Meltwater for the Marketing team
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Meltwater is that we are able to collaboratively work with our writers and team members to draft and review social media posts.
What do you dislike about the product?
One part of Meltwater that could be improved is the notifications for comments on approvals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allows us to manage all of our social media for all of our different brands in one place.
Useful Tool for News Filtering
What do you like best about the product?
Overall I enjoyed Meltwater. Based on my pre-set filters, the morning news feed was an easy way to receive important and relevant news. I would consider using meltwater again once our company grew and had a more significant sales presence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Based on the size of our company some of the marketing features were not applicable to us. It could be better if there were features for smaller companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me get valuable information on licensing deals straight to my inbox.
Great for Media Listening and Superb Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater continues to be the leading tool for media listening — if you know a little boolean, you'll have no trouble setting up basic searches to find what you're looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Meltwater is great for media listening, monitoring and basic social management (making posts, replying to comments), the reporting available around community management (easily reviewing all tagging data, sentiment, inbound/outbound messages broken down by platform, etc) is lacking. That being said, my points of contact at Meltwater have been monumentally helpful in working with me to circumvent some of these shortcomings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater Conversations makes it easy to keep track of customer communications, which helps my team as we sift through a significant volume of inbound messages per day.

Powerful tool for media monitoring, earned media planning, reporting, and share of voice monitoring.
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and most of the time requires little to no training. The onboarding processes is easy and you can implement the tool fairly quickly.
We use it to monitor keywords, outlets, competitors and reporters in the news. In many cases, Meltwater helped us find coverage and people talking about our brand.
I've also found that our account rep is helpful with answering questions, setting up searches, and teaching the team.

What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a fan of Meltwater's constant upselling and sales team structure. It's obvious that the sales team's compensation or bonus structure is tied to account revenue, which leads to a constant sales cycle. I've had to ask Meltwater to tone down the constant upselling and remind them that we are happy with their service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps us monitor the news. We have multiple streams of earned media coverage that we need to cover including financial news, business news, social media, and premium content. It also helps me research reporters and news outlets when I'm looking to do media outreach.
A Powerful and Essential Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater provides insights and tools like no other on the market. To be able to pull ALL of our media and metrics from one place is essential to our business. It truly leaves no stone unturned when it comes to social, press releases and our local media coverage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the social feature was a little more user-friendly when it came to having multiple accounts. Switching between each account and scrolling down a long list of options can get a little confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, Meltwater has allowed us to consolidate our multiple subscriptions, into one. It provides use with a powerful but user-friendly interface that pulls multiple metrics for us and allows for hair-pin customization.

Meltwater is easy to use, the UX is great, and the customer service is unmatched.

The pricing for additional tools can add up quickly for a smaller business.

Meltwater makes it easy to track which posts perform well so we can keep learning our audience and see what content performs best.

Engagements rates are very helpful when building out client decks.

Very long time to process creators not already in the system. I receive many error messages.
