Great Event Capture, Needs Better Dashboard Intelligence
What do you like best about the product?
I find PostHog incredibly helpful for capturing events across the entire stack, both front end and back end. This capability is crucial as we're focused on understanding our users' journeys and ensuring a great user experience. Additionally, the setup process was mostly easy, allowing us to efficiently monitor usage and performance metrics. I also enjoy the general vibe of the app, making it quite pleasant to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found that setting up the analytics and dashboards with PostHog was a bit annoying. While capturing events was straightforward, creating certain visualizations was not as intuitive as I expected. There were issues with the MCP with Claude Code which often led to errors in writing the SQL needed to parse events and visualize them meaningfully. This process required a lot of manual debugging, which was frustrating. Additionally, I think the dashboards could be more straightforward, potentially benefiting from prebuilt options to simplify the setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to capture events across the full stack, enhancing our understanding of user journeys and performance, which is vital for improving user experiences and showcasing our app’s speed advantage.
Posthog is a full product analytics and tooling platform
What do you like best about the product?
Posthog is extremely easy to use, provides great documentation and guides that make integration extremely straightforward. Their pricing is also very fair and transparent, and they allow you to easily control spending limits if needed
What do you dislike about the product?
Their marketing can be a bit cringe at times, but overall their product is top-notch so I don't dislike anything there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog allows us to record use sessions and then fully replay them afterwards, allowing us to gain insights or solve customer issues.
An all in one platform with great UX and afforinle services
What do you like best about the product?
PostHog brings together product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and experiments in a single platform, so I don’t have to juggle multiple tools. The UX is clean, fast, and intuitive, making it easy to find insights quickly. I also really appreciate their open-source approach and transparent pricing, which makes it accessible and scalable as my project grows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can feel a bit steep at the beginning because there are so many features to explore. Some advanced setups and integrations require technical knowledge, which may not be ideal for non-technical users. Also, while the documentation is extensive, it could sometimes be more beginner-friendly with practical examples.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog helps me centralize product analytics without needing multiple third-party tools. It gives me clear insights into user behavior, funnels, and retention, which helps me make data-driven decisions and improve product features faster. Having session recordings and feature flags in the same platform saves time and simplifies my workflow.
Simplifies Analytics with Easy Deployment
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the simplicity of launching and implementing PostHog, which combines multiple functions into one platform. This all-in-one capability eliminates the need for various tools, particularly beneficial for new projects. PostHog effectively solves problems related to user behavior understanding and product issue identification, assisting me in addressing them efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was a little lost at the beginning trying to understand which events could be, should be, or are recommended to track, indicating there could be more clarity in initial guidance. There's room for improvement in the instructions for implementation. Having more detailed, native instructions, possibly based on prototype and user flow, would be beneficial. Recommendations on which triggers and events to implement would be ideal. This way, I could hand the document to developers and have everything implemented very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find PostHog solves the problem of understanding user behavior and insights, highlighting product issues to address, and combines multiple analytics and recording tools into one platform.

But in the portal it says:

Month-to-date
$0.00
Projected

What do you like best about the product?
We're using Sentry for error tracking - and TinyBird for product analytics - this combined the two + also gave frontend analytics, all under one roof! Easier to manage everything!
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably there should be documentation to migrate from other popular tools to PostHog would have been a banger!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As PostHog gives multiple products for tracking and analytics, having them under one tool makes it super convenient for our stakeholders in different department to learn just one tool to extract the information they need - having SQL to query stuff makes life super easy.
