What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the simplicity of the platform, the ability to customize notifications and the reporting tools and overall ease of scanning media for Seattle U.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater has been a great tool. I don't currently have any recommended changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As Seattle U works to promote our value and provide visibility to our educational promise and academic excellence, Meltwater allows us to see the reach of our content. And the reporting has been a tangible way for us to show the importance of marketing and communications, reputation and relationship building in influencing a very cluttered and competitive sector that is higher education.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater is easy to use, provides a great deal of relevant information, and that the customer support is prompt and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater does not have everything I need in terms of social media publishing and reporting at this time, but I understand that much of this is on the roadmap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to score my social media reports using Meltwater data in concert with another social media platform. We are also more aware of mentions where we are not tagged.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Devote time early on to fully onboard yourself and your team. Take Meltwater trainings and use the tool daily.

Valuable Tool in Improving Organization's Communications Strategy

What do you like best about the product?
The Influencer search feature is incredibly helpful, and I love the ability to create a custom reporting dashboard that can then be shared with superiors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know why the platform isn't able to filter out stories that are obviously sent over the wire and thus pasted verbatim when looking through my inbox. Seeing one iteration of the story is enough - I don't need to see all of the syndicated copies!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most critical part of Meltwater to me is the ability to really refine and target my media lists. Our previous communications consultant shared a list with us, which I was able to upload to Meltwater and combine with their Influencer search tool to create very specific media lists. Another critical problem I am solving is knowing what my organization's reach is, in a variety of contexts. Before Meltwater, we did not collect analytics on our communications and now that we do, I am able to continually improve our practices.

What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty intuitive and easy to use. Having the live chat is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes searches miss articles that Google Alerts finds. There are some publications on Meltwater that don't have reach numbers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding articles on specific topics or finding reporters; creating and distributing news releases; having access to "reach."
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good, solid tool with great support.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, ability to search for influencers, and the database.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it does not have a spell check function for sending emails. You have to place a document in word to check the spelling and then transfer it to the email. It would be easier to create the document in the email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I now have a database of reporters with the correct information that is constantly being updated by someone else. I can also see if my news releases are being read, which allows me to change my approach if something isn't working.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Meltwater for its database, ease of use, and customer service.

We are able to share stories on our social media pages within days of getting the news stories as well as complete research and add information to our database.

What do you like best about the product?
My usage of the Meltwater platform has been solely with the Engage portion and it has been a wonderful overall experience. The ease of the platform is one of the best things. There have been times when I am on a deadline and I can pull up reports on a specific topic or campaign and it was helps drive my points with upper management. The customer service we've received has been amazing. Meltwater really listens to my concerns or if I get stuck they are quick to respond with a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only "complaint" is that there are quite a bit of features and some allow you to create a very in-depth report. Which can be a little time consuming but can definitely come in handy when you need a more detailed report to present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Meltwater Engage I have been able to easily provide sponsorship fulfillment reports which were taking me quite a bit of time to produce manually through the regular Facebook analytics. Now, I'm able to produce them at a moment's notice and I'm confident they'll convey just what I'm trying to present. The tracking of each individual platform allows me to see which social media platform needs a little more of my attention.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has all the information that we need, when we need it. If something is missing, we have a direct contact to reach out to and they always respond and add our new sources same day. The customer management team is suburb and the platform itself is easy to navigate and user friendly. I'm not tech-savvy, but Meltwater is intuitive and helps call out important things with the customized and targeted notification emails.
Plus, you're able to set notifications for everyone on your team so you don't have to be the middleman. You can set up the platform to send each team member the news and social alerts that are relevant to their role without them all having to use the platform themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite thing is how often our account manager reaches out to schedule sales calls. I love all of the new features and services they are adding to the platform, but I will reach out if/when I have the budget to upgrade. I also don't like that I have to login every time I go to the site. I don't have this problem with the app, but the website will not allow me to stay logged in no matter what I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Meltwater to monitor various news topics and keywords. There is the added benefit of social listening since we are able to save new searches and social searches. Meltwater also help improve our reporting with their simple custom dashboards and increase employee efficiency with personalized notifications that ensures we never miss a beat.
We are also in the beginning stages of planning influencer events and their influencer targeting feature has made it so much easier! With things changing so frequently due to COVID-19, it is essential for us to have the flexibility to use these features whenever we need and not pay each time we need to update our influencer list.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the search functions and the ability to edit broadcast clips.
What do you dislike about the product?
The clips expire after 30 days and Meltwater doesn't pull enough non-English sources.

Media scanning - Meltwater has made this process easier.

What do you like best about the product?
ease of use, our account rep listened to us regarding an issue with the account that occured in 2019 and rectified the situation
What do you dislike about the product?
having to manually add articles that aren't captured (but I like the feature), the fact that you ahve to pay extra for a service to access articles behind a paywall
