Superior Session Recording, Effortless Setup

  • November 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use PostHog primarily for capturing recordings of sessions from the users of our apps and websites, which is invaluable. I love how session recordings allow us to observe precisely how users interact with our applications, showing us the areas where users spend the most time and providing insights into decision-making processes. This feature is incredibly useful for identifying bugs we might otherwise miss. The session recording in PostHog is the best I've seen in any product, providing a clearer picture compared to others I've tried. The reporting feature is also extremely beneficial, allowing us to share usage insights with other team members effectively. It is easy to build reports by integrating pipeline data from an SQL database with interaction events, which brings even more value as we can demonstrate to staff how users engage with our software. Additionally, I appreciate how simple the initial setup of PostHog was, making the transition smooth and enhancing our workflow efficiency. Overall, PostHog's features significantly enhance our understanding of user interactions, and I am confident enough in its performance to recommend it with a solid 10 out of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes experience issues with session recordings in PostHog, particularly when it comes to handling layouts and dialogs displayed by our Ionic/React applications. The recordings occasionally show these elements multiple times when they only appear once in real life, or sometimes the images do not load properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog for session recordings, providing insights on user interaction, identifying bugs, and sharing these insights with colleagues through reporting.

Intuitive Product with Powerful Insights

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how PostHog provides clean, intuitive dashboards that make data analysis straightforward and engaging. The ability to review user sessions is invaluable; it allows me to gain deep insights into how our customers interact with our application, ultimately aiding in better decision-making for improvements. PostHog's bug reporting feature is particularly beneficial, helping to swiftly identify and address potential issues. Setting up a custom dashboard has greatly enhanced my ability to track key activities and user behavior, such as registration flows and onboarding drop-offs, through tailored event triggers. The initial setup was impressively easy, thanks to the clear and comprehensive documentation provided. The rich resource of information helped us get up and running quickly, without any major hurdles. I'm so satisfied with PostHog that I eagerly recommend it, rating it a perfect 10, and look forward to using it across more products.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel a bit overwhelmed by the many features PostHog offers, leading to a lack of understanding and uncertainty about which features would be beneficial for our use case. This abundance creates a challenge in effectively utilizing the software, and I suggest implementing walkthroughs or feature prompts for features I haven't yet explored to make them more accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to track customer activity and review user sessions, which helps us understand app usage. The clean dashboards and intuitive features facilitate setting up custom dashboards for insights into registration flows and onboarding drops.

What do you like best about the product?
I think the cost and feature set go a long way to making this a solid pick for most companies. I also like the brand personality and site vibe.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think some of the reporting features could be built out to be more flexible à la Mixpanel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A low lift way to see what’s happening in a few of our apps. In addition, we use feature flags to test out different new features and use session replay to see what users are actually doing.

What do you like best about the product?
I find tremendous value in using PostHog to track user behavior and error reporting on my website. It offers me a profound understanding of how users interact with the site and highlights where errors occur, specifically issues I might not have detected on my own machine, such as styling problems. The Session replay (recordings) feature is particularly outstanding as it provides clear insights into user activity on the website. This feature has allowed me to observe how users navigate through the checkout funnel, which inspired me to redesign it for a more user-friendly experience. The ease of the initial setup of PostHog is another positive aspect I appreciate. Additionally, I am very fond of their homepage and am enthusiastic enough to have already shared it with my colleagues. The overall experience is so positive that I would give it a rating of 10 out of 10 when recommending it to friends or colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to track user behavior and error reporting on my website, improving my understanding and allowing me to fix styling issues and optimize the checkout funnel.

Great for User Analytics, But Integration Hiccups

  • November 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find the UI and logo of PostHog very cute, which enhances my overall user experience. I also appreciate the availability of many products within PostHog that I can use together, providing me with a cohesive toolset for my analytics needs. It's convenient to have all functionalities accessible in a single place, making my workflow more streamlined and efficient. Additionally, I found the initial setup of PostHog pretty easy, which made onboarding with the software a smooth process.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find connecting PostHog with Snowflake to be problematic. Despite multiple attempts, the warehouse connection often fails due to errors. The errors I encounter lack clear explanations, making troubleshooting difficult. Even after successfully establishing a connection, the import process fails repeatedly, which is frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use PostHog to analyze user behaviors, track how many users visit my site, and identify which features perform well, providing a single platform to view all analytics seamlessly.

Turning a confusing and complex process of web analytics, into a clear and easy one.

  • November 13, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about PostHog is it's ability to automatically collect the majority of relevant analytics information without having to manually identify each event/item of interest. This is not the case with the main player in the space, Google Analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that we were not able to add domain whitelisting on our plan without paying for the additional cost of a proxy. While the free tier is quite generous, the very first paid tier is not accessible to early bootstrapped projects at $250.00/month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With very little effort, we have been able to migrate away from Google Analytics. Our pain-point with Google Analytics is that we needed to implement the capture of analytics events and items in a manual way. This means that any new additions to our web app, we needed to consider all of the analytics implications and build it in. Posthog solves this with their ability to automatically capture the majority of the events and items that we're interested in immediately, including the console logs as well.
