Notion is great for documentation!

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Notion. We use it in our company for documentation and note-taking
- You can easily share documents as they are publicly available to the company. You can also choose whom to share it to.
- The version control is strict. When there are changes, you will receive notifications in email.
- There are various formats and templates that you can choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike Notion because:
- It is hard to track your work. It can get lost. It would be useful to have a directory list of documents made for a certain topic.
- The offline app is buggy. It hangs and loads slowly on my laptop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation, note taking, knowledge management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations as of the moment.

Manage your knowledge base with Notion

  • October 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is my very first experience of an online knowledge base where there could be multiple contributors to a document. In my previous company we used a very old tool which just showed documents and policies but nobody was allowed to create anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion needs a directory to keep everything organized. There are a lot of documents in Notion that gets lost. There should also be better tracking on the documents. Sometimes I cannot tell what one person has edited into our documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Notion, we are able to collaborate on documents, policies, processes, and the like.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I find Notion difficult to use. I recommend trying other software before committing to this.

Notion for Knowledge Management

  • July 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our company has been using Notion for as long as I can remember. It is our main mode of documenting processes and policies. I like how Notion lets me collaborate with other employees. It also tracks changes and in some instances, only some people can do those changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is easy for things to get lost in Notion. The search function is not too good and it becomes much more difficult if people have written about the same topic on several pages. The Notion app also gets buggy when there are several items listed on a page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge Management, Note-Taking, Gantt-Charting, project management, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are other Note-taking software out in the market which are easier to use. You might want to research on this first...

Great alternative to Confluence

  • May 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to view, add and edit content. Very visual approach, light and accessible from anywhere since it's browser-based. Useful templates
What do you dislike about the product?
The to-do lists and Kanbans are not as complete as to replace Trello or Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create a repository of useful information for employees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try their templates before taking a decision. They are so well designed, they may already offer what you are looking for.

Use Notion for your Documentation Needs

  • May 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is my first experience of an advanced documentation tool. I used to work in traditional banking that had legacy systems especially for policies and other things. In this aspect, I like how Notion is, like most other apps, is completely run on the cloud. You will never lose your policies and documents unless you lost your account. Notion also brings a level of collaboration as you can add and tag certain company users into your document for editing or simply reading.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been struggling with Notion in terms of two things: 1) Version Control and 2) Search. I have collaborators who change and edit things that I write. While it is great that I am notified via email, this online collaboration has seemed to remove real life discussion. The search function can be improved on. I frequently lose documents once people have dumped heaps on me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps us with documentation and knowledge management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None at the moment.

Make your policies with Notion!

  • May 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are using Notion as our policy and documentation tool. We type and store our policies and processes here. You can also use this for note taking. Moving on to the features I like, it is relatively easy to create a new Notion document and start typing, you can then choose whom to share it to in the organization. Notion also allows you to attach other file types and even pictures which makes this excellent for making documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our company has generated volumes of documents on Notion and it is shockingly hard to find some of them. If you are not using a certain Notion document often, it will get lost in oblivion and is hard to find via Notion's search function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is a documentation tool. It is all online and enables collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations at the moment. I am not aware of other tools in the market.

Notion is a well-layed out system for easily compiling and organizing documents for company use.

  • May 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is easily organized with plenty of options for creating files to easily and effectively communicate ideas and information. The ability for multiple users to collaborate simultaneously on documents is especially beneficial to productivity. The change logging system is helping in knowing where you last left off on a multiple day project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have minor annoyances with the interaction process within a note, such as trying to edit a commented upon section usually results in editing the comment instead, but overall, the system is effective and easy to use. There are times would like a potentially more simplified version of inserting object blocks within a document (i.e. inserting an image or placing a video clip)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion provides and excellent means of creating a database of files and logs for company access. A better option for storing information sources than a lumped-together dropbox.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Notion can be a complex and multilevel as you make it or retain a minimalistic simplicity. Explore all of its functions before deciding on a structure to more effectively utilize the tools at your disposal.

Excellent for Large Working Teams

  • May 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you are able to make your own templates on Notion. They have suggestions about how to organize pages, but they also let you create your own templates for a way that you feel most organized. It is a very easy software to use and it is easy for sharing with team members. We keep all of our documentation and schedules in notion for our whole team to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
You pay by the number of team members that are using the software which can be challenging. It can get pricey if your team is too large. I still think it is worth it though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is helping us to solve our accountability problems. You can set reminders for people and for yourself in the calendar mode. This is making everyone aware of when they are late on a project or deadline. It is very clear and upfront.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it is an exceptional product for project managers. I am able to make sure that everyone is staying on task. I can also see what updates have been made to certain pages recently. It helps to not to continually bother teammates.

Great Multi Purpose Tool

  • April 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion attempts to combine a lot of the tools that I use regularly into one - and it does a pretty good job at it! It's been exciting to have one go to place for all business communications and planning
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of all it can do, there was a bit of a learning curve for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for to-do lists, for planning, sharing files and collaborating. This is not the first tool to offer these features, but one of the best to offer all of these features in one products
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have a free option and it's worth giving it a shot

Great for keeping notes and records

  • April 26, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is very fast and the UI feels amazing. I love that I can jump into taking notes and organize it right away. Team sharing and shareable URLs are also amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Android app needs work, it takes at least 15 seconds for it to load every time I open it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is now a place for everything, in one central location. Notion is great for organizing all of my team's documents for easy access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it for free to see if it fits your workflow! Then you can consider upgrading to a paid plan.
