Good performance and pricing, very response support team

  • July 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We were previously using Redis, but due to slow version updates and a lack of region support, we needed to find an alternative. Dragonfly provided a compatible API, and they provisioned resources in the region we required within 24 hours. We had a few initial setup questions, which the support team was quick to respond to. Since setting up our Dragonfly services have been reliable and met our performance expectations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced Redis features are not supported yet, but nothing we depend on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Job queues, user session storage and caching.

A pleasurable experience with Dragonfly

  • July 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've had a great experience working with both the open-source and the managed solutions for Dragonfly. The flexibility and performance have been excellent for my needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would like to see improved is the ability to use smaller instances. For some of my smaller workloads, an instance size of 1GB or less would be ideal, but the current minimum is 3GB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dragonfly is solving our need for a high-performance, in-memory data store for various application workloads. The primary benefit is the speed and efficiency it brings to our data caching and management, which significantly improves the overall performance of our applications.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to integrate and very fast in combination with a very competitive pricing
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes specific features that are well known from Redis are missing, like the Redis search, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it for my AI Chat as a cache layer and for other feature to speed them up

Dragonfly: Fast, Reliable, and Easy to Use

  • November 28, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dragonfly is fast, reliable, and easy to use. We tested it with up to 3 million queries per second (~250GB memory) on a 22-core instance with one master and three replicas. It worked well for reads and writes isolation, disaster recovery, and handling large data sets.

It's a great alternative to Redis affordable, high-performing, and fully supports Redis APIs, so no code changes are needed. Perfect for teams wanting better performance at a lower cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, our experience has been excellent. Dragonfly is actively improving, and the team is responsive on Discord. They regularly add new features based on user requests, which is a big plus!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use Dragonfly for key-value operations and high-throughput use cases. Its multithreaded, shared-nothing architecture allows us to achieve high throughput with fewer nodes, significantly reducing the overhead of instance management.

DragonflyDB is a game-changer!

  • October 28, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DragonflyDB has been a game-changer for us in terms of performance and scalability. We needed a more powerful alternative to Redis that could handle large keys like hashmaps and sorted sets, and DragonflyDB has delivered impressively. We’re managing over 300GB of data with a load of up to 500k operations per second, and DragonflyDB has been able to handle it with ease.

The scaling experience is significantly better as well. Plus, DragonflyDB offers full compatibility with Redis, which was a huge win for us. We have a large codebase, and the migration required no changes to our code—DragonflyDB just worked seamlessly with our existing setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
We initially encountered an issue with database instance stability while running in Docker. However, the Dragonfly team quickly addressed it, and their CTO was even personally involved in solving the problem. This level of support was reassuring and greatly appreciated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cache for real-time data processing
Cache layer for data serving API
ML and statistics

The Redis you always wanted!

  • October 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our experience with Dragonfly has been extremely smooth and exciting! With Dragonfly Cloud, we replaced our huge and expensive self-hosted single-instance Redis-based cache on AWS with a faster, managed cluster on Dragonfly Cloud. This led to better application performance, 60% lower costs, and improved solution reliability. The migration was as easy as changing the endpoints from Redis to Dragonfly — no code changes were required. Scaling clusters up and down is so easy and smooth!
What do you dislike about the product?
Although most of the necessary features are already in place (easy cluster spin-up, rolling updates, RBAC, etc.), we still lack some, such as the ability to set up maintenance windows for clusters and get notifications about planned maintenance or official Terraform provider. However, the Dragonfly team is very customer-oriented and always tries to find a suitable solution if a required feature is not generally available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Dragonfly for storing a key-value cache

My Thoughts on Dragonfly Company

  • October 14, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about dragonfly is their commitment to creating a user friendly experience. The application was easy. I enjoyed the effort they put into ensuring the candidate gets proper feedback and support. I appreciate the responsiveness of the team and I am excited about the opportunity to join such an innovative company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe there could be more transparency regarding the application timeline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tools and resources provided by Dragonfly allow me to focus more on my core responsibilities rather than getting bogged down

Insanely scalable in memory datastore

  • August 01, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dragonfly has been a game-changer for our infrastructure. We experienced a magnitude speed improvement compared to our previous managed in memory store solution which has significantly enhanced our application's performance.

The integration process was surprisingly smooth and efficient. It only took our team about half a day to fully integrate with Dragonfly since it is redis client compatible. Further, customer support we have gotten has been exceptional. We have had a couple issues outside of business hours and their engineers have been very responsive (including the founder/CTO). This level of support and expertise gives us confidence in the product's ongoing development and our decision to adopt it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall great experience, we did have one issue where we couldn't launch a new instance quickly during a critical spike of our traffic because of an internal quota DragonflyDB team had set. But they resolved very quickly. Nothing major!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem is solves for us is much better performance when running BullMQ. We ran BullMQ at scale on a cloud providers managed solution for in memory databases and found it was not even close to the efficiency with which even a medium sized instance of DragonflyDB can achieve. We have been able to cut costs by using DragonflyDB

Unlock scalability

  • May 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Dragonfly's ability to use all the computing resources of the machine it's running on. Customer support is also very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dragonfly Cloud could be improved in the onboarding phase. But it's a detail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dragonfly as Queue broker. It's the most important component of our platform and the ability to use all the CPU core available on the server brought a significant performance improvement and cost savings.

Fast Cheap and Reliable

  • May 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We saw a 30x speed up compared to managed redis and a 10x reduction in cost. Only took us about a day to integrate. No brainer for anyone currently using redis.

The founding team is incredibly sharp and super responsive
What do you dislike about the product?
Its still an early stage company so there are some risks but I think they will grow quickly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Replce redis
