Great software with room for improvement.
What do you like best about the product?
Technology is always expanding. Reports can be customized. Widgets are great, and I love that you can change colors of some of them. Tagging system and adding missing coverage is easy to use. The Meltwater Academy is very helpful!
What do you dislike about the product?
Database is as up-to-date as other services like MuckRack. I don't like how the private database is seperate and not easy to merge. Renewal time can be stressful and pushy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding missing coverage, broadcast cover, and keep track of social media conversation. I would like to use it for media relations, but it is not as helpful there as I would like.
Intuitive, but still room to grow
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of different searches you can do on it. Also, the training is very helpful since Meltwater searches can get very complex

It doesn't always find everything on the internet under my search filters

Simplifies News Monitoring with Stellar Support
What do you like best about the product?
I find Meltwater incredibly valuable for several reasons. It simplifies the daunting task of sifting through hundreds of publications to find topics relevant to me, which is a significant time-saver. It stands out by finding mentions of my company that other services overlook, ensuring I miss no important updates. The ease with which I can create newsletters for my company is also a notable advantage. The user interface is easy to navigate, making my interactions with the software pleasant and hassle-free. Its flexibility and customizability allow me to tailor it to meet my specific needs effectively. I appreciate the continual updates Meltwater receives, as it has significantly improved since I started using it. The staff's dedication is evident in their customer service; they are approachable and responsive, ensuring any issues are swiftly addressed. Additionally, I find the in-browser widget very functional as it allows me to save articles efficiently for inclusion in my newsletter. Furthermore, the initial setup was very straightforward. The Meltwater team provided extensive support, guiding me and my team through the process with great patience and care.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating new searches in a more simplified way would be great. I also don't always have time for their latest features and they are a bit hard to intuit at first, but that is more about my time than them.

I use Meltwater to simplify reviewing publications for relevant topics, monitor overlooked company mentions, and create an internal newsletter quickly and easily.
Meltwater helps cut out the noise
What do you like best about the product?
The customer support is off the charts good.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a lot of background information to learn to really get to the media content you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping to pull the most relevant data weekly and how it relates for our competitors.
Great tool for community management and analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater makes community management super easy with the engage feature and ensures no messages or comments from our community are missed. The analytics feature is also very helpful for tracking the success of social content and identifying trends and the type of content that resonates well with our audience. I used both of these features on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater has some limitations, but they're primarily due to restrictions within the social platforms themselves. For example, it is unable to pull in mentions or tags from TikTok (only comments and replies).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater has simplified community management with its ability to pull in comments, mentions, tags, replies, and DMs across multiple social media platforms. I can easily track which messages need responding to and mark off completed ones.
Very comprehensive platform
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, very thorough, very helpful in my job
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of any downsides. Nothing I would change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps me monitor how our company is perceived on social media and what kind of traction we're getting online. It shows others' interests in what we offer.
Not worth the price
What do you like best about the product?
I find it very hard to find positives about Meltwater, both as a platform and a company. I find Meltwater to be essentially a glorified Google Alert and you can get the bulk of features for far cheaper from other companies. The onboarding experience was quite extensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is an incredibly expensive platform, and it is simply not worth the price. We were a user throughout 2023. However, we had some big strategic shifts happen in Q4 2023. They locked our company into a contract for the entirety of the 2024 year when we tried to cancel months before the subscription was even set to renew. This has cut our marketing budget off at the knees, which is hugely negatively impacting our marketing function for the 2024 year. This goes to show they do not care about the success of their clients, they simply care about their bottom line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We initially got meltwater to help optimize our PR function. Meltwater hasn't actually solved any of our problems or provided any benefits to our company. They certainly are not providing benefits for us in 2024, given that we were handcuffed into renewal.
Helping assign value to content
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater helps Wreaths Across America by monitoring our earned media coverage. By tracking media interest in our external content, we can determine what content/stories are of most interest to media outlets and, more importantly, when. This helps us not only shape the content we should be producing but also helps plan our communications calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only aspect of Meltwater that prevents us from going with this system 100% is that our emailing needs are greater than the number of emails allowed by your system (by a lot).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The PR monitoring software for Meltwater has proven itself to be more comprehensive in information gathering as opposed to other platforms. We can obtain a better picture of our outreach efforts by utilizing Meltwater's capabilities.
Meltwater allows users access to multiple tools to help with day-to-day brand management.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the social media scheduling tool and the journalist database.
What do you dislike about the product?
The templates tool does not allow users to view templates before sending them, nor does it offer examples of popular templates used by others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allows me to review analytics, track social engagement to aid in strategic planning and interact with media members for pitching opportunities.
