SotA Analytics Tool | Rich feature set out-of-the-box

  • December 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A faster integration is actually not possible. Out-of-the-box direct access to a rich feature set. After - still manageable - integration, very individual tracking.
I have used everything from GA to Mixpanel over several years and find PostHog the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial "promotional" emails after signing up are a bit much. I like receiving emails when new features are actually introduced, but follow-up emails after the first use of PostHog are not necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Without good analytics, one is blind. Especially when validating new products, designs, customer profiles, etc., good analytics are essential to make data-driven decisions. Later on, analytics also offer a kind of smoke test for bugs that indirectly worsen usage.

4x4 Analytics Solution

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PostHog stands out with its comprehensive suite of features and tools, which streamlines the administrative workflow by consolidating multiple functionalities into a single platform. The initial implementation process was notably straightforward, making it easy to get started. In terms of practical usage, I find myself accessing PostHog multiple times throughout the week, which speaks to its utility. The robust feature set is particularly valuable, allowing us to handle various analytics tasks without needing to integrate additional third-party tools. I haven't yet had the opportunity to test the customer support services or explore the integration capabilities, so I cannot provide feedback on these aspects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenge with PostHog lies in its initial learning curve. While the platform offers extensive functionality, getting familiar with all its features during the first setup can be somewhat overwhelming. The interface, though comprehensive, requires dedicated time to master, which means the ease of use isn't as intuitive as one might hope for new users. This initial complexity can slow down the onboarding process for teams who need to get up and running quickly. As I haven't yet needed to contact customer support or test any integrations, I cannot comment on these aspects of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides me the ability to track user data and also see replays, so I can gather two tools in one.

It's easy interface with it's easy to implement their SDK. The features we're awesome! I open it almost daily now and their support is great!
What do you dislike about the product?
The homepage is a lot of fun, but it also is imho. too cluttered. Took some time to read everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me gain insights in how my product is used!

Ticked all the boxes

What do you like best about the product?
Needing to quickly implement a flexible, cloud-based solution for Feature Flags took us through a bit of a laundry list of possible solutions. However, PostHog clearly stood above the rest in features, ease of integration, and ability to bring the whole team together without breaking the bank!
What do you dislike about the product?
More difficult than expected to sign up with a credit card (took 5 minutes intead of 1; I can deal =)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Initially, feature flag management across multiple environments. Anticipate future use of more capabilities!

PostHog makes product observability simple

  • December 17, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
The docs are really easy to use. They also product a bunch of metrics for you automatically after ingesting some data which is really cool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI has really poor responsive design. It works well on large screens but not smaller ones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving us visiblity into what our users are doing in order to inform product roadmap & sales conversations

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to setup and cleaner UI with powerpack of analytics and testing integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Graphs and charts can be made better and also the time to load data can be improved a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementation of A/B testing and letting us know which one works best.

    Consumer Services

Easy to use A/B testing via feature flags, code only. No UI/visual editor.

What do you like best about the product?
There is good documentation for Node/Nuxt/JS, but it seems to assume that the user is already very comfortable with the testing concepts discussed. Howevever, I easily integrated PostHob in Nuxt. Using the UI, I easly created a fictitious scenario, was able to test my scenarios locally, and immediately began to track page views in the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't figured out how to display the click events I've coded. I see them being sent when I inspect the network activity of the page. I can't change the name of the variants of my Experiment once it's created. So I'm stuck with "control" and "test". I can't create more of them. I also can't duplicate the Experiment to reuse it as a base.

Could use more flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to assess which CTAs and popups on our many SSR websites are the most effective at driving conversions.

Easy to setup and implement to many frameworks. Big and good quality documentation. Very good UX on dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some less popular frameworks are not included in documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Feture flag is the best featurte on post hog along with a/b testing because I dont need to creat this type of system on my backend
