The experience with Solid Edge.
What do you like best about the product?
The Solid Edge is a quite excellent software to design 3-D mechanical components. I have made parts and little machines with it and it functioned quite well. Its easiness of changing the design even after completion is amongst the best things about it.
The software is of contemporary and clean appearance. Most of them are readily available, and in case you are not familiar with it, it may require small amount of time to learn. Solid Edge works well with other tools to which your company might already be subscribed (in this case, Siemens).
It also possesses great capabilities to work on sheet metal, conduct the basic simulations, and create 2D drawings. This simulation is useful but not when subjected to very complex testing.
Online teamwork is one of the things that could be improved. The file sharing and the cloud is not so silky compared to some newer programs. However, all in all Solid Edge is a very good program to use by an engineer or a student who is interested in professional level design.

What do you dislike about the product?
Truth be told, there is nothing I really do not like in Solid Edge. So far my interaction with the software has been a breeze. Every tool I have been utilizing in my activities of 3D modeling, part design as well as assembly, have functioned perfectly fine. The interface is all very simple to comprehend and once familiar with it you find it to be quite swift and to the point. The synchronous technology is my favorite tool also, editing and modifying is much easier in this tool compared to other CAD tools, tried. The sheet metal-design and technical drawings features in the Solid Edge are also very good. Although others do discuss drawbacks involved in cloud collaboration, I have not experienced any complications personally. In general, it is a highly trusting and worth using software, and I am very satisfied with everything it suggests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid Edge is fulfilling most of the issues associated with 3D mechanical design and modeling. The problem of making changes to complex models and one of the major problems that it addresses. I can therefore edit sections of it easily without disrupting the design history which saves me a lot of time and effort, using its synchronous technology. This is particularly useful to undertake rapid projects in which modifications are likely.
It also aids in production of precise technical drawing, which is significant in manufacturing and documentation. The in-place simulation, as well as sheet metal tools, are excellent at designing components that will physically be made, where I would still like to be able to test designs earlier and have fewer physical prototypes.
Generally, Solid Edge helps to simplify the design procedure, accelerate it, and provide the flexibility. It keeps me concentrated on creativity and problem solving rather than being bogged down with technical problems and improves quality and speed of work.

One of the best CAD software
What do you like best about the product?
Solid Edge is very simplistic and easy to use CAD software with user friendly toggles and advanced feature which makes me to recommend Solid Edge to the people who wants to deep dive into the design world.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t think there is any downside of Solid Edge as of now. But I would recommend to the developers that adding more features in the future would make it more and more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid Edge is making my work easy to do and handle. Also taking less time to complete my work as well as less conjunction of tools makes it easy to use.
Seamless Integration with Teamcenter
What do you like best about the product?
Straight forward and established data validation for migrating legacy data. This allowed us to not go through the need to develop a complex tool for data validation before migration into Teamcenter.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite difficult to locate the previous versions for integrating Legacy data. On the website needed extra help locating the the previous version of solidedge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm not an everyday user as I only help the sites integrate easily into Teamcenter. So one specific benefit is the smooth integration into Teamcenter.
Right-sized CAD software
What do you like best about the product?
Possibility of using data from other software (NX), same menu structure as with NX, possibility of changing single parts inside an assembly, well structured
What do you dislike about the product?
Solid Edge is not very comfortable to work with when having a big assemblies with very big amount of data. It takes a lot of time to load them and the picture is not good enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solid Edge helps to design and to configurate our product according to the customer requirements and allows quick changes on specific parts quickly to react to customer order.
good product for mechanical project
What do you like best about the product?
simple interface, very close to NX product
What do you dislike about the product?
surface commands are limited and it is not easy to create a freeform shape model
several crash on customized version

solid edge for the immediate start and great easy to use solutions for designers
What do you like best about the product?
ease, adoptive and plenty materials, samples, integration flexibility
What do you dislike about the product?
bit more small video clips, or samples would be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it helped the customer for the immediate need of CAD design with minimal training to bring the new product into market
great solid modeling software for smb
What do you like best about the product?
solid and stable - hardly crashes
more and more features
great value for money
