An Essential Tool for Clear and Easy Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that PostHog gives me clearer analytics than Google Analytics and is easier to install. I enjoy managing the dashboard views and the ability to generate them with AI, plus the session replays are indispensable for improving the quality of my application. I value the great free tier, the easy integration, and all the options and facilities that the platform provides. I am impressed that the AI installer in React works very well and that the AI in the platform helps a lot in creating insights and managing information that initially might seem unrelated. I also appreciate being able to quickly track identified user profiles, seeing all their events and errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are many tabs that seem to refer to logs, and sometimes it can get confusing, or there is no check for errors that is an "ACTION REQUIRED" which could be used to trigger an alert.

Intuitive, All-in-One Analytics Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I use PostHog primarily for product analytics and also for LLM analytics and session recordings. I find it pretty easy to use and set up, and I appreciate that it's an all-in-one solution. The UX/UI is simple to understand, and whenever I'm stuck, its AI is very good at getting me back on track. The help docs are pretty good, though it's usually simpler to ask the AI. I like that it provides a single UI for many analytics-related tools. I've used it for product analytics, LLM analytics, and session recordings, but it can also handle web analytics, revenue analytics, heatmaps, and more. It serves as a data warehouse, providing a single point of access to all my data. I also enjoy their communication style as it's very casual, fun, and straight to the point, which makes using the app enjoyable. There are many tiny details that frequently make me say wow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The first times I tried to create my own charts, I had a hard time understanding what types of chart/analysis I should use. Luckily, its embedded AI helped me do it. But the naming of the buttons/UI elements did not make it intuitive. Additionally, when using the LLM analytics there were some costs differences between what was displayed in the UI and my calculations given OpenAI rates. Differences were small, but I wasn't able to conciliate them. Also, in LLM Analytics, you have to click each message to see its content. When checking long conversations, it's annoying to have to scroll down to click on the message, scroll up to see its content, scroll down to click the next message, scroll up to see its content, and so on. There should be a better way of visualizing the conversation. The LLM feature is new in PostHog, so hopefully they are still iterating on it.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, especially when exploring some of the more advanced features. However, once you get familiar with the platform, it becomes much easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog solves the challenge of understanding how users actually interact with the product, beyond just high-level metrics. Before using PostHog, it was difficult to identify where users were dropping off, what features they struggled with, and which interactions truly mattered. With session replays, heatmaps, and detailed event tracking, we can easily spot friction points, usability issues, and unexpected behavior.
By bringing product analytics, user behavior visualization, and event tracking into a single platform, PostHog eliminates the need for multiple tools and reduces guesswork. This helps us validate assumptions faster, prioritize improvements with confidence, and make more informed, data-driven product decisions that directly improve user experience and engagement.

Developer-First with Great Features, Needs Better Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I like that PostHog is developer-first, which I find quite important. The brand itself is also very strong with the hedgehogs. It's very helpful that PostHog supports many different features or product lines, preventing the need to manage multiple separate services. This all-in-one platform approach makes it much easier for us, especially when we were evaluating other options that lacked feature flag capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the developer documentation is quite complicated. There are multiple different options for me to set up integration that includes using React JS, but there's also a Next JS guide. Not every single guide has full support for the framework you're using. It was confusing to figure out if I should use the native JS library or React, which is the preferred way. There were some instantiation issues, and the examples and documentation weren't too great. The initial setup was easy because there's an extra JS page, but integrating different features and functionalities became a little bit more complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to sync client events, track the user journey, identify errors, and gate features not ready for customers.
Feature-rich platform that could use simpler onboarding guides
What do you like best about the product?
I started using PostHog because of the free version and found the automatic tools that are immediately available and configured very useful. I was also interested in checking out the AI features. And session recording, which allows you to visually see how a user navigates between screens, seems very valuable since few platforms offer this.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I would like to see some guides, some simple guides, because I think PostHog is very large and has a lot of functionality that many people don't understand. And if there were some guides that you could do in a minute a day, a minute an hour — that is, short, brief, but clear — to go through, that would be super.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog for traffic analysis to understand how many people use my site and what problems I have on my site that need to be fixed from an SEO and marketing perspective.
Effortless Analytics Setup with Intuitive UI
What do you like best about the product?
I like that PostHog makes it extremely easy to enable analytics by just adding a single file file. The onboarding process is one of the best I have seen, as it doesn't require switching between multiple windows and gives API keys directly in the onboarding flow. I also appreciate how intuitive the UI is and the value of user recordings for my use case. The feature of being able to quickly verify integrations and the simplicity of adding analytics are really beneficial. Switching from Google Analytics to PostHog was a relief because PostHog is more intuitive and offers a smoother experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the dashboard could be improved. There could be a more discoverable question mark icon which explains the entire chart for my specific app. Many times the titles are not directly very intuitive. Another thing is the onboarding could include a step that allows you to track custom objects, like whether the user is disabling a feature flag or not. Also, in the onboarding, there could be a copy button that allows you to directly provide the step to cloud code, removing the manual copying and pasting of code snippets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find PostHog provides a quick and easy way to enable analytics on my website, track user flows, and avoid complex backend tracking. The user recording feature helps me see how the platform is used and spot any issues.
Effortless Setup and Insightful UI
What do you like best about the product?
I love the UI of PostHog and also love that it allows me to see what others are experiencing. It's valuable because otherwise, I wouldn't be able to see other perspectives. The initial setup of PostHog was super easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are errors on the platform, and some buttons are obsolete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog for session replay and UI/UX improvements, helping fix platform errors and obsolete buttons. I love seeing others' experiences, gaining different perspectives.
Comprehensive Product Analytics for Bootstrap-Stage Teams
What do you like best about the product?
PostHog provides powerful analytics without requiring enterprise-level infrastructure. The self-serve setup means we could start tracking user behavior immediately. For a small team building multiple B2B SaaS products, having one analytics platform that scales with us is valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard organization could be more intuitive. Getting the right metrics visible at a glance requires trial and error with the interface. For quick product decisions, we're still figuring out how to structure dashboards so key signals surface without digging through multiple views.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed consolidated product analytics without enterprise pricing or complex implementation. PostHog gives us user behavior data, feature usage tracking, and funnel analysis in one place. This means faster iteration on product decisions because we're not waiting on engineers to pull data or paying for multiple tools. For a two-person team managing several products, this operational efficiency is critical.

PostHog's ease of use, easy setup, and detailed user data is what I like best about PostHog.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog has helped me solve user retention issues. By installing it to a SaaS that I created, I can see what users are most interested in/not interested in, and can adjust UI/UX accordingly.
