Reliable service for Mail Hygiene
What do you like best about the product?
Accuracy of their algorithm to filter out spam. Good Performance of the admin portal. Excellent, knowledgeable support.
What do you dislike about the product?
URL filtering (overwrite of links). Browser window pops up every time an email is released. Slow to roll out DC in Canada.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Virus/Spam filtering,
Mitigating Impersonation attacks.

Mitigating Impersonation attacks.
Disaster Recovery (partial, if the mail servers are down).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you go thru all Best Practices and update default policies to ensure they meet your security standards.
Excellent email security
What do you like best about the product?
Their product works better at email security than Microsoft's solution. I am glad we switched.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mass quarantine update per individual mailbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They excel in phishing and impersonation emails which was a problem in our company.
Mimecast is a good product
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast Archive, email continuity and email search are very good products. Large file send and Email encryption are handy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mimecast white labels much of the security features. They are not great at catching phish emails or URL scanning leaves a bit to be desired. However, it's way better than most options on the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TTP and email security tools are ok. Users are warned that links may be harmful. Policies can label external email so users can treat spoof/fake emails quicker. URL protection just isn't as accurate as we would like. Lets face it. bad actors are getting smarter every day and Mimecast helps but it's not a silver bullet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I feel an onion/layered approach to security is best. So using a gateway security product in conjunction with an API based one is the best solution. We are an O365 customer and they have had service outages in the past. A gateway solution gives you tools to mitigate a Microsoft event, keeping email flowing and assuring your customers do not notice it. I don't feel there is a total one stop shop for security. Mimecast is a good tool for you to put in your security shed.
Strong tool for archival and email protection.
What do you like best about the product?
We use the archival research tool for litigation purposes on a regular basis and it is very easy to use. It works extremely well in protecting us from malicious software and links being sent from external customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the policies for Spam blocking can be challenging and require tech support intervention.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It really removes most of our malicious threats coming in via email and links. It tackles the bulk of our issues upfront so that we don't need to rely on tools to fix a problem after its already occurred.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool if it checks all the boxes.
Highly effective at preventing spam and other attacks.
What do you like best about the product?
Reduces amount of spam from hundreds of emails down to a few, with very few blocks on real emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the replacement link in the emails has security implications from the original sender that cause it to fail at the sender if Mimecast intervenes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces time spent on unwanted emails. Reduces the danger from clicking links in email which could take days or weeks to recover from attacks. Self-service for blocked emails reduces time spent for I.T. to release emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend it.
Great product that helps stop spam and impersonation attempts
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best features of this product is, it cuts back on the number of spam emails users receive. Mimecast looks at all emails that come and if it finds ones that are spam or looks to be spam, Mimecast places it on hold. You can set it up so you get a report of what emails Mimecast thinks are spam. Rather than reactive the emails, you will get a report. From that report, you can release the email and view or ignore it because it's spam.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides is, you really need to fine-tune some of the settings. Mimecast has great guides to help set the features, but sometimes it can be overwhelming with information. When in doubt, as the support team. They can help you work through the problems.
Another issue, some emails will get caught by the filter and they are time-sensitive (code expires in 15 minutes type of email) and users will forget that you can release emails by login into Mimecast.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Less spam and fewer impersonation attempts
Good, With Caveats
What do you like best about the product?
It catches all spam/junk, which is what it is supposed to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
It also catches replies I am waiting for, especially if I initially emailed someone through Outreach. This leads to a nearly half day to a day delay in receiving responses. This can mean the difference between a sale and the customer going with someone else. In fairness, this could be more of an internal issue based on the security settings implemented by our IT department, but it looks like I am not able to go in to the Mimecast portal and configure anything myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps with inbox clutter and ensures that I am not seeing any junk. It collects everything it recognized as spam and puts it in to one email that allows you to either release the email in question or unblock the sender.
Mimecast Email Security TTP
What do you like best about the product?
Mimecast Email TTP Security has been very beneficial for us. High availability, increased protection, and the ability to scan inbound, internal and outbound emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using the portal is slow when searching the archive as an administrator. For the end user the search function for archiving sometimes is difficult try to click the right folder to get results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
increased cyber security for blocking malicious emails. Be able to use the system when our exchange server is down and the Archive feature.
Mimecast review
What do you like best about the product?
I really like being able to block phishing emails quickly and efficiently. It has saved our company from a lot of potential security issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be a bit difficult to find what I am looking for if it is a feature that I am not familiar with or that I do not access often. Favorites has helped with that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem it solves is allowing us to see where a potential threat has been sent so we can quickly and efficiently contact those effected to minimize risks. We have been able to find emails quickly that were being sent to multiple people within our company and block the email before it is sent to everyone. When we see how many users it has been sent to it allows us to choose our course of action.
It has also allowed us to change passwords of an effected user quickly to prevent any further issues.

Outstanding service and a service we could not live without!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the extra layer of protection from Spam, Spoofing attacks and Phishing. We also love the archive ability with Mimecast and use it every day. We delete all email after 90 days so the archive feature has been very helpful. I really love the service and support we get from Mimecast. I love the 24/7 availability and when I have called them I always get a live person.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we have had issues with False Positives. The other thing that has been only slightly difficult is the URL Protection. We love that Mimecast protects us from malicious URL's in our Email but I usually teach my users to "hover" over the link to see if it is legit or not. Mimecast URL protection re-writes this link so when you hover over it you are not sure if it is legit or not. You are still protected, but the hover technique doesn't really work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protection from malicious email. Whatever form of Email attack Mimecast has us covered.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will not regret using Mimecast. I don't know how we did business in the past without Mimecast.
