Talk about wow! Needed no nonsense, wheels + tools included solution - PostHog has it all

What do you like best about the product?
Integrating up PostHog was simple and easy. It took me half an hour at most to swap from Split.io to PostHog, which is great.

I need something that had great support for cohorts with feature flags, and PostHog fit the bill. Now i dont have to be scared to frequently setup feature flags and be unsure if it will work. With PostHog I know it will work!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm yet to find anything I don't like? Seriously, setup was almost painless.

The only thing I could have liked a little bit more documentation on was how to add properties to people - I ended up getting it work, but it wasn't clear how to do it when only woking with feature flags
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Feature flags is the key feature at the moment, excited to use more when we have time to embed it!

Fast to set up, lots of tooling

What do you like best about the product?
Was looking for analytics/session tracking software with enough depth to track key metrics but low engineering time to set up quickly. Very happy with posthog so far and how many different utilities are rolled into the software. Easy to get started and great for an early stage startup moving quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
User ids/names are extremely difficult to read in posthog, I wish there was an option for human readable user names, eg lucky orange gives users names like "mint banana."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering metrics to assess product market fit; retention is a big one. I originally installed for session capture, then discovered there were more analytics features available. Looking forward to trying surveys next.

Amazing product and fit for a specific group of people.

What do you like best about the product?
This is an amazing product with great customisability. From an engineering perspective, this product is well built and does the job you need. It can be overwhelming to learn at first, but that is the price you pay. Simplicity sacrifices depth and depth sacrifices simplicity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't used long enough to discover any quirks I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying find product market fit and in the quest for PMF, this product is paramount towards assessing whether we are nearing that benchmark or not.

Super simple integration and amazing benefits

What do you like best about the product?
It took us a day of work to have PostHog integrated, auto-capturing the events along with metadata specific to our SaaS. On top of that the features are amazing, I was especially impressed with the session recordings. If you take into account the really generous free tier and the modest price after scaling, I think this is a must for any SaaS solution that's looking to scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing would be that the dashboard interface feels at times a bit complex when setting things up. It may be being picky and something that you learn fast anyways
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The data we're gathering from our user's direct usage is pure gold

Great user experience and community

What do you like best about the product?
The friendly user experience and the amount of documentation that can be found.
What do you dislike about the product?
Javascript and Node libraries have different APIs, which means you will have to put more work into SSR apps, where a single library doesn't fit both worlds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very easy to follow user journeys. You can rely on PostHog to correctly identify new users.

integration is quite easy, as the docs are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
a minor, as i would probably gonna pay soon, but scheduled reports require to insert credit card :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
simple analytics tool instead of google analytics

When I started usign PostHog it was quite difficult to understand all the features. Some of them are very similar.

Excellent platform for product data analytics

  • February 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We love the session replays, feature toggles and product data analytics. The free tier is fair and we're looking forward to PostHog helping us understand our users and grow our business. The fact we can have data analytics, feature toggle, session replays and a/b testing (not tried this yet) in one platform is fantastic and I feel like we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg with what we can do. Integration was very easy with JS snippets for Google Tag Manager, or React/JS libraries for the frontend and server side for feature toggles and a/b testing. We get it implemented very quickly and immediately saw the benefits of from all the data we're gathering. The customer support was great too, as they helped us just record session replays on certain pages to keep within their free tier
What do you dislike about the product?
There's very little to dislike, the platform works great and has a fair free tier to get started so nothing to complain about!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding our user's behaviour and then feature toggles for controlling access to new features. We're also going to start A/B testing in the near future so we're looking forward to seeing how that works in the platform

Posthog is AWESOME!

  • February 20, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
I don't even know where to begin. Their support is so friendly and helpful, and the product itself is so easy to use an integrate, and has so much bundled in it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked the recent outage, and there was a bit of a learning curve to the dashboard creations, but I found it out with the docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog allows me to figure out annoying edge cases INSTANTLY! Before, I'd have to ask users to manually tell me exactly what's happening, but with posthog, it just happens automagically!

Seriously, the DOM capturing and screen recording is SOOOO useful
