Easy install
What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to install. We use shopify and it was pretty much as easy as copy and paste the snippet into our code. Can't complain about that setup at all! Easy
What do you dislike about the product?
So far we're struggling to use PostHog to identity customers. Its creating a bunch of user records even when we know it is just one person. I think clarity on how to avoid this would be nice!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to identity were are customers have problems using out app and where there is room to make the app easier to use. We hope to identity root causes of drop off.
Simple, effective and clear data analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Posthog makes data tracking simple and effective without the heaviness of other platforms like Amplitude. I've been able to set up tracking infrastructure quickly and easily, with none of the headache I was used to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI is a little confusing, and there's a little learning curve with how to create various data stories. I wish the different functionalities were a little simpler to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog helps us understand user flows and journeys through our product. We can then better gauge where we're losing users or what's confusing in our platform.

More graphical representation can help in taking bustiness calls

Debugging and finalizing strategy
Good posthog
What do you like best about the product?
Really enjoy the live events and the ability to see the recordings.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I can think of at present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us with our marketing efforts on a new product launch.
Easy to capture events using posthog-js
What do you like best about the product?
Capturing custom events using posthog-js is easy and intuitive. Custom data can be sent with each event, and insights can be graphically displayed based on this custom data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there seems like there are multiple ways to implement things such as filtering out user from your organisation for example, and it's unclear which method to use. However, PostHog has a responsive support community on Slack!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog is helping us understand a user's typical journey through our product, through the Recordings function, and helping us quantifiably determine which of our features are used most through custom events, so that we can dedicate more resources to enhancing those features.
Great in concept, but poor delivery.
What do you like best about the product?
Really enjoyed user pathing/flows. It was great for an early platform to get an understanding of where it is users traffic most when dev resources internally are limited.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its utility is great until a lot of features, especially ones associated with user insights, seemed to get axed or kneecapped. It's also not as user friendly in terms of UI/UX, I find myself rage clicking quite a lot and if you're a non-technical PM it becomes more of a dev task than needed. With the LOE put in, we'd be better off pulling data from a BI tool like Metabase or PowerBI and leveraging our Product/Data Analyst's time to draw deeper insights ourselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, none at this point. We've basically churned out. I was the one championing to use Posthog upon our launch because of its self-hosting option.
Great catch-all solution

Product Analytics event capturing
Product Analytics event capturing
What do you dislike about the product?
Analytics such as funnel checks is hard to understand initially

Quite good
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of analytics readily available. Lots of combinations to reach to useful insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat complicated for newcamers, maybe a better new user tutorial would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Showing how users use our product. Also, showing where our product fails (crashes etc.).
My experience on Posthog has been good
What do you like best about the product?
Loads quickly and automates a lot of manual processes
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to figure out where the data is coming from and why it doesn't match up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how users use our site, which is important because we use it to optimize our marketing
Open source all in one product analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like how detailed the documentation is; getting up to speed with everything took no time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love a bit more focus on the consequences of GDPR for each deployment method in the docs, much like how Plausible is doing things, given that we are moving to a much more privacy-centric approach with analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog gives me a robust set of product-building tools without any work. This allows me to focus on building my product, and Posthog gives a helping hand in understanding when things are working well and when they are not.
