Hotjar, but better, self hosted and respects your privacy!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like, that you can self host it on your server and that it's gdpr compliant.
What do you dislike about the product?
You feel that it's not complete as for now. Many things are not self explaining and you need to dig in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I replaced Hotjar with PostHog. I record users to get a better knowledge what my users are doing on my site.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. I can set up easily and start capturing events.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes feels like auto capture feature captures too much. I understand the inner workings of it, but having to extract useful info from it becomes cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real-time event notification for my startup.
It's made our life as an early stage startup 10x easier! We use to do everything in house with mongo
What do you like best about the product?
We can trust the data collection, transformation, less code to be responsible for, and usability for PMs to create their own insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to have an easier way to have customer-facing charts for event data to better communicate our value prop. This is more for B2B SaaS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Significantly less code to be responsible for, reliable, Dev Experience is fantastic, more time can be spent on building and insights rather than maintaining
Posthog is super easy to use and excels where platforms like GA fall short
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and easy to use. Teams can get setup and gain valuable insights on their users very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
None that I can see, aside from paying for another tool. It's worth the cost though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tools like GA4 are insanely difficult to use given their ubiquity. Posthog delivers everything GA does and more in a much better package.

It has a slight learning curve in order to understand the UI and add integrations

All web/mobile tracking in one place, all touch points

Setup can be cumbersome, and real-time tracking is not as seamless

PostHog has exceeded my expectations in almost everything about Analytics.
What do you like best about the product?
Session Recordings. Being able to identify and understand our users has been very helpful.

I find the extensions/plugins somewhat limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog has been extremely helpful in identifying out UI issues and User Behavior.

Creating recordings of user sessions interacting with our site is very valuable for troubleshooting and ux
Its an easy, and multi use tool.

Data collection and analysis are accessible in this tool. I can check about the journey, retention, funnels and heatmaps using posthog.

What to do if I need a complete data download of my customers? This still remains a problem for me. There should be an option for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything.... But data integration team is not that working with posthog. If there is Customer Success Manager, it will be better.
