What do you like best about the product?
I love the new feature and surface modeling tools
What do you dislike about the product?
User interface could use a tweak. I'm used to the solidworks interface. I also like their rendering software a little more.

Solid edge a time saver
What do you like best about the product?
Most beautiful thing is in solid edge in generation of drawing is in case of revision it generates an automatic revision triangle where ever a minor changes happened nwith description window. Which saves lot of time during revision of drawings.Also newer version of solid edge has the features of pack and go which also saves huge amount of time during the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration feature is not available in solid edge which should be included. I found little difficulty in controling the dimensions in ST version. There is option in driven features we can delete the links afterwards which is little dangerous. It my lead to some critical problem in later stage of project. I feel that this feature should be reviewed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using solid Edge I have done top down assembly which is completely controled by sketch. Also I use it analysis feature to check vweather the design members is having enough von misses stress values. I assign material properties and check the feasibility of my design.

What do you like best about the product?
It is best software compare to other options available in market. It is very easy to use. It keeps on updating itself latest version for 2019 has been launched which has eliminated almost all the difficulties. Its PLM update has made the software winner in the race with other softwares. Its best software for 2d drawing, modelling, sheet metal, surface modelling and PLM analysis. It is must for mechanical students and every college need to include this in there syllabus. Its cost less compared to other softwares
What do you dislike about the product?
It is less popular in our country, it needs to romote itselfvby workshops and conducting competations. Its material rendering is not good as NX.

Guys this is best mechanical CAD software and please buy latest version. Every college need to include this software in their syllabus.

Assembly of mechanical components is very feasible.
Surface modeling can be done precisely.
In starting it is difficult to learn.But once learned it is very easy to do modeling.
It has comparatively less cost when compared to other softwares.

Assembling parts, 3d designing, 3d printing, surface modeling and part modeling.This application allows me to work quickly and precisely.

I have problem to create in the sketch points which I have define in the excel. Maybe it is possible but I cannot find.

I modified the model of the vacuum pod what was very important in point of view my master work. Maybe this work will win some competition.

What do you like best about the product?
Solid edge is a leading software available in market for mechanical designing. It is best for beginners, who are very new for designing. It is user friendly and very easy to use. We can do part modelling, surface modelling, assemblies and engineering 2D drawing. While 2D drawing its easy to move, rotate and copy diagram. It xan be run by any version of window's computer
What do you dislike about the product?
It is lagging a bit when compared to catia and NX. Its rendering option is also not up to the mark.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for 3D part modelling and it's assemblies.

It is best software for mechanical designing, every mechanical engineering student need to start designing using this software. It is must go if work lies in part designing and surface designing

Solid edge help in the 3D modeling of objects. We can print them and the results are outstanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
I needed to learn about it before I started so I took me some time to do that and in a lot of times I was not able to reach my goals because of the lack of experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me get objects from 3D models and my purpose was to compare the objects when they deform locally.

Use video tutorials if available to learn easily.

What do you like best about the product?
With solid edge you can to all kinds of engineering drawings and modelling. It helps you to work more efficiently than any other design software. Options and tools can be understood very easily and it's best software for beginers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It get stuck sometimes and you may loose your data. Sheet modelling is not good enoungh.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it for engineering drawings like different views, isometric 3d drawing, part modelling and assembling.

Its best software for design purpose but for analysis you need to by some other software like ansys or hypermesh

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful about solidedge is how fast you can gain a good workflow. So once you're familiar with the basic tools, desinging how really fast. Also once you have to modify or update any part of the desing to fit better or any new requirement, changing any measure or adding parts is really easy and fast. Thats relly helpfull for 3d printing and rapid prototyping. Gicen such speeds you can get more time before you present your work at school or a client, improving even more yours desings
What do you dislike about the product?
For begginers maybe it a little bit hard to learn were evrything is and how to go around certain desing challenges. Also going from an older version to a new one cna be really frustring to re locate everything and gain back the speed you once had.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Actually i'm 3d printing replacemnt parts for cars. Some parts like old dashboard or clusters were youneed really good skills to achieve the same complex desings and copy exactly all the curves. Also I can get some mockups to preview or 3d print to test and gain a lot of time in the prototyping stage. Once in production any error I have in measurements can be retro fitted and quickly changed to get the best parts I could. When desining for old cars its really easy to take some measurments and copy complex shapes to validate the viability of the part.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a little more time and practice before desining real parts. So afterwards your desing speed will be much better.
