Meltwater Has Been Best PR Platform We've Used

meltwater has helped us generate press mentions and the benefits are countless, like driving more traffic to our website

i would first try meltwater before any other or platform, we made the switch and never looked back

What do you like best about the product?
Daily updates help me stay on top of the relevant news and trends. I share these daily with my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle finding new ways to use the tool. I know there are resources, I just don't have the time to play with this valuable tool as much as I would like to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Distributing press releases, identifying new relevant news articles and trends in my markets. I look forward to find more uses for the service.
Just about as customizable as you could ask for!
What do you like best about the product?
I am a current user of Meltwater, and I like that it tracks both web hits as well as broadcast hits. I also like that it has a scoring factor for publications, so that you can track the truest impact of each placement, rather than just raw totals. The customer service is also superb. Any question that I have, my account manager is always willing to brainstorm with me either over Zoom or through email, and the chat function is also incredibly supportive. It is a fantastic monitoring tool, and if you work with your account manager, can be a very great data collection tool as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a true reflection of all of our media hits. It does not include impact of print pieces and some of the radio stations in Minnesota, it does not track. Although we do not use the sentiment feature for any data collection, it is more often than not, incorrect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem we are solving with Meltwater is how to measure the impact of our media relations efforts. For the first time, we are able to set annual objectives to strive for each fiscal year based on previous years' data. We are also able to pull quick data on various media outlets to determine whether or not they are good fits for media pitches, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend determining if your organization really wants to use this data before investing in it. If the organization just wants media monitoring, you can get a sub-par job of that done through Google Alerts. This system really lets you dive deep into analytics, and an organization should invest both the time and money into making it useful tool if purchased.

Meltwater is a LIFE SAVER
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can go in and type up content that you want to post and then assign it to be reviewed. This not only saves us time but is also just so easy to have everything in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is anything I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With meltwater, we are able to see what we have planned out for social every day of every week. That way we know that if we need content on one of our social platforms, we can find something to post instead of not knowing since it isn't laid out in front of us and having nothing to go out. This has increased the traffic to all of our social platforms and continues to improve each month.

What do you like best about the product?
As a social media manager, I find the listening and influencer tools to be invaluable. The tools allow deep research capabilities that I haven't found elsewhere. The level of support I have received from the company has been amazing. Whenever I have a question or need support- they answer via email almost immediately and setup a video call so we can talk about what I want to do, how to accomplish it, and help me set it up on the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboards and setting up boolean searches can be a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social listening for my audience and competitors. It's a lot to keep track of, and meltwater makes it easier for me.

It's expensive but worth it.
Quick, simple media tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Saved searches make generating weekly client reports super quick. Easy to set up. Great customer service. TVEyes integration makes finding televised stories relatively easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
TVEyes still needs some help finding Spanish content, especially here on the border. But customer support is usually very helpful in locating any stories that TVEyes doesn't immediately pick up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy solution for generating media lists, especially for out-of-town or national clients. Quick and easy way to find televised media for clients, as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Meltwater for organizations looking for a simple all-in-one solution for tracking traditional, social and televised media, seeking media contacts and/or generating reports. Support is always very available and will quickly help answer any questions and usually have a solution for any problems. They can quickly help set up a search or locate a news item I'm having difficulty finding within 24 hours. Setting up saved searches is quick and easy and modifying them on any needed basis is also easy. Using meltwater has significantly cut down on the time spent each week generating media reports for several clients.
Generating mailing lists is also easy and sending out pitches via meltwater was easy to set up and also helps save a tremendous amount of time verses creating a list in a spreadsheet and exporting to Gmail. I have found that the vast majority of contacts generated in Meltwater are current and up to date, as well.

Steadfastly Reliant on Our Eye in the Sky
What do you like best about the product?
What we like the most about Meltwater is that it gives us the ability to keep track of the global conversation happening about us. Who wouldn't want to know what people are saying around the world?
What do you dislike about the product?
It's pricey. It's about as pricey as a full time employee in these parts, but far more reliable and consistent. Just saying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater solves the problem of folks impinging on our brand or selling our products illegitimately. Today, everyone, even small brick and mortar stores, rely on social media. They can't sell T-shirts with our brand without us knowing because Meltwater is our eye in the sky that sees everything and reports on it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to keep people from impinging on your trademark or your good name, or trying to pretend to be you, you must have this tool because it alerts you to anything being said or done (on the world wide web) in your name. I have tried to use some of their other tools, but by far, the thing Meltwater excels at is their core business of keeping track of the global conversation about your business. They do that very well.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the weekly media monitoring reports as well as the media contact database and the ability to create custom lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike when irrelevant media mentions are included in the weekly monitoring reports. Also, there have been times when it's hard to customize a search query when creating media lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're staying abreast of when our company and key stakeholders are mentioned in the news. We also now have a resource for maintaining current contact info for reporters/editors, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to Navigate, I can find all the articles and news related to our brand in one place. The graphs are amazing and provide a visual as to how our brand is trending.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really dont have anything to dislike.All of the access Meltwater has to offer is awsome and useful with our brand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment we don't have any issues to resolve , The benefits I have noticed have been we are able to see in the charts the best way to reach our audience.
