What do you like best about the product?
The information is really great and can't really be found anywhere else
What do you dislike about the product?
The new version (Search) is markedly slower than the old one (MAP). It has also switched to less information in some spots - there are a few locations where I used to be able to see volume and percentage but can now only see percentage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sysomos has helped give us a single tool to use for analysis instead of multiple.

What do you like best about the product?
The business / support team is very nice to customers. It's a cheaper alternative to better solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Literally everything. One of the worst platforrms I've ever used. Buggy, useless for comprehensive coverage reporting, missing contacts for tons of important media folks, overall horrible experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We realized very few benefits and it actually provided significantly more problems than it solved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't use them.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to pull lists of writers/influencers to reach out to based on relevant keywords for your release/content/etc. is fantastic. You can pull a list based on keywords you've already selected to use for your campaign and build new lists of contacts within minutes. You can then create a customized email (by first name, last name, etc) to send to the entire list. You can then also see the open rate and click rate on these emails. Much better than individual outreach regardless of it you are sending to 5 people or 500.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation tabs on the left are a little confusing at times to find what you are looking for, but then continue to make updates that have been helping.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pulling reports and adding them into results is as easy taking a screen shot or exporting. Definitely a time saver. Also, the outreach functionality saves me a ton of time and still looks like I'm sending out all of the emails personally.

Meltwater gets the job done, but could be a lot better

What do you like best about the product?
I can find the articles or segments that I’m looking for about 90% of the time, quickly and easily. It’s pretty easy to use and very easy to read/comprehend.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn’t pick up ALL of the articles or segments I’m looking for. Some things do fall through the cracks from time to time and sometimes the impressions don’t seem accurate either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a PR firm so I am regularly searching for media placements in which my clients were mentioned. It shows me all mentions across the country with just the click of a button.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s decently priced

What do you like best about the product?
I like using Meltwater to put out press releases. It makes it simple and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some things in the app are a little confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for an organization that partners with another organization in the United Kingdom. We used Meltwater to put out press releases between both organizations. The program is really beneficial because it helps two different organizations come together.

Useful but could be easier to set up

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to get daily notifications whenever a client was mentioned in the news. The sentiment scoring is easily visible and digestible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unless you know how to set it up properly, the data that is pulled will not be accurate and can misrepresent the landscape. Setting up the dashboard can take anywhere from 1-3 months with not so great customer help. Every time we'd ask for something to be done, our rep would tell us they were working on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to passively and proactively monitor new social media influencers, PR trends, and sending these results to clients (and ourselves) directly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to do your due diligence prior to signing on. If you KNOW what you want to do with Meltwater, it will be that much easier to direct your rep to implement those tools/rules.
