Extremely well polished distro with a thousands of apps

Easy to learn and use, yet very powerfull

I'm using debian as a daily driver on one of my computers. It is easy to use and there is a large community willing to help

Debian is one of leading distributions currently available. Large community and a lot of tutorials simplify the process of learning and usage
Debian Is Stable and Dependable
What do you like best about the product?
Debian is stable and ideal for servers along with a great software support. I love the large community support. I have many servers having Debian as their main flavour, it really makes them smooth especial my oracle server.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the sprawl that comes from such wide platform and application availability over such a long timespan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently i am building a cluster of debism servers for research purposes. As I found it more secure, stable, and reliable.

I like the ecosystem and amount of the documentation. Most of the software just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes software is hard to configure due to unusual configuration patterns. Installation is hard to automate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using that for home automation solution. I like the small footprint and multiple architectures

We normally use these kinds of operating systems in our servers. Through these operating system, I was able to learn many unix/linux commands.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the hardest linux distro to work on, but really one of the most exciting, I would say it's much more harder than Red Hat, Fedora and Ubuntu alone. Something should really be on obstacle, otherwise why to learn there anyway at all.

I never see any donwside of debian system

What do you like best about the product?
As this is the base that Ubuntu was built from, there is a lot of software that is targeting Debian/Ubuntu. Most software that is available for Ubuntu is also available for Debian.

This is not for everyone. Linux on the desktop is great for a technical person, but not yet suitable for a non-technical user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Desktop environment. Some of our servers run Debian, both in staging & in production. Docker is also a technology we use and this works very well with Debian. We use Debian to support our continuous integration and continuous deployment set-ups for many of our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
Most interesting thing about Debian is more stable and secured your system from malware. even it detects external devices whether they affected by virus or not. so file crashing is avoided. as in Windows affected devices may affect internal files also. Recovery doesn't take too much time once it get interrupted. due to stability and more secured function user for server handling. Not a big deal to use it. Thousand of applications are run without any bug.
What do you dislike about the product?
graphical interface is not like Windows so its use by only official workers who are a part of something, Its not that much interesting for those who are running OS for gaming and who works with desktop packages. finding of Devloper packages gives error sometimes while using terminal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a official task are has to be more secured which may get affected in Windows so to avoid this we are using Debian in some of our Desktop machine. working on it. with lots of applications. as a secured storage saving files on it.

With Debian I have a very well developed and stable Linux Operating System, I can program and adapt my projects very well with this system. Debian is the most stable system that Linux has, with a very large community of experts who constantly give updates and improvements.
Debian allows me to have many options, I can use it to control networks, servers, and personal computers, with an easy, fast and secure desktop.

Debian is a very advanced system but difficult to configure, it is difficult for new users in the Linux world to enter with this large distribution, many programs must be installed separately for proper operation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have Debian installed on my personal PC, there I can have everything in one place, create softwares, modify Debian to my needs, control networks of my work site and have server options and everything from an operating system, with its graphical interface and Desktop I can surf the internet very well and do many things with a single Operating System on my PC.

I recommend Debian to users with experience in programming and Free Software, it is a very robust system but complex in many things.

Debian, Robust and safe
What do you like best about the product?
The "Debian" operating system is robust, powerful and stable free software that guarantees the applications installed on this platform work optimally and correctly. Its documentation and the post of help are very varied on the internet and it has command like MAN that offers the syntax of all the commands of the operating system by the console .. Actually have an operating system that does not generate the concerns of its operation and freedom of viruses is a minor burden for the user that increases their productivity.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is how difficult it is to install some applications because of the dependencies that are not installed in the system. So you spend time installing and downloading internet Internet programs and install it, where sometimes the dependencies installed depend on others and so on. Another of the negative aspects of debian is its graphic interface which is very elementary and unattractive to end users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Among the benefits of debian for the institute, is that it increased the speed of the personal computers to work with the program tools, since it does not require a powerful hardware to work with Debian. The other beneficial aspect is that with linux, computer viruses are null and this guarantees the integrity of the files and minimizes the loss of information
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If I would recommend Debian for those companies with obsolete equipment, with few resources to buy software licenses, where their technical service department is limited in number of workers and want to increase the productivity of their workers. I would also recommend it to install all the network services such as Internet Servers, Web Services, IP assignment, mail servers among others
