Recommend Maximo as Best in Class
What do you like best about the product?
As an IT professional, I love the flexibility of configurating all the various applications within Maximo. My favorite new feature is autoscripting.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest pet peave of Maximo is how the new feature packs don't necessarily align with the Industry Solutions. I also do not like how long it takes to get answers from support and when submitting PMRs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our next high priority project will be to implement inventory in Maximo to ensure a large ROI.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go to conferences, and ask questions and get demo's from within your industry.

World Class EAM solution
What do you like best about the product?
Maximo is very intuitive for users to learn. On the technical side it is extremely configurable for almost any business process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mobile solution has had some problems and needs to be sorted out so IBM can provide a complete solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have legacy home built systems performing HSE related activities. Maximo HSE provided a platform for us to migrate these business process into one system and retire the legacy systems.

Ease of use and the new skin of 7.6.1. New applications and capabilities like inspections.

Some design issues such as single asset selection on locations.

We are trying to create a mobile solution for our technicians. Anywhere is great but will not work with Work Flows.

tracking costs and scheduling work in advance
robust with coverage for all industries, but you need to choose where to start and how deep you go
What do you like best about the product?
Maximo is vast. it is in virtually every industry, and covers not just everything MRO. Procurement of production related parts for example, can and is done in Maximo. Not typically where I expect someone to start, but it happens. There is often too much for an organization to get into at once, so it is usually better to determine the best processes to automate, and prioritize to what level you will go.
What do you dislike about the product?
pm sequencing; lack of a task library (as opposed to job plan library); licensing maintenance is complicated to document, understand and deploy;

single centralized storehouse for MRO data from which to aggregate and analyze data to build into information to drive change and evaluate progress.

kick the tires. isolate business processes and evaluate for automation. prioritize, train, analyze, re-retrain
