Seamless Integration with Robust Features

  • November 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how PostHog offers an integrated feature package that stands out without having direct competitors, which is quite beneficial. The ease of integration is commendable, thanks to the extensive developer documentation available, making the setup quick and efficient. I find the system's insights into user interactions incredibly useful, allowing for smoother feature rollouts. The feature flags, in particular, are very effective, and the seamless integration with our user system is a standout, enabling easy selection of users for feature rollouts. Additionally, the platform's orientation towards self-service with robust documentation and simple usability across multiple languages is a significant advantage. The user interface is another aspect that I find impressive, as it enhances the overall experience with the service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the API survey feature to be problematic. We're trying to use our own styling and are relying on the API survey feature, but the current setup seems cumbersome as it requires passing specific IDs for existing questions from PostHog. It's not straightforward when using our API, and though we found a workaround by sending data as JSON keys, this approach is not officially supported. This lack of flexibility in using the API option is frustrating. Additionally, better documentation is needed for this feature. Another concern is the pricing, which I suspect might be high given the range of features, though I have not seen the billing details myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog for insights on users and smoother feature rollouts, benefiting from easy integration and quick feature deployment.

Fantastic Support and Pricing

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The developer first approach and easy ability to connect with real humans is fantastic. The generous free pricing quotas just can't be beat. The super cool retro styling on the website is the cherry on top.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a Ruby library, but the Ruby / Rails integration is not as seemless as some other tools (e.g. Mixpanel for analytics or Rollbar for errors).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
insights into what my users are doing, how features are working, and general analytics

Powerful dashboards, but a UI that's too plain

What do you like best about the product?
The creation of dashboards as well as the management of live events are aspects that I particularly enjoy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is too plain for my taste; it lacks dynamism and attractive elements. I would have appreciated a few more features or original touches to make it more enjoyable to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identify issues related to retention and playtime.

Highly Customizable Analytics, But Frequent Crashes Disrupt Experience

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the standout features is the ability to customize our Dashboard to fit our specific software requirements. This flexibility lets us track not only events but also cohorts, and it includes heat maps, which are particularly useful. Another great aspect is that it provides access to all the APIs through SWAGGER. Overall, the platform is highly adaptable, allowing us to tailor analytics to suit our needs.
Once you have done all setup it can be easy to navigate through the platform.
The customer support is extremely helpful and quick in response.
What do you dislike about the product?
The frequent crashes during loading can be quite irritating at times, and I also receive a large number of incident emails. This makes me think that there are many crashes occurring, although they do seem to get fixed periodically.
For someone who is implementing Analytics first time it can be a little overwhelming as events and all can be a little too much and might not be easy for to integrate for first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had difficulty tracking how many of our users were truly active, and we needed a way to store this data for use by our Lead Management Team and for marketing purposes. PostHog provided us with clear and straightforward insights into user activity, making it easy to understand what is happening and why. By utilizing events and cohorts, the platform became very user-friendly and allowed us to benefit from these features, helping us target the right audience with the appropriate approach.

Insightful User Recordings, But Filters Need Improvement

  • October 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Reviewing recordings is extremely helpful for observing real user behavior. It not only aids in understanding the user experience but also allows me to identify and revisit any potential issues within the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
The filters can occasionally be a bit confusing, and navigating them isn't always straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is extremely useful for testing and identifying issues that can lead to product improvements. Additionally, whenever a new feature is introduced, it allows us to observe how users interact with it.

Intuitive Features, Helpful AI, and very easy to get started but Documentation Needs Clarity

  • October 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to understand the list of available features and what each does and to which use case it applies. Just as easy to integrate and start seeing results. And the interface to define reports is also pretty straightforward and where you encounter difficulties you have the PostHog AI that helps you figure things out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I had some troubles with the documentation. I found some confusing information is some places about how to add custom data to the tracking event. I was eventually able to figure things out using PostHog AI, but the first impression I got trying to use the docs by myself was that the format of the event JSON needs to be a bit more clearly documented and a bit more consistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for tracking product usage.

Feature-Rich and Easy to Use, But Default Tables Need Editing Options

  • October 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Platform is free to use for new companies or anyone who wants to try it. It's very simple to setup and works right of the shelf. It has one of the most comprehensive features and Max AI has been my go to feature now to ask any query related to user behaviour.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tables in default views are not editable - which is frustrating sometimes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a consumer app that we use to monitor user behavior, focusing especially on retention and session replays to help us identify dark patterns.
