Improved transparency in sales processes but could use more flexibility in customization

  • February 27, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

In terms of Supply Chain Management support, we're still exploring its capabilities since we're relatively new to using ERP systems.

How has it helped my organization?

As for its impact on manufacturing efficiency, we're still in the development stage, but we expect it to improve our factory operations, especially with features like factory tracking, which helps monitor production orders and manage warehouse stocks.

What is most valuable?

Some valuable features include improved transparency in sales processes, which has been vital for our operations. Regarding analytics and reporting, we do monthly reporting for our shareholders, but we're still testing the analytics capabilities to extract valuable insights.

What needs improvement?

While there are many advantages to using Infor CloudSuite Industrial, there are some drawbacks that could be addressed. Specifically, I believe there should be better clarity and agreement on all interfaces and requirements before signing a contract. This would avoid unexpected costs and complications later on.

We expected more flexibility in customization.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been working with this solution for about 2 years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't had the opportunity to assess the stability or technical support of Infor CloudSuite Industrial.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, I believe the solution is flexible enough to adapt to different organizational needs, although there's room for improvement in terms of flexibility.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

While I haven't directly worked with similar ERP solutions, I have experience with local IT vendors and have found them to be challenging to work with in the past. In terms of drawbacks, I find other ERP solutions too complex and cumbersome to handle due to excessive procedures and evaluations.

How was the initial setup?

As for deployment complexity and maintenance, I can't provide a rating as I haven't been involved in those aspects yet.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As for pricing, I secured a favorable deal at around $80,000 yearly for 5 years, but it was a one-time opportunity.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Compared to SAP, Infor CloudSuite Industrial is reportedly easier to use with better interfaces, making it more reliable and flexible.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Infor CloudSuite Industrial between 6.5 and 7.

Before buying Infor, I recommend companies thoroughly understand their own processes and spend time analyzing if the ERP fits their needs. Taking a couple of months for investigation and comparison with other ERPs is advisable.

A hybrid solution solution for ERP but needs a better support

  • November 07, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

CloudSuite Industrial is primarily used by small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) within the manufacturing sector. Compared to other ERPs, it offers approximately 95% more functionality explicitly tailored for industrial manufacturing. This ERP excels in size, functionality, and feature richness, making it a smart choice for SMBs.

What is most valuable?

Infor CloudSuite Industrial primarily focuses on production rather than planning. It handles various manufacturing processes such as make to stock, make to order, make to engineer, engineer to order, and engineer to stock. These diverse industrial manufacturing processes can be configured within the site lag. The complexity increases for larger companies with multiple branches and various production lines. This software can be a suitable choice for smaller companies with one or two standard product lines.

What needs improvement?

The reports have a deficiency of data richness. It generates essential financial statements such as Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, or Cash Flow, along with Management Information System (MIS) reports related to finance, which are not supported. Standard reports are absent, and the only available option is an Excel add-in, a limited utility for extracting information to process data externally. However, this process poses challenges regarding data variety and manipulation risks when exporting to external systems or manipulating data within Excel. Consequently, this system lacks the necessary assurance for auditors due to the potential for human intervention and alterations in the generated reports.

Two critical areas demand significant improvement. Firstly, integration with external systems, especially banking systems and different bank portals, is lacking. The absence of an interface with banks makes all payment processing tasks manual. Everything requires manual handling outside the system, whether it's payments to vendors or from customers. Secondly, the finance section lacks reporting capabilities. There's a pressing need for enhancement in integrating with external systems like banking platforms and improving reporting functionalities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Infor CloudSuite as a partner for over 14 years. We are using V10 of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable. The initial transition took place in 2015 or so. Initially, it was a small-scale initiative. However, in 2017, a significant move was made, resulting in several outages and downtimes. Nevertheless, it has since become more stable. Presently, we receive monthly reports indicating an uptime rate of 99.99%.

Amazon has a highly resilient and stable infrastructure.

I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

You won't need any further upgrades. They have been performing monthly upgrades for at least two and half years, incorporating all enhancements, new features, and bug fixes into the product. From a customer perspective, there's no worry about future upgrades. It continues to evolve and change dynamically. Instead of a major migration every few years involving all customers, it's more of an incremental process. Regular enhancements and bug fixes occur every month, ensuring that your system stays consistently current and up to date.

The platform has document management and various other functions. All are centralized within the same platform and shared among all ERPs. Consequently, vertical migration becomes possible for integrating Coleman AI and IoT functionalities. Additionally, vertically, seamless integration between Infor and non-Infor external applications is achievable. Scalability poses no issues within this system.

50+ medium-sized business customers are using this solution across the globe.

I rate the solution’s solution as a seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Support has been a concern since around 2011 or 2012. The offices in Bangkok or Singapore struggle to comprehend the complex taxation. While our needs might be intricate, customers expect comprehensive support when paying for it. The support provided fell short, resulting in a very frustrating experience.

Instead of directly addressing the issue, they often responded by stating that the problem wasn't inherent to the product but considered it an enhancement. They would advise us to log an enhancement request, promising to consider it if deemed valid, essentially deferring the problem for future resolution.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and takes four to six months to complete. There's no complexity in setting up this system. It is very user-friendly. They're flexible in customization compared to tier-one ERPs like SAP, which are inflexible when making changes. You can easily customize it if you know a bit of coding about .NET. You don't need to be an expert if you have some basic ideas.

Infor CloudSuite Industrial involves five primary phases: inception, elaboration, instruction, transition, and optimization. In the inception phase, you gather requirements and create a Proof of Concept (POC) to encapsulate these requirements in a smaller model. Subsequently, you present this model to users, provide training, and identify process gaps. A conference room pilot is conducted to pinpoint issues or additional requirements, which are then integrated into the system. The process continues with user acceptance testing and data conversion, and finally, the system goes live. This deployment method within Infor CloudSuite Industrial is adaptable and can be tailored to suit the size or complexity of your project.

I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is cheap and has an annual subscription only.
I rate the product’s pricing a three out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend considering your budget when evaluating Infor CloudSuite Industrial, as it's a smaller ERP solution. It's important to manage your expectations realistically. This software covers aspects efficiently but lacks the more sophisticated or luxurious elements often found in higher-tier ERPs. It provides necessary data and functionalities, yet its user experience, data manipulation, and advanced reporting capabilities are limited. Therefore, it's crucial to set the right expectations. Additionally, while it covers basic planning requirements adequately, it may lack some of the more comprehensive planning features found in other ERP systems, even though it fulfills essential functions competently.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
