Provides visibility into the status of applications and seamless automation via the pipeline, but the false positives have room for improvement

  • July 18, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

When we develop an application with source code built on Java, JavaScript, and mobile technologies such as Android and iOS, we ensure that the source code is free from security vulnerabilities before sending it to production. To achieve this, we package our source code and scan it using Veracode. This scanning process is our primary use case.

We set up pipelines for this purpose, and the warehouse operates on a cloud provider. To make the Veracode API calls for support, we utilize Veracode API libraries which use the URL that is hosted on the cloud. We then initiate a scan on our source code, which goes through different stages, including scan, upload, rescan, validation, and finally, we obtain the results.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode provides visibility into the status of applications at every phase of development to a certain extent. Veracode scan reports present a comprehensive view of planned releases that are scheduled to go live in the coming days. To keep the team informed, we run a scheduled deployment, sending email notifications twice a week for each application. This alerts the team to any issues that may need fixing. However, it's worth noting that the system is not fully integrated into the pipeline and notifications. Nevertheless, Veracode offers an API. This interface allows us to obtain the XML result file, and subsequently, I can extract and analyze the values from the XML. Once the scan is complete, Veracode API will fetch the XML report and store it in my workspace within the pipeline. From there, I can execute an XML parser function to obtain the application status results.

Veracode has been helpful in reducing our developers' time by around fifty percent. For an application to meet internet safety standards, the code must achieve the VL4 level in Veracode. According to Veracode reports, our developers can focus more on resolving the issues rather than trying to identify them.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the seamless automation of Veracode via the pipeline, in comparison to other solutions like Fortify SSC, which are complex to integrate through the pipeline. Although there is a lot of coding involved in writing each end, Veracode breaks the process down into multiple steps. We first package our source code and upload it, after which a pre-scan is conducted. If the pre-scan identifies any files that don't conform to the Veracode format, it will display a warning or prompt us to correct the issues before proceeding. This allows us to have programmable control; in fact, we can program Veracode so that after the upload is completed, it automatically scans the files to check if they are all in Veracode format.

For example, my ZIP file contains a hundred files. Out of these, ninety files meet Veracode's criteria, while ten files are incorrect. I can instruct Veracode, through pipeline automation, not to wait for manual action and continue with the scan or upload the scan results. Veracode can automatically proceed with the selected files in this scenario. All of this can be controlled programmatically. Furthermore, once the scan report is generated, it becomes available in the workspace, and we can send an email with this report as an attachment. This type of report is referred to as a detailed Veracode report and can be customized. Typically, we prefer the customized report, while some developers may also opt for XML reports. The ability to manage this sequence of steps in the Veracode scan is programmable and can be handled accordingly.

What needs improvement?

Veracode's false positives have room for improvement. For example, if there is an applicant named ABC in Veracode. I have uploaded my Java file, which contains a hundred lines of code. I suspect that the ninetieth line includes a hard-coded password. Thus, during the scan, it will identify the presence of a hard-coded password on the ninetieth line and suggest how to mitigate and resolve this issue. In the next scan, I added fifty more lines of support and fixed the password-related problem. However, the line containing the password is no longer at the ninetieth position; it has moved to the hundredth line. Despite these changes, the next scan still detects the password flaw. Even though I encrypted the password and added the required string, the issue continues to be flagged. This constant flagging of the issue, even after resolving it, is one of the major drawbacks. To overcome this problem, we decided to create another application. This action was taken to prevent the recurrence of such issues. In the future, when I have a release in the coming months, I cannot keep encountering this problem repeatedly, as it still flags the issue as long as the code is in a different line. We have spoken to the vendor several times about this issue and scheduled a work order consultation call, but we did not receive a response.

In order to achieve software consolidation and analysis reports for Android applications, we need to utilize a third-party utility called SourceClear along with Veracode scanning. This complicates the market and has room for improvement.

When scanning a file that is over one gigabyte in size, there is a high chance that Veracode will continue scanning. When we initially encountered this issue and investigated it, we raised a ticket. As a result, a Database Lock occurred, causing Veracode to become stuck.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for almost four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability at seven out of ten, considering the false positive issues we are experiencing.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Veracode is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I am not entirely satisfied with the technical support because I believe we have been waiting to send our code to production and waiting for an update from the vendor to resolve the issue. When we raise a support case, there is no response, and even after it happens two or three times, I don't know if they read the details of the issue when a ticket is raised. If someone has already attended to the same call, they will not attend again; instead, a new person handles it. Consequently, we have to explain everything all over again to the new person. We are aware that they know they don't have a solution for this problem. However, by the time we explain it to the new person, they ask the same questions again. Each consultation lasts 40 to 45 minutes, and we are billed for them, but we spend most of the time repeating what the issue is.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. Even the pipeline setup is easy because there is an API, so we don't need instructions. Veracode is hosted in the cloud, so we need to set up a firewall to connect to it via proxy. The deployment took a few weeks because we had to figure out how to perform the scanning from the pipeline, enable the scan, and upload the scans for each Veracode API. Additionally, we had to seek assistance from HR to implement all the steps, which took some time.

What other advice do I have?

I give Veracode a six out of ten.

We cannot simply create one policy and claim it is compliant unless all my issues are thoroughly flagged based on that compliance and the complaint. As technology improves and we move forward, bugs and certain issues may arise, and we may not always know the solutions or the severity level of their impact. Considering this perspective, Veracode is acceptable. I will illustrate this with another tool, Fortify SSC. Suppose there are newly added licenses or rules for software compliance in their security scanning tool. In Veracode, if I wish to update the new compliance tools or checks that the algorithms run against it, I must obtain approval from the architect. This approach has its advantages. However, in the case of the tool I am currently working on, Fortify SSC, there is something called a 'rule pack' for each language. I have the option to keep the existing version of the rules or upgrade to the latest rule pack. This feature works as a toggle option in Veracode.

Tuning policies is essentially the application of specific policies. When we deploy a policy, it affects all our scans and issues. The new policies applied are divided by Veracode and, when implemented, impact all the applications. Therefore, most of the time, when we apply a new policy, there is a chance that if there are three flaws, we can assume there are thirteen million flaws in my current scan. If a policy is applied, there are definitely ten to fifteen additional issues in the new scan after implementing the updated policy. Thus, there is always an increase in the number of flaws when there is a new policy update.

There are certain flaws. For example, I am releasing a package into production, and I conducted a Veracode scan against the source code, which is stored in the bin bucket. So, even if I fix the issue on my own, the same issue will be flagged again due to the change in client number. This is a significant problem because we cannot explain to the higher management that the report contains the password, and we have already taken measures to mitigate the issue. We cannot claim that this issue has already been fixed, as it continues to resurface. It is a Veracode issue, not one originating from us, but it becomes complicated when higher management sees a report indicating the same issue from the previous month. We don't know what to do. One of the ways we addressed the issue was by reducing the number of times the same issue occurs. For instance, in my previous work at a bank, we had applications specific to each country, like one for Singapore, one for Malaysia, and so on for most Southeast Asian countries. Although our master bank application was the main source, we created individual applications for each country in Veracode. As a result, the number of false positives or issues that were previously mitigated or closed and kept reappearing from month to month was reduced, but they were not completely eliminated. By switching to a different application for each country the false positives were reduced by around seventy percent.

Our organization was approached to adopt Snyk; however, it is a startup solution, and the bank prefers something that is well-established. Currently, we are using Fortify SSC.

We have a five-person IT team that is responsible for all the DevOps tasks, including Veracode.

Compared to Fortify SSC, which has a complicated setup requiring three installations, Veracode is easier because the app is hosted in the cloud. All we need is a support license, and they will create a project for us. We can create a firewall proxy, and the API pipeline is already in place. To create a scan for another application, we simply copy and paste the code and change the application's name.

The CI/CD integration is valuable, prevents vulnerable code, and provides end-to-end visibility

  • July 17, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use Veracode for static code analysis scans for our clients.

Veracode is deployed both on the cloud and on-premises.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode helps prevent vulnerable code from being deployed into production by identifying problematic code. It enables us to send a report to the application developer, allowing them to address the vulnerabilities based on their criticality level. The developers are given six months to address medium-level issues and three months for critical ones. If the criteria are not mapped with the higher critical alerts present in those applications, we can enforce the build field and proceed without deploying it into production.

Veracode has helped improve our customers' organizations through the scanning taskbar, which identifies vulnerabilities in code. We have worked with ten clients, all of whom used Veracode to identify vulnerable code early in the development stage and resolve the issues. Additionally, Veracode offers Greenlight ID, which developers can integrate into their development process, providing clarity during the development phase. Veracode can also generate reports that developers can resolve, facilitating the quick resolution of security concerns.

The policy reporting for ensuring compliance with industry standards is excellent. The report helps us maintain our compliance.

It offers visibility into the application's status at every phase of development, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, composition analysis, and manual penetration testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

Visibility aids the DevSecOps process by offering a clear framework for all involved departments, including the steps for handling severities.

Veracode assists our clients in addressing flaws by simplifying the process. The security team can review the code, approve or reject it, and developers can utilize the reports to promptly rectify the flaws.

It assists developers in saving approximately 20 percent of their time, primarily in the static part, as they no longer need to review all the code. Regarding the dynamic part, Veracode scans all the URLs, eliminating the necessity for developers to use additional tools. For third-party dependencies, developers depend on the reports and the Greenlight ID plug-in to streamline their workflow and save time.

Our clients depend on Veracode to improve their security stance.

What is most valuable?

The CI/CD integration is the most valuable feature of Veracode. This feature is not present in other solutions.

What needs improvement?

The analytics dashboard is not user-friendly and can be improved to assist us with the application size and enable modifications, whether for static or dynamic scans. This is currently missing in Veracode.

Veracode needs to improve its integration with other tools.

We have requested an enhancement for Veracode because it does not support scanning the static and dynamic elements of code created by MuleSoft. Furthermore, it does not support these aspects for the new generation of applications and we have to use other tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for over seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

If there is an issue, I am unable to access all the logs due to insufficient permissions, which causes delays.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Veracode is scalable. To increase the scale, we simply need to increase the number of licenses.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team's response time is inadequate. Typically, they fail to provide assistance beyond the initial call due to the limited knowledge and inability of the first-level support to resolve issues effectively. I have been dealing with a single issue for three weeks without any resolution.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The vendor handles the deployment, and we simply need to install the ISM agents on our network. The deployment time depends on the size of the application. Large applications may take up to five days to scan, but on average, it takes one or two days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing depends on the functionality each client desires. For example, one of our clients only wishes to scan two applications, so they pay for that specific service in addition to our organization's third-party access to their system.

What other advice do I have?

I give Veracode an eight out of ten.

20 to 30 percent of the false positive rates are vulnerabilities. Sometimes, almost 50 percent of the reports are false positives, which affects the time spent on tuning policies.

The false positives increase the amount of time our developers need to spend investigating the reports.

Veracode offers static analysis, dynamic analysis, and composition analysis all in one place.

We are a team of five individuals who assist in deploying and managing Veracode, along with handling other tasks.

Our client base varies depending on their budgets, but we serve a large number of organizations in the financial industry.

I recommend Veracode. The solution is on par with the others, and organizations can read the reviews and run some tests before making a purchase.

We are able to create more applications and code more, while worrying less about errors while coding

  • July 10, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The main purpose of Veracode is to deliver secure code on time. We use it to test our application security, at the implementation stage to make sure that code is secure. We do static and dynamic testing, as well as penetration testing with Veracode. We also use it for security threat detection for our enterprise applications.

How has it helped my organization?

It empowers our developers to fix security issues and achieve desired outcomes. It's a very secure cloud platform and helps us monitor our web sources for any attack. We have been able to completely secure our enterprise software, which is on the cloud, with the solution. Overall, we have been able to reduce the risk factors for our enterprise software. Also, determining security threats to our application happens faster now with the help of Veracode. The benchmarking capabilities against industry standards and the compliance help us a lot.

Veracode also provides a lot of programming language support and different frameworks are available, which enables us to get things into production much more efficiently. Our SDLC has become much smoother and more secure with Veracode.

And it has definitely helped our developers save time. It helps them with future references because, if they write code one time with errors that Veracode finds, the next time they use that as a reference and don't repeat the mistake. In that way, in the continuous development process, a lot of time is saved. It saves us about 20 percent of our time.

We are able to create more applications now, and code more, while worrying less about errors while coding. Worrying about fixing the flaws in an application is completely taken care of by Veracode, so we are able to focus more on creating new code and developing new applications. Veracode has been a great platform for that particular purpose.

We have also found more security vulnerabilities in our code, which has helped us produce much better applications for our end-users. Most of the time, vulnerabilities go unnoticed by humans. Veracode helps us pinpoint the exact vulnerability, what it affects, and it helps us correct it for future reference.

What is most valuable?

One cool feature is the static code scan, which is very good.

Also, the dashboards and the threat insights it provides are very good. The dashboards are intuitive and pretty straightforward, but also pretty detailed.

We get good, actionable insights at each stage, including static, dynamic, and penetration analysis, and it reduces overhead for us.

It also has compliance monitoring and reporting capabilities that I like very much. The compliance reporting is a great feature because there are a lot of different frameworks and channels, and each unique channel has its individual compliance monitoring and policies. Veracode helps us prepare for all the different challenges.

What needs improvement?

The false positive rate is a gray area. The number of false positives could be reduced a lot. For each good result, we are getting somewhere around 15 to 20 false positives. We expect false positives, but if that ratio could be reduced to a single-digit number for the false positives, that would be much more helpful.

We are spending some manual effort and time on this because it happens sometimes, when we first scan code, that it says there is no threat. And the second time we scan it, it says there is a threat. Those kinds of positive responses make us do double work. If that was better, it would greatly improve our overall efficiency.

Apart from the false positives, I would like to see more plugins and integrations to make Veracode much more user-friendly for developers and users. Any IDE plugins would make our work faster.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience with Veracode has been over 12 to 14 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Overall, because it is a cloud platform, stability is not a concern. It's quite stable. To be strict about things, the UI can be very slow. There is downtime now then, and I understand why it happens, but I would appreciate it if that happened less.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are not going to scale it right now. We have about 18 developers and five or six administrators using the solution, and I don't expect that will change for now. But you can purchase more licenses. It's definitely scalable in that sense.

We have it in a single location only and it is used across three or four development teams in our office.

How are customer service and support?

Veracode support is very knowledgeable and very prompt. The Veracode community is also available, which is very good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

It's only deployed on the cloud. Although I was not a part of the initial deployment, I know for a fact that the deployment can take a long time.

As for maintenance, there are software updates, but apart from downloading the software updates, there isn't any other maintenance required on our side. It's a cloud platform so it self-maintains.

What was our ROI?

Our ROI is that we have seen a tremendous increase in the overall security of our enterprise software. It has helped us engage better with our clients and our retention rate has increased about 7 percent. We can't pinpoint that directly to using Veracode, but since we started using it we have seen this retention increase.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is fair. We are planning to renew for the next year.

It's definitely value for money. I would tell someone who is looking at Veracode not to be concerned about the pricing because the value that they will get, for this price, in the market, is very good when it comes to their long-term plans.

What other advice do I have?

If a proof of concept is possible, I would ask you to try it out first to get a sense of what Veracode is before investing. But investing in this tool is very much needed. With security threats, for long-term purposes, the code-level threat detection and code-level error detection are very much needed by any organization.

Prevents vulnerable code, offers valuable recommendations, and frequent updates

  • June 21, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our primary objective when using Veracode was to ensure the security of website development and other application developments we were working on. We aimed to prevent any security breaches and also closely monitor any potential vulnerabilities that could arise from code deployment. Fortunately, we were successful in identifying and addressing these vulnerabilities.

Although the responses were somewhat mixed, we managed to go two years without a single security breach, which was a significant achievement. In addition to monitoring security breaches, we utilized Veracode for continuous monitoring. The difference lies in the fact that once the code is deployed and access to the server is initiated, there is a high possibility of connecting to a different server or encountering interference from unauthorized individuals. This continuous monitoring allows us to observe each step of the server, including the IP addresses and protocols, and ensure their proper functioning. Veracode facilitated us in carrying out this monitoring effectively.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode's ability to prevent vulnerable code from entering production is remarkable. We were once alerted that there was a possibility of a breach occurring. Despite spending hours pondering the issue, we were unable to determine how that possibility existed. After discussing with the support team, we eventually learned the cause. Therefore, in terms of detecting vulnerabilities, it was excellent. However, the problem arose from the fact that it was not well-customized for our organization. Consequently, there were multiple instances where flags were raised for our IP address or email, which we knew were not vulnerabilities. In such cases, we had to address them accordingly.

Veracode's reporting feature provides comprehensive insights into the security status of our code or application. These reports generated by Veracode offer visibility into vulnerabilities and different severity levels of threats that may be present. They also recommend remediation steps to address these issues without extensive code modifications. I find this reporting feature valuable. Additionally, Veracode regularly releases updates, sometimes multiple times a day, ensuring that we are consistently up to date. Although this requires my engineers to work extensively on integrating AWS services with our platform, it is one of the standout features of Veracode due to the recommendations and frequent updates it provides.

Veracode's policy reporting for ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations is on the mark. Everything was proceeding as it should, with adherence to the established procedures, protocols, and reporting mechanisms by both the organization and the support team. At no point did we feel that the industry standards were compromised.

Veracode provides visibility into the application's status at every phase of development. Primarily, we were only conducting two types of tests. One was continuous integration, which keeps track of the entire application's deployment process. It detects any defects and ensures a smooth deployment. The other test we used to perform at certain times was manual integration. We would delve deeper and test additional aspects because we wanted to ensure with utmost precision that there were no vulnerabilities when deploying the application. Hence, we also had to manually utilize this program before deploying or pushing it to the code.

When conducting the cost-benefit analysis for Veracode after six months, we discovered that there were actually only two significant security breach possibilities. With the assistance of the solution, we were able to detect and resolve these breaches. The most significant advantage provided by the solution was the assurance that no breaches were occurring outside of the office. Any potential risks were either determined to be false alarms or promptly addressed. Therefore, the only actual breaches we encountered during the six-month period were two. However, we also gained a sense of security, which I consider to be a worthwhile trade-off for the cost.

Speaking specifically about the security department of our company, there was a notable reduction in costs after the introduction of Veracode. However, when considering the broader scope of all the development departments, we not only had to invest more time in each project but also had to hire additional resources. Consequently, when taking into account all the departments collectively, the overall expenses increased. However, focusing solely on the security development department, there was a substantial decrease in costs, approximately $7,000 per month.

What is most valuable?

The recommendations and frequent updates are the most valuable features of Veracode.

What needs improvement?

The false positive rates were quite high in our case. Prior to seeking a solution, we had already engaged in discussions with their support team, who also confirmed this issue. We had read a few reviews, which indicated the presence of false positives. However, in our specific situation, the number of false positives was substantial. There were instances when we logged in during the morning and encountered 30 or 40 raised flags. Resolving them sometimes occupied a significant portion of our day, often extending into the first half. Thus, in certain projects we undertook, the occurrence of false positives was considerably elevated. Despite being aware of this, we acknowledged that a majority of these flags were likely false. Nonetheless, due to the matter of security, we had to address them, resulting in a significant allocation of our time.

The false positive rate of the static analysis has impacted the time we spend on fine-tuning policies. We have had to allocate a considerable portion of the software team's time to address the significant number of false positives, resulting in substantial time investment. Additionally, some of our projects with clients have been delayed due to this issue. One particular project experienced a delay of approximately 25 days, with false positive cases accounting for an estimated 60 to 75 percent of the delay. The cost of the false positive rate is causing a slight disruption in the development process. Therefore, I believe this is the major area that needs improvement.

We initially deployed on the AWS cloud because AWS also offers us additional security benefits and most of our other solutions were already on AWS. However, I think Veracode could develop a self-contained cloud system, allowing them to deploy the solution on their own system. This would be beneficial for us as they could provide the data privacy we require. It would be great because each new update on the security process necessitates a slight change in the program.

The reporting features could be subcategorized if the bugs are categorized and subcategorized according to our requirements rather than the understanding of the security system. This would be beneficial because whenever we need to integrate or resolve a bug, it is crucial for us to identify the vulnerable parts of our code. This process requires additional time and effort. Moreover, it is often challenging for us to comprehend the specific changes the system expects from us.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Veracode, in my opinion, was not very reliable considering the need to consider false positive readings. We had to invest a significant amount of time rectifying or addressing those inaccurate queries, which made it a less-than-ideal solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe the solution is scalable. I remember a time when we were working with four clients in total. Even though our agreement with Veracode was not to exceed three projects, we were able to manage that, and everything went smoothly. They were even able to implement registration. This probably occurred due to significant delays in one of our projects. I was able to onboard the next client, which means we were working with four clients at that time.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team is knowledgeable. In the initial stages, when our team lacked the technical capability to perform manual configurations on our own, they assisted us with that. Overall, the experience was satisfactory. Nothing extraordinary, but it was good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was fairly straightforward, although it did take us some time. Our team lacked the necessary technical capabilities since it was a new endeavor. Before Veracode, our company didn't have any other security measures in place. Since it was a new concept, our employees also had a technical knowledge gap, which required some time for learning. However, the deployment process, on the whole, wasn't overly technical. It was done in two or three stages. The first stage involved initial queue meetings to understand the configurations we were using for deploying the code. The subsequent meetings focused on understanding the features we desired, how they would be implemented, and accessed, and their frequencies. Following that, the tech team took over and handled the deployment for us.

Six engineers were involved in the deployment, although the entire working team comprised twenty-two people.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation was completed in-house.

What was our ROI?

It is quite challenging to calculate ROI. However, I can confidently state that over the course of two years, we did not experience a single security breach. Furthermore, we ensured that our solutions were free from any vulnerabilities when delivering them to our clients. As a result, we established a positive reputation with our clients, as evidenced by the certification from Veracode, confirming the absence of vulnerabilities in our overall feature or code deployment. In summary, we maintained a flawless record of zero security breaches. Despite the difficulty in conducting a cost-benefit analysis, it remains an essential task.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I believe the price is fair according to market standards. However, if we are anticipating a growth phase in the enterprise, it might be a bit costly for us. On the other hand, if we are currently making profits and aiming to stabilize ourselves while improving our solutions and working with our existing team, it suited us well during that period. We were focused on developing the final product, refining protocols, and enhancing overall product development processes for our brands. Therefore, I believe it was a good fit for us. However, organizations that are in a growth phase may want to consider other options, even if it means compromising slightly on the security aspect.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We previously evaluated other solutions. One of the primary reasons for choosing Veracode was the ability to configure it at a deeper level, which was not possible with the other solutions. Another advantage was that the other solutions did not offer a six-month trial period, unlike Veracode. We initially had a trial for six months, which was later extended to one and a half years. Therefore, pricing became the third factor. However, even at the end of the two-year subscription, we were unable to conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis. This seems to be a common situation in the industry. Without experiencing a breach, it is difficult to assess the cost-effectiveness of a solution.

What other advice do I have?

I give Veracode a nine out of ten. I believe that, in general, Veracode is a good product. False positives and these types of issues can be found in almost every security product out there. The best part was Veracode's technical team. They were proficient in their knowledge and there was never a moment of misunderstanding between our team and theirs. Overall, Veracode ensured that we did not encounter any ransomware or security breaches at any point in time.

Our DevSecOps team was involved in two stages of the entire process. The first stage was during the initial design phase of the specific application build. We had to determine when and where we wanted to manually interpret using the tool, as well as identify potential security breaches that required close monitoring. This was the initial step. Following that, our team proceeded with development, which typically progressed smoothly in collaboration with the client for a period of two to three weeks. As we approached the deployment phase, we would once again discuss with their team to determine specific points where DevSecOps would manually deploy the solution for testing purposes. Afterward, we would assess the solution from our end.

The false positive rate did not have a negative effect on the confidence of our development team. It was made very clear to us by Veracode's support team, as well as through other reviews and conversations with clients, that there would be a possibility of false positives being raised. We had to go through them because we cannot afford to miss out on any potential security breach.

I don't believe Veracode has helped us save time. Overall, if we consider the larger context, saving time was not a direct expectation communicated by Veracode. Their expectation was solely to prevent any security breaches. Regarding time-saving, I don't think Veracode has provided any assistance in that aspect.

At the end of the day, we were essentially thinking of transitioning to a new solution, primarily due to the high number of false positives we were receiving from Veracode, we conducted a cost-and-benefit analysis specifically for Veracode. We discovered that, overall, it prevented our solution from being breached for more than six clients. Considering our annual client turnover rate is approximately twelve to thirteen, Veracode played a significant role in addressing a substantial portion of our challenges.

I recommend negotiating with Veracode for a free trial period. We frequently engage in negotiations to secure a six-month trial. A trial will assist in comprehending the intricacies. While there are benefits, it is important to note that the time required for each project will naturally increase. It is crucial to understand how Veracode operates and determine if it aligns with the company's needs. However, regarding pricing, I am confident that Veracode delivers as requested.

Veracode functions solely within the development department, but within the department itself, we have a division based on the two types of clients we deal with. One type is primarily focused on development, while the other is focused on procuring or conducting quantitative analysis for the markets.

For general everyday maintenance, only two people are involved. However, for monthly maintenance, approximately six people from our end are involved, and I am unsure of the number of people from Veracode's end.

I would advise speaking with other clients like us who have already used Veracode. Prior to that, however, we need to understand what kind of security breaches are possible in our solution and determine how much of our money and time we want to allocate to addressing them. We should assess the importance of these breaches to us. Once we have this understanding, we can discuss with other clients how the overall process went and how much time it actually takes. The final step would be to directly contact their team and negotiate for a longer trial period. The best decision we made was to initiate a six-month trial with Veracode and then transition to full-time usage.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

It offers different types of scans we need in one integrated solution

  • June 16, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Veracode is our primary tool for identifying and resolving security flaws in our web-based applications. When I started at Advantasure, I worked on a claims product, using the tool to remedy coding issues and identify high-risk security flaws. I did that for a while before transitioning to a role as an application security engineer. In this job, I don't fix any security flaws. I help operate the environment.

We have integrated Veracode with Jenkins so that we can automate building and scanning code. Jenkins uploads the build to Veracode for static and SCA scanning.

I'm working remotely through a VPN. When I log into Veracode, I check the various applications out to ensure everything's running. If we have any issues, I report them to the appropriate teams.

How has it helped my organization?

We are in the health insurance industry, so compliance with security and privacy regulations is essential. Veracode is the industry standard. We use Veracode when we do internal audits and that sort of thing. You won't be in business for long if you don't have an industry-standard static security tool.

I have only worked at this company for two years, so I can't comment on what it was like before I joined, but Veracode does a good overall job of interfacing with us and giving us advice about areas we can improve. The company has used Veracode for a while, so it's not about improving per se. It's about maintaining and learning to use the tool better or making better use of dynamic scans. Our security doesn't depend on one feature. We're implementing multiple features, such as static and dynamic scans.

Their policies are relatively helpful for compliance. The policy configuration tool works well. We try to use one policy to cover all our applications. Once we've configured the policy correctly, it does an excellent job of applying that to each application and ensuring compliance. Veracode provides good visibility, and the reports are integrated, so we get insight into each type of scan.

Veracode's false positive rate is decent overall. The biggest challenge isn't a C or C++ call, but it's tricky to follow the data flows when using a web interface. You get a few false positives every once in a while.

I always tell our developers to verify all false positives because Veracode cannot follow your code flow. It's up to the developer to follow the code flow and check whether it's a false positive. The initial report is an excellent place to start. I don't think the false positives affect developer confidence. I never hear anybody complain about false positives.

The biggest challenge isn't Veracode; it's getting our developers to be compliant. Our organization is undergoing some changes, and we must remind the developers to do their jobs. As an application security engineer, I struggle to get developers to do these tasks because they don't want to do them. At the end of the day, the false positive rate doesn't affect developer productivity.

Veracode doesn't really help developers save time because we're already a mature organization. Their support team has helped us optimize our scan configuration significantly. Regarding the regular developers' goals, we have existing documentation and hold meetings with them. They do support consultations when developers have an issue.

What is most valuable?

I like Veracode's static scanning and SCA. We use three static scans, software composition analysis, and dynamic scans. We haven't used dynamic scanning as much, but we're trying to integrate that into our environment more.

For the most part, we've had good luck with the static scans as well as the software composition analysis scans. Veracode does a decent job of catching most vulnerabilities from making it into production, but it doesn't catch everything.

What needs improvement?

I have a few pet peeves and minor areas of irritation. Their customer success team does an excellent job, but getting their internal engineering team to do things isn't easy. They seem to lack a focus on maintaining the solution and improving it in the next generation.

It's a common problem in the industry. Software developers are always thinking about the next big thing but lose sight of what's happening right now. If you have an idea for a feature request, you must submit it to be voted on by the Veracode community. I don't like this. No one will look at it unless enough people vote for it.

Another issue we have concerns entry points. You must select the entry points for a static scan of your stuff. However, you can fix this by having templates in Jenkins. Things can sometimes change, confusing Veracode. I want to lock those entry points in. Eventually, our DevOps team will create templates for everything. If I want a new template, I need to submit it to the community and get my peers to vote on it. It's a waste of time.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Veracode for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I've been impressed with Veracode's stability. The solution doesn't go down often. The dynamic scans went down the other day, but that was a problem with the infrastructure, and AWS rarely has outages. Overall, it's dependable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't had any scalability issues with our current scan volume, but we're a medium-usage client. We have more than 30 static scans and 12 to 15 dynamic scans and don't seem to have issues with performance.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Veracode support 7.5 out of 10. Overall, our technical support is decent. You have to find someone who works well with you. My biggest challenge is dynamic scanning and getting up to speed on that. You must find out who's good and stick with them as much as you can.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What was our ROI?

Our ROI comes mainly in the form of compliance. We get a star rating when we're automated, and we need to maintain that. We currently have a fairly high rating, so it's not so much about gaining stars. We need to avoid losing them. By maintaining our high rating, we can also gain more clients.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Veracode is expensive, but other solutions cost as much, if not more. For example, Rapid7's dynamic scan tool was at least as expensive as Veracode, and Rapid7 wasn't willing to negotiate. We are a reasonably large user.

It's a fair price. If you're worried about getting your money's worth, you could ask Veracode for a trial license and compare it to other tools in terms of pricing versus features. That's how I would do it. It's crucial to do your homework. At this point, we're somewhat locked in and won't change unless we find something significantly cheaper or better.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The company looked at other options, and we try to do one-stop shopping when possible. We looked at other tools like Rapid7 but decided against doing a proof of concept because it doesn't offer static analysis. I don't think they could do software composition without static analysis.

We could use Rapid7 for dynamic scans, but then we would have issues with report integration. One of the primary reasons we use Veracode today is that they have solid support. They typically respond to almost any ticket within 24 hours. Veracode also does an excellent job of integrating its various tools for static scanning, dynamic scanning, etc.

At the end of the day, we stay with Veracode primarily because of the solution's integration. Our license is up this year, and we currently have no plans to seek out another vendor. We may consider switching next year.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Veracode seven out of 10. Before you evaluate Veracode or any other solution, you need to sit down with other specialists and decision-makers to develop some criteria. See if Veracode will give you a free trial license, and start testing it out. You can also check Gartner.

Identifies false positives, prevents vulnerable code from being introduced into production, and provides static scanning

  • June 13, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We scan various types of software codes, such as codes or applications built in languages like C, Java, Python, PHP, and Ruby, among others. We assess the code quality using Veracode.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode prevents 90 percent of vulnerable code from being introduced into production.

Previously, in our organization, we did not have a dedicated workflow or a tool for capturing code vulnerabilities. After the code passed the testing phase, it was directly implemented in production. However, since implementing Veracode and launching it, we have been able to identify vulnerabilities beforehand. As a result, our code now goes into production without any vulnerabilities. Only after ensuring this, do we allow it to go live.

Veracode provides visibility into application status at every phase of development.

Based on our experience, Veracode quickly and effectively identifies false positives.

Our project teams understand the importance of conducting code scanning in addition to code development and Veracode testing. This ensures that any flow issues are addressed before proceeding to the next phase. It has become ingrained in their approach.

Veracode has helped our developers save time by assisting in fixing the vulnerabilities that could have had disastrous effects if they had gone into production.

Veracode has had a tremendous impact on our security posture, particularly in one region in Asia where Veracode is being used for security testing and vulnerability assessment. Now, other regions, including the US, have also recognized its value and started adopting Veracode.

What is most valuable?

Static Scanning is the most valuable feature of Veracode.

What needs improvement?

Veracode's policy reporting, which ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations, is valuable. It would also be helpful to have a specific example that we can relate to in order to better understand it. Currently, the information is scattered, so precision would greatly assist us.

Veracode can be improved in terms of software composition analysis and related vulnerabilities. For instance, when an application team provides us with their software code, we perform code scanning. During this process, we often encounter software composition analysis vulnerabilities that require the application team to upgrade their Java file from version X to version Y. We then communicate this to the application team, and they proceed with the upgrade. Once the upgrade is complete, we conduct a rescan. However, during the rescan, Veracode may identify compatibility issues with the upgraded version Y. This situation puts the application team in a difficult position, as they may be unable to accommodate this change within their project schedule. Therefore, this is an area where I believe Veracode could make improvements.

The technical consultation can be enhanced to effectively address the communication variations among different regions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Veracode is 100 percent stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Veracode can scale to meet our maximum requirements.

How are customer service and support?

There are cultural differences in the way we communicate with people from different countries. So, when a Japanese person is talking to an American, the rapid conversation provided by the American technical support person may not be easily understood by the Japanese individual. As a result, instead of having just one discussion or consultation with Veracode, we end up having three to four consultations.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What other advice do I have?

I give Veracode a ten out of ten.

We are using Veracode in multiple locations and departments.

Veracode does not require any maintenance.

Veracode is an extremely user-friendly tool, operating through a web interface. Additionally, the support and guidance offered by the Veracode team are excellent. Considering all of these factors, I believe Veracode should be the choice for anyone.

Includes valuable static and dynamic code scanning and detailed reports

  • May 23, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We are developers who utilize Veracode for the static and dynamic scanning of our applications.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode provides both us and our customers with confidence that our applications do not have any issues by helping to prevent any vulnerable code from being deployed in production.

Veracode has helped us improve the way we conduct static and dynamic code testing in our organization. Based on the reports we receive, we can quickly identify what needs to be fixed immediately after the scan. For minor issues, we are given time to address them after moving into production, but for major issues, the application is unable to enter the production phase.

We utilize Veracode for static and dynamic code scanning in our software configuration and lifecycle management. It is integrated as part of our pipeline, allowing the code to be automatically scanned in the background. This enables us to review the reports promptly.

The information provided by Veracode enables us to easily rectify vulnerabilities in the workflow.

Veracode can help our developers save time, depending on the issue and the age of the application.

Veracode saves time by automating the basic tasks that were previously performed manually.

Veracode has had a positive impact on our security stance and has empowered our customers to confidently migrate their applications to the cloud.

What is most valuable?

The static scan and the detailed reports, which include issue information and permissions, are the most valuable features.

What needs improvement?

Veracode does not support scans for .NET Blazor server applications. We encounter errors whenever attempting a scan. I would appreciate it if Veracode could incorporate support for these applications.

I would like Veracode to offer code support for the latest releases of .NET whenever they are released by Microsoft.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for over one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Veracode is stable.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is helpful, but they operate on their own schedule, so in certain instances, we have to endure a considerable wait for a resolution.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What other advice do I have?

I give Veracode an eight out of ten.

Our customer provides us with a Veracode profile account for uploading and testing code. We do not manage the solution or have any insight into how it is deployed.

I highly recommend Veracode for assisting in identifying vulnerabilities in code.

I have learned that Veracode can confidently scan and detect vulnerabilities in code. However, for older or unsupported applications, we need to seek an alternative solution.

Helps with shift-left, saving on remediation costs by finding issues earlier, keeping them out of production

  • May 22, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I currently work for a Veracode distributor here in Brazil. I work in both presales and post-sales, and I do implementations as well.

How has it helped my organization?

We talk a lot about shift-left and this is very important because, when you find problems near the beginning of the process, it costs less to resolve them. In addition, Veracode provides information on how to handle issues and that saves time for the developers. It's also good for a company's image because the problems are found before deployment to production.

When it comes to developer confidence, the low false-positive rate is very important. If they use a tool with a lot of false positives, they won't believe the reports they get. And that's important because if the teams don't like a tool, they won't use it. Also, we don't have a tool in Veracode for tuning policies because it is an automated process. In most cases, we don't have many problems that require tuning. We just review the model and usually find it's fine.

What is most valuable?

To me, the principal feature is the CLI (command-line interface) because I put together a lot of implementations using it. Another important aspect is the low false-positive rate because the solution is very configurable. It is as low as 1 percent and that is a huge difference compared to competitors.

And Veracode's ability to prevent vulnerable code from going into production is the main selling point that we talk about with our customers. It is one of the most important features.

I have also used the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) feature in some implementations. It's important because in modern software development, people always use third-party components but they don't necessarily see the problems that they may contain. If you don't use the SBOM tool, you won't know the status of all these third-party pieces. And it's very easy to create a report using this feature because it is made in the Veracode portal with a graphical interface or, in the CLI, it's just one line of code.

Another important factor is the policy reporting for ensuring compliance with industry standards. We generally work with big companies in Brazil and, for them, maintaining the required standards is imperative. The policies can help achieve those standards.

We can also involve Veracode at every stage of the development process. It has a lot of tools to help with security.

Veracode has a new tool to automate the fixing of flaws, but we don't use it. Generally, the orientation that Veracode provides for resolving problems is good and developers can use it to handle the problems and make things work.

What needs improvement?

In the last month or so, I had a problem with the APIs when doing some implementations. The Veracode support team could be more specific and give me more examples. They shouldn't just copy the URL for a doc and send it to me. I am a distributor and a Veracode solutions expert, so if I create a ticket that means I have read the documentation. It would be better if they sent me more examples instead.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for two and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It has great stability. It uses AWS and I don't recall any downtime.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The license provides for scalability, so it's just a matter of connecting more users. We don't need to think about it, which is good.

How was the initial setup?

Veracode is a SaaS solution. We just connect it to the customer's environment. It's very simple. We have plugins for the most popular CI/CD tools and, for other tools, it's one or two lines of code to implement. Generally, we just need one person who has edit access to the pipeline. So one or two people are sufficient to implement it.

There is no maintenance of the solution because it's SaaS.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The commercial guys take care of the pricing, it's not something I'm involved in. But the licensing is simple. The SAST product has some rules that some customers have found a little confusing, but overall, the licensing is simple.

What other advice do I have?

The impact that Veracode has on security posture depends on the size of the company. Usually, large companies have standards in place, and that makes code development more secure than it is in small companies. For small companies, Veracode can really make a huge improvement to the SDLC.

Helps to reduce false positives and prevent vulnerable code from entering production, but does not support incremental scanning

  • May 19, 2023
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We utilize Veracode to assist in establishing secure-by-design and development processes for our web applications, as well as transitioning from other systems to microservices.

How has it helped my organization?

Once Veracode is correctly tuned, its ability to prevent vulnerable code from entering production increases.

An SBOM is a list that can help us manage our risks by tailoring it with software competition analysis, scanning for vulnerabilities, and addressing third-party risks. As part of the supply chain, an SBOM provides a visual representation of the components present in our application, enabling us to take appropriate action.

Creating an SBOM is straightforward.

From a central perspective and a risk standpoint, the SBOM holds significant importance and must be integrated into our environment for the Software Development Life Cycle users.

Veracode has provided us with the opportunity to secure our applications. It enables us to identify risks and develop a strategy based on the results obtained from Veracode. These results are utilized to target developer training policies that we have created for pipeline and policy scanning. Additionally, Veracode provides us with guidance on resource allocation for teams. Overall, Veracode has proven to be highly useful. We obtained data from Veracode starting from day one of usage and witness its complete value within the initial six months of utilization.

Veracode's policy reporting for ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations is commendable. They dedicate ample time to conduct thorough research and executing internal campaigns. Instead of hastily releasing new features and language support, they meticulously perform six to nine-month testing to ensure proper formatting and functionality.

I give Veracode's false positive rate an eight out of ten.

A seasoned developer with the appropriate mindset understands the necessity of fine-tuning regarding false positives, as this can impact novice developers.

Veracode's low false positive rate in static analysis has had a positive impact on the time we spend fine-tuning policies.

Veracode greatly influences our organization's ability to address flaws. Resource allocation, strategy, and trading have had a significant impact, particularly when considering the redirection of traffic. Starting from the point of deviation becomes crucial in this context. Without comprehending the potential flaws that may arise within our environment, we cannot determine the appropriate direction to mitigate and reduce them over time.

Veracode assists our developers in saving time when used correctly. It took us approximately one year to align all the developers' mindsets, but once we achieved this, our team matured, and tasks became easier.

Veracode has been beneficial for our organization's security posture.

Veracode has reduced the cost of our DevSecOps by helping us decrease development time, remediation efforts, and the expenses associated with fixing flaws at a later stage.

What is most valuable?

Veracode Fix is a new feature that functions similarly to auto-remediation for low or medium flaw codes. Essentially, it serves as a means to demonstrate to developers how to create secure coding modules and solutions. I am excited about it because I believe it will accelerate development time.

What needs improvement?

The language version support could be improved. For instance, I recall a situation where there was a slight delay in supporting the application for a specific job because there were concerns regarding the vulnerabilities present in the new languages.

Veracode combines container scanning and software composition analysis into a single package. This has always been an issue because people want the freedom to choose one or the other. However, we are almost compelled to purchase both components together.

I would like to request the inclusion of incremental scanning in a future release. By scanning only the portions of code where changes were made instead of the entire code, we can significantly reduce the scanning time.

I would like to see what Veracode plans to do regarding endpoint protection, PAN testing, DAST, RAST, and similar areas. I haven't seen any developments in these aspects yet. Products like Contrast are more advanced in this regard. So, as teams become more mature, what steps can we take to adopt the mindset and processes required for such advancements?

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for over four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Veracode has experienced occasional downtimes, but for the most part, it has remained stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Veracode is capable of scaling to accommodate the needs of large organizations.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is excellent. They have application security experts. If we have an issue within the platform, we can reach out to either a Success Manager or a technical representative, and they usually respond within twenty-four hours. Additionally, as a developer or end users, we can schedule consultations and speak to someone who understands a specific language, which is really helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Aside from the standard licensing fees, we also have to pay for a competent Success Manager. We initially received a favorable deal in the first year, presumably to secure our business, but we have since observed a gradual annual increase in costs.

I would definitely recommend having a Success Manager in the first year. Once the teams become more mature, companies like Synopsys, Veracode, Checkmarx, and others are large enough to offer competitive deals if they are interested in our business. For small businesses, using open source tools would be worth considering. With Veracode, we pay for the research they have conducted and have gained a deep understanding of various flaws. Their risk rating aligns well with our requirements, which is beneficial. We rely on this tool and find it fantastic from a data perspective. The data provided has greatly assisted us in our strategic decision-making.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have tested all of the solutions. I have tested Synopsys, Veracode, and Checkmarx. Checkmarx is a truly excellent product. The only drawback was that their dashboard was subpar, resulting in poor data quality.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Veracode a seven out of ten. Although it doesn't fulfill all our requirements, I am still impressed with it and find the solution appealing.

Veracode has excelled in SAST, DAST, and IAST, but conducting scans, secret scanning, and IAC are new areas for them.

Veracode alone cannot solve our issues or problems. We need to have an agile mindset and ensure that security is embedded and maintained. We need to educate developers to be able to use these tools effectively and incorporate them into their everyday processes.

Veracode can be hosted within Europe or at our local location if needed. However, I believe they offer various instances. Personally, I prefer the SaaS solution over on-prem, mainly because unless we have specific data privacy requirements, using the SaaS solution is more convenient. Opting for on-prem would require additional resources, such as setting it up and engaging with Veracode support, which can be a more complex process.

Veracode handles the maintenance. All we need to do is set up the files for pipeline scans. Our engineering teams can handle that. In terms of policies, we should review them annually. Credentials will naturally expire on an annual basis, so they need to be reviewed as well. If we want to pursue additional tasks like GitHub integrations, then the setup process is required.

I recommend evaluating the top four solutions listed in the Gartner report or any other reliable source of information. Test them thoroughly and ensure that the vendor truly understands the organization's environment before making a commitment.

It is crucial for individuals to comprehend and establish a workflow environment before they commence providing tools, and I believe there is indeed a wealth of information pertaining to data dashboards. Although it may require time, we can collaborate with Veracode to construct it. Overall, it is beneficial. It is truly excellent.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

It's good for static scans and compliance, but it takes a long time to deal with the false positives

  • May 17, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use Veracode for static code analysis.

How has it helped my organization?

Veracode detects vulnerabilities. The most essential part is Veracode's PCI compliance policies. We need to make sure our code is compliant. Veracode's policy reporting features are effective at ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The policy has changed here, but that functionality works quite well. It provides visibility to application status at every development stage.

The solution helped us find and fix flaws. It ultimately saves us some time, but we still spend a long time sorting through the false positives. Every report generates a number of issues, some of which are valid. Others are mitigated by application design or network devices. Veracode improved our security overall. There is no doubt about that.

What is most valuable?

The CSA vulnerability scanning is useful.

What needs improvement?

The dynamic scanning feature appears to be working, however, 90%-95% of all vulnerabilities could be easily detected by any web browser.

When it comes to dynamic scanning Veracode needs to improve its functionality.

They claim that we can do this, but it doesn't work when we're scanning the applications in real time.

Static code analysis generates too many false positives, so it takes a lot of time to review them all. The security and development teams need to work together to mitigate the false positives. It doesn't affect the developers' confidence in the solution. It still works, but it takes time. It has a significant impact on the process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Veracode for five or six years.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Veracode support a seven out of ten. We have weekly meetings with the support representatives to discuss any issues with the tool. It's pretty good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What other advice do I have?

I rate Veracode a five out of ten.
