Onshape is perfect when working as a team remotely

Onshape review
What do you like best about the product?
Onshape has a lot of training videos and tutorials. It is simple and very useful. As an engineer, I use it to design mechanical parts. It is free.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onshape is not very good at 2D drawing. Onshape only can be used online so if you do not have internet, you cannot use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Onshape to create some 3D drawing used parts that I need
Onshape review
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the interface of on shape better than other software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I like the idea of features interface, and it takes time to understand the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used on shape to do simple extrusion and design parts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend to use on shape for quick and easy design from anywhere around the world.
A user-friendly software. I've had a lot of fun and learnings while using Onshape.
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like the most in Onshape is that it is very accessible specifically that it is used online. It is also interactive since you can actually invite someone to help you out in your design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't think of its downside since I never encountered any problem while using it. Maybe improve the material properties section to make the design more realistic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I actually use Onshape whenever I want to learn something about designing. Also, to make the mechanical design for our final year project (thesis). Recently, I used it for designing of our model. Indeed, this software is of help especially for an engineering student like me who is into designing.
Cloud-based Solidworks
What do you like best about the product?
Administration of CAD systems is simplified with onshape being a cloud-based, saas type software.
It eliminates the need for a separate PDM/PLM system, and downtime for server updates becomes a thing of the past.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some commands are a bit tricky to look for, but you can YouTube it as they have a reasonably good tutorial resource.
Access to files offline can be tricky as well, and if your Internet is down you cannot use onshape.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The hassle of downtime to roll out upgrades throughout the company is eliminated, collaboration with teammates have improved.
The need to have server infrastructure, and a file storage system in the company is eliminated so it's a big plus for our productivity.

Very useful tool for CAD
What do you like best about the product?
The cloud platform allows easy and faster work, without putting too much weight on the processor. The features offered by Onshape CAD are similar and even better in some parts, with the leading CAD softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
I encountered small bugs while working on it, like not detecting a click sometimes. But they resolve pretty soon. As a beginner, it was hard for me to figure out the location of some of the features, (like exporting).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onshape is a powerful CAD tool that I have used to design my project, it saved so much of my time that would have otherwise been spent on learning other CAD softwares and computation.
Inferior 3D-modelling platform
What do you like best about the product?
Price-wise, Onshape is definitely one of the more accessible CAD programs currently available. It can be used in a browser, allowing multiple users to work on the same project at the same time and access the project on multiple computers without having to download a new program.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onshape lacks much of the functionality provided with other (more expensive) CAD programs. There is much less flexibility in regards to what constraints are available (both within sketches and assemblies) and little to no options for editing text on a surface. Convenient options to view cross-sections of the model are also removed. Onshape can be used if there are no other options available, but it requires much more manual labor from the user and takes several times longer to complete the same task within Onshape than it would take with other CAD programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I did not have access to other CAD programs, I used Onshape to create some quick models for 3D printing. It takes longer to create in Onshape but the end result still provides a finished 3D model for use with 3D printing software, such as Cura.
Always improving!
What do you like best about the product?
Version control and collaboration was the key selling point for this CAD platform. The ability to test ideas without messing up your document tree is really critical.
What do you dislike about the product?
No native thermal or mechanical analysis capabilities, and the marketplace is still lacking reasonable solutions. This is one of the biggest flaws that I see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working across distributed teams has been easily resolved with Onshape, and document / file hygiene has really been resolved.
Online cloud software easy to excess through various devices
What do you like best about the product?
Onshape an online cloud software easy to excess through various devices. I can share documents with colleagues and work simultaneously with them on the same file.
What do you dislike about the product?
That if I am for few minutes not active on it, it asks me to refresh page and thus sometimes it sends me to the main page of Onshape.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Modeling our prototypes in 3D and then manufacturing them
Great CAD software
What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration features are great, easy to share information with customers and suppliers, great software integrations available. Runs well on machines of all makes and sizes (doesn't require a large CAD workstation). Love the mobile apps for remote collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be slow on machines with low RAM, could have more animation capabilities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CAD collaboration with suppliers/customers, and internal resources. Costs are similar to existing CAD systems but with better PLM capabilities built in. Simplicity and speed allows us to use more CAD tools at quote stage, increasing our win percentage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trial is a great tool, try for a longer trial than default. Use the collaboration tools as part of the trial. Test some large models/assemblies.
