations with many databases.

We've been able to democratize pulling data across teams instead of relying on a single department to do this for everyone else.

It is easy to use, understand and communicate complicated data.

Sometimes the dashboard subscription don't give the visuals on the mail

What do you like best about the product?
Metabase is a wonderful tool because it is really easy to use. If you don't have any relationship with data and SQL queries, it is still really easy to understand the user interface of Metabase and search for your data. You can easily deal with Big Data without complex queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, I don't have any negative thoughts about Metabase it is really good for us and our job. But sometimes the support team is a bit slow, I mean they reply to your questions but not at the current time. But in general, it is a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Metabase for data access and availability of data. We connect it to the different sources and in that way, we can use it from google sheets, tableau or from it's own interface. It makes our job really great.
Magic and Easy!
What do you like best about the product?
Simple and custom questions make it extremely easy to put thoughts into application even for non-technical users. For more technical users, the ability to convert advanced questions into sql queries is magic. Then being able to turn the queries into various visuals is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are minor bugs like limited color selections and the occasional confusing error but overall, this is a great tool that only gets better each day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any problem that our business has currently is being solved with Metabase. From user queries to hardware monitoring, Metabase helps generate valuable insights we would not have otherwise.

Try it! It is a great tool, open-source, and easy to use/learn.

What do you like best about the product?
It allows less-techy users to understand a Database in an easier way. It enables common business users to visualize data directly from the database and require less input from the IT teams for data access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels like the software is in "beta" mode. That is only the UX/UI. More data visualization abilities would take it to the next level. Maybe even direct connections to PowerBI etc.

Data access and availability. Understanding our databases and allowing access to citizen data scientiests in the company. Executive dashboards with minimal ETL and direct from source.
