Useful tool for a Mechanical Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
I began working on this software while in college. I utilized the student version of Solid Edge and found the user interface user-friendly and easy to navigate. I could create 2D drawings and 3D models using the software. Additionally, it has the capability for computer-aided engineering, making it a useful tool in the initial stages of product development.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface of this software is engaging, but it could be updated to make 3D modeling easier. Additionally, it is not an efficient tool for computer-aided engineering as it takes significant time to complete the process. Siemens should consider updating the interface and optimizing the software for CAE tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is beneficial for the early stages of product development. Engineers can use it to create both 3D and 2D models of the product, as well as perform analysis on the models. This software is capable of handling all of these tasks.

Product modeling is easy with this tool
What do you like best about the product?
I can start 3D modeling right away in Solid Edge, which is superior.
With other software, I would first need to draw the entire portion in 2D, then design it in 3D objects. With this software, I can create a model of a 3D object from the start.
So for me, it's quicker and more effective.

A lot of PC resources, including lots of RAM and a powerful processor, are necessary for Solid Edge.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building three-dimensional models and two-dimensional drawings of the models' views is my daily duty as a professional design engineer. I find the solid edge useful for these uses.
Good option for product designing tool
What do you like best about the product?
I am a structural design engineer and found the following good things in this software.
*The user interface of this software is excellent.
*Any dimension in 2D can be given geometric tolerances and symbols.
*Using this software, we can open .stp files and translate them into step files.
*Cross-sections and detailed views can also be readily added.
*Making threads doesn't need making holes.

It is impossible to directly make a hole in the curved and cylindrical surface.
To do this, we must first design a plane, after which we can create holes.
The extruded components won't be altered if you make a drawing in synchronous mode, extrude it, and then change the design afterward.

In structural designing, I found that this tool is beneficial for me. I make part design easily by investing less time so that I can save time for another engineering process of the product. I can make 2D drawings of the parts so that I can read the cross-section easily.

Solid Edge is an extremely simple and easy-to-learn tool. Solid Edge is a wonderful tool to get started with solid modeling because learning his tool is easy. That software is well organized, and the icons are simple to use. Additionally, Solid Edge offers a useful parts library and revision control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge sometimes crashes when dealing with more intricate assemblies. When employing more sophisticated capabilities, such as alternate assemblies, Solid Edge is not good. But, I observed that it is an excellent program for those who don't want to build complex communities. Solid edge has trouble with alternative assemblies but handles complex pieces and assemblies well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For drawing or creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and product designing, I used this software. It benefited me in finishing my job efficiently in less time. We can easily update revisions and manage our components catalog by using Solid Edge.

This is a cost-value product for designing. As I tested other products, SolidEdge has great tools and technologies that help me design product models, which I haven't experienced with other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The keyboard customization abilities of SolidEdge are limited. Like, NX gives us various configuration adjustments concerning keyboard shortcuts according to the need. I saw that the Solid Edge software tool lacks these features.

The development team at SolidEdge is constantly working to offer the latest technologies and tools to make product design simpler and more effective. A wide number of tools are available because of SolidEdge's expertise in CAD features, which aids in the resolution of numerous design issues.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that using this software; I can create 3D models, 2D drawings, and CAE of the models in one tool. Compared to AutoCAD, I need to spend less time on 2D drawings of the models in Solid Edge. In Solid Edge, it is possible in 2D and drafting to assign geometric tolerances and symbols to any dimension. In this software, 2D drawings can be adjusted after their conversion into 3D models.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared with other software like SolidWorks, Solid Edge has a difficult integration process with Teamcenter. Pattern command in the Solid Edge is complex. I have to spend huge time creating holes in a curved surface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program solves complex problems related to building 3D models, 2D drawing, and dimensioning in 3D. I used it for CAE as well. I used it for surface modeling, also. Mainly, I use it for working in the powertrain and chassis department.
Single tool for CAD, CAE, and CAM
What do you like best about the product?
With Solid Edge, I got the most advanced CAD/CAM/CAE solution. In addition to CAD, this software tool from Siemens also helped me with Electrical Design, Data Management, Manufacturing, Validation & Simulation, and Collaboration. It allows my team members and myself to switch between complicated tools less often because Solid Edge seamlessly connects the various solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
While using this software tool, I have not yet faced any issues except for some awkwardness in basic features and the user interface. Faced some minor issues when we performed CAE.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the phase of product development, we use this tool. We use it for electrical design, CAD, and manufacturing. I work as a mechanical engineer in the research team, so my team and I use this tool continuously.
