A great user platform with a wide array for PR and social needs
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly platform that PR managers can use on their own
What do you dislike about the product?
No real issues but it'd be great if more features can continue to be added to the platform to allow for more detailed and sophisticated searches

The training and support are very useful and helpful.

I get mildly frustrated that there is always something else that my account reps are trying to sell me. Let me try the product before up-selling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program has replaced a much more expensive and less supportive version of Media/PR software while adding the Engage capability.
Solid media monitoring service
What do you like best about the product?
Reliable with great customer service. Easy to use, lots of support available when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to create and design newsletters through a drag and drop interface would be helpful. Currently they have to be programmed on their end.

Media monitoring, news aggregation, social media anlytics.
Meltwater is awesome, but with some issues

Once your Boolean is setup correctly, the results returned are very useful

If your Boolean is not setup correctly, the results returned can be very unhelpful

Market intelligence, tracking customers' names in the news, finding new avenues for business.

Before diving into an expensive platform, first figure our what your needs are and what you are trying to capture.

Meltwater has a very easy to use platform that has many useful tools to track media sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no issues with the Meltwater product we have encountered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have improved our awareness of issues impacting our industry. We can see conversations and tags related to our issues and what is being said.
Meltwater Is Comprehensive
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is very user-friendly and direct. There are so many functions available, from sending press releases to pitching leads and activity reports. The platform's multi functioning is a real advantage.
What do you dislike about the product?
When searching for contacts in a specific geographic location, the search on the map can get a little clunky and not targeted enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to focus our delivery to very specific locations and sources, in terms of who is writing about specific trending topics. The benefit to this is streamlining the kinds of articles we send out to specific outlets or contacts. Also, with the detailed information on each outlet, it helps to have a name to direct the release to.

What do you like best about the product?
The powerful connection tools to industry professionals have proved invaluable. I use the platform as much--if not more often--to seek out new contacts and connections as I do to publish news releases. I liked the platform so much that I recommended its use to our nationally-scoped parent organization and we now use Meltwater across the country.
What do you dislike about the product?
as a rapidly evolving business, Meltwater is often buying up companies in order to absorb the technology and functionality of those acquisitions into their own platform, and/or strike new contracts to use the resources of other companies. That's great, and does make for a very robust platform, but it has meant numerous changes to the functionality over the last few years, and the rapid changes have been hard to keep up with at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
traditional and social media monitoring of all types are under one roof. It's great. Searching for regionally and topically-specific contacts are all in one place. Distributing news is easy and has excellent tracking tools. The platform is a time-saver, having all those functions in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
their customer service is really engaged and responsive, so the onboarding for the product was really enjoyable. They also offered a competitive price point for my organization (non-profit), which made it all the more attractive as a tool.
Great tool, especially for tracking but as a new user can be difficult to learn how to use at first
What do you like best about the product?
I get alerts in the morning and afternoon so I am always kept up to date. I also like how I can go directly to the source from the alert.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still don't fully know how to manage the dashboard and how to use them to my advantage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am getting relative competitive intel much quicker. Which helps a lot to keep the Sales Team at the company in the know of what's going on in the industry.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you sign on you have to make it a priority to really learn the platform in order to take full advantage of its benefits. Make sure you are always in contact with your account manager and ask all the questions you need. They are a great resource for making the best use of the platform.

What do you like best about the product?
They make it easy to find all relevant media for our daily report.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't select multiple reports and get analytics. You need to do one report at a time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to keep track of what else is going on in the industry at a glance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to see at a glance what competitors are doing in the media this is a great tool to add to your company!
Consistently great to work with
What do you like best about the product?
Our account team really takes a consultative approach to our reviews, trying to find ways to make Meltwater work better for us. Customer help is always available and the team is so fast to respond - even on a Sunday!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing negative about Meltwater I can think of!

Targeted reach, tracking trends and who is writing about them. Insight reporting is top notch!
