Useful software for a product design engineer
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is a tool for 3D designing. This designing tool is useful if you are a product design engineer. We can make 3D models of the product using the decent user interface of this tool. This tool is also helpful in electrical design and CAE. The user interface of this tool allows making the 2D drawing of the views of the product so that we can do the correct dimensioning of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool's user interface is sometimes not good because sometimes we have to invest more time. The user interface is old, so simens should work to make the user interface more user-friendly. When I was using this tool, I saw that some operations in this tool take time may be because of some unwanted bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you want to do 3D modeling, this tool is beneficial. It can also be used to make a 2D drawing and electrical design. Sometimes a design engineer needs to do CAE as well, and this tool is helpful for this tool.
Tool for electronics design
What do you like best about the product?
As a design engineer, I use Solid Edge for the purpose of 3D modeling of electronic products related to home equipments. During using this tool, I like the arrangement of options in this tool. Because of the easy arrangement, we can navigate options very easily. I like the ability of this tool to design electric circuits.
What do you dislike about the product?
For smooth operation, we have to use a strong pc. PC must contain a minimum of 8GB of ram. Because pc with low ram and specification, solid edge lags, so we have to spend a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves problems related to 3D modeling and electronic design. Using this tool, we can do 3D modeling and electronic design in less time than other tools. Because of its easy UI more than one person from my team can work on the same project.
Useful tool for CAD as well as CAM
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is a good tool for CAM as well as CAD. I generally use this software for my daily work purposes, and I find that this is a very good tool. The CAM/CAD user interface of this tool can be understood very easily. When I was a beginner in this tool, I faced very less difficulty, and I became fluent in this tool in very much less time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use this tool on a daily basis, and till now, I have not found any difficulty in using this tool. Apart from this, I face some issues when I use this tool for a long period of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On a daily basis, I use this tool for CAD and CAM purposes. And for these purposes, this tool helps me a lot. Before using this tool, we were using another tool, and when we moved to this tool, we saved lots of time and money.
Good suit for CAM and CAD
What do you like best about the product?
SolidEdge a good option for electrical design and solid modeling software. Assembly modeling and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) are also very easy in this software. We can make drawings of the 2D orthographic views of the model easily. I started working with this tool in my college time. We can save money for the development of the product. So, overall this parametric software is a good option the product engineering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Assembly modeling in this software takes lots of time. Integration of models is tough. The user interface is ancient, so it is a time-consuming software tool. It does not allow us to create holes directly in cylindrical or curved surfaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can make solid models, 2D orthographic drawings, and assembly models with this software. This software is also good for computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). This tool allows the tool to make threads easily, and in other software, we have to invest lots of time.

What do you like best about the product?
1. This application has a very good user interface, regardless of whether it is used in a classic or order environment.
2. Geometric tolerances and symbols can be assigned to any dimension in 2D or drafting. It is possible to choose from a variety of options.
3. In other applications, you can easily open .stp files and convert files into step files.
4. A 2D drawing can be modified after a 3D drawing has been converted to 2D. Detailed views and cross-sections can also be added.
5. There is no need to create holes in order to make threads.

1. Directly creating holes in the curved and cylindrical surfaces is not possible. For this, first, we have to create a plane, then we can create holes.
2. If you create a drawing in synchronous mode, extrude it, and then alter the drawing later, no modifications will be made to the extruded parts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software is beneficial in terms of saving time as well as resources and money. Because of its easy interface, we can create models or drawing easily. Previously, I used this software in my previous role but currently, I am not using this software.
An excellent tool for product engineering
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is an excellent tool for product engineering developed by simens. The modeling of products becomes very easy by using this tool. The user interface of this tool is quite user-friendly, and this tool is developed by simens, so it is pretty similar to other tools like solid works. It makes 2D drawing very easy. We use this tool for various purposes like simulation, electrical design, 3D modeling, and 2D drawing, and for these purposes, this tool is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The simulation feature of this tool is not suitable for thermal simulation because the thermal simulation of the product in this tool takes a good amount of time. With another tool, we can do thermal simulation in a short span of time. This tool is also not good for fluid simulation, but this is good for structural simulation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its feature related to 2D drawing, 3D modeling, and structural engineering is quite impressive compared to other tools. Majorly I used it for 2D drawing and 3D modeling.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been working in the industry for more than 2 years, I had been using a lot of software, but this is a great tool to get the job done. It will help me to make different modeling and drawing easily. I like its user interface, ability to make customizable commands, integrate another model easily, make 3D models directly from scratch, and many more. Its updated version is very good as compared to its previous versions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs a strong pc (with a good processor, ram more than 8 GB, and graphics) for good performance, because in a normal pc it legs huge. Some options in its user-interface are very awkward and do not work properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problem-related to three-dimensional product modeling, and 2D-drawing are solved using this software. It can be used for the simulation of small models, but in my case, it is not helpful because I make complex models, and it takes huge time with complex models.
Solid Edge is a great tool in design work
What do you like best about the product?
Solid edge has capabilities that i suggest to use are Synchronous modelling, PMI dimensions and motion analysis and many more. Latest version V23 has new UI which is again great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it crashes while working with more parts in assembly mode. But, it could be overcome by auto save option available. Still, it irritates to face such issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my mechanical work like to examine existing model and assemblies of plant. It has some features like xpressroute and piping routing which are easy to use. Sheet metal modeling is quite usefull.
