Best CAD system
What do you like best about the product?
OnShape is easy to use and get up and running, it's cloud based and runs on your browser so you never need to worry about updating your software or if your files will work with the next update. I used to use Solidworks and after a certain point I wouldn't be able to run large assemblies since OnShape is cloud based you don't really need to worry about that. Lastly the file management system is so much cleaner and I don't have to worry about files accidentally being moved or my hardware crashing. I also think it's really great that they release updates every 3 weeks it's a much more refreshing way of working than is done with more traditional CAD systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CAD is not as mature as other systems so it does not have some of the industry specific tools and part libraries that other CAD systems have. I also think that the team at OnShape, espiecially since their acquisition by PTC should be bigger in order to impliment improvements to the software at a faster rate.
I think cloud based might also not be the best solution for some companies in terms of regulations, or sensitive information.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to model parts and assemblies much faster without having to worry about whether or not I'm using the latest version of a part or if a file gets misplaced.
Versioning allows me to keep track of changes to a design and trroubleshoot issues. Cloud based storage means I don't have to worry about my data being lost if something happens to my device nor about saving or the CAD system crashing before I save.

Simple to use for beginners, professionals, and those looking for a browser-based CAD solution
What do you like best about the product?
OnShape's browser-based CAD/CAM solution is very nice for users who don't have access to the necessary hardware to run most applications locally. It is also great for cloud-based collaboration on teams, where applicable. Features are constantly being added to make this great product even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using a browser-based CAD or CAM solution means that you're at the mercy of your internet connection and OnShape servers to be able to work. In fairness to the OnShape team, their servers have never failed while I was using them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OnShape is a cloud-based solution that allows my team to collaborate in real time. With OnShape, it is also possible to use CAD software without sourcing beefy and expensive hardware.
It's a good platform, easy to operate and has many features
What do you like best about the product?
The assembly woerkbench its incredible, mate conecctors make the things easier and more intuitive. The cloud platform its incredible because I can use I'm different computers with low processing power
What do you dislike about the product?
You can not isolate a view in drawing, can not change te thickness of a line in drawing, the color. Every time the platform ask you to create a new version just to add the part to another assembly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many users can use the platform at the same time, create versions and workspace in the same part, using in computers with lower processing power and in different places.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use and being a web-based modeling software
What do you dislike about the product?
No axis for creating revolve shapes was found, but a workaround was discovered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If I have an idea, I can quickly assemble a model and print it that night. Very smooth.
Fast, simple and enjoyable CAD design!
What do you like best about the product?
It's a very user-friendly CAD experience. Compared to other commercial software I've used, it's on another level. Cloud features are fantastic for collaborative work, and assembly mating is pretty intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, due to the connection speed, things take a bit long to load, for example, when I'm making testing changes to a well-defined sketch. Also, some tools are yet to be added, like adding different typography to sketches and some surface/complex body features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Render studio is a pretty decent addition to the software. The variable studio is also practical when working with multiple studios. Simulation features are also great; I haven't used them recently, but the capabilities are very promising.
Best Online CAD tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the browser based user interface that OnShape offers. I don't have to worry about installing the software in my computer. It's very easy to create design models and share with your team members over a link.
What do you dislike about the product?
OnShape doesn't have all the features that are usually found in Solidworks or Catia offer. Its best use case is for simple modeling or simulation. Furthermore, internet connection is always required, you can't work offline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created and edited customer design models in my consulting role. It was easy to share the models with others over the link. Since I used to travel a lot, internet browser usage helped me during my travel and improved my efficiency.
A different 3D design program
What do you like best about the product?
It is not necessary to have a high-performance team to make the software work. It runs online, which provides versatility when working with it almost anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way of working is very different from the conventional, the technical offices are a bit reluctant to integrate this type of new software, working in the cloud doesn't help either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used it for two months as a trial. We cannot create functional applications with it. However, it opened our eyes to a new way of working that might eventually become prevalent in the future.
OnShape use for Engineering applications
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use with the link actualization between teams. Rapid use of manual searchup when uploaded different files into a single revision. Ease of file management,
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes time to load high design drawings which include several projects on the same file. Also, sometimes it is hard to make a change when multiple users are connected to the same drawing (load times most of all).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have sufficient information to answer this question. A benefit I'd say is the usual fast respone, making our team work more productive overall. I believe the businesss has been more efficient in targetting and delivering different drawings with different technical specifications.
Take your CAD online with you
What do you like best about the product?
I love the online version of cAD. I can work anywhere remotely and don't need a desktop for that which is stuck at one location. It's automatically saves your work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Online version limits some of the features that work on the system version. Simulation can sometimes take long time. Faster internet connection should be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it to create engineering Cad designs. Product design and development of 2d drawings. It helped !e become productive.
Great platform and customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Great platform and customer service. Intuitive features and well-thought-through design commands/features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, the drawing load speeds for large assemblies leave you watching the loading circle a lot more than you'd like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are helping us solve getting our products out faster and more efficiently than we could before with software.
