Would be great to have jira-like sprints inside Notion

Notion is great for documentation!

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Notion. We use it in our company for documentation and note-taking
- You can easily share documents as they are publicly available to the company. You can also choose whom to share it to.
- The version control is strict. When there are changes, you will receive notifications in email.
- There are various formats and templates that you can choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike Notion because:
- It is hard to track your work. It can get lost. It would be useful to have a directory list of documents made for a certain topic.
- The offline app is buggy. It hangs and loads slowly on my laptop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation, note taking, knowledge management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations as of the moment.

Manage your knowledge base with Notion

  • October 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is my very first experience of an online knowledge base where there could be multiple contributors to a document. In my previous company we used a very old tool which just showed documents and policies but nobody was allowed to create anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion needs a directory to keep everything organized. There are a lot of documents in Notion that gets lost. There should also be better tracking on the documents. Sometimes I cannot tell what one person has edited into our documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Notion, we are able to collaborate on documents, policies, processes, and the like.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I find Notion difficult to use. I recommend trying other software before committing to this.

Notion is our policy making tool

  • October 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how notion enables my workmates and I to collaborate on various draft making of policies and processes. There's also strict version control. When a collaborator makes a change, I am notified thru email. You can also see the various changes made by editors of the document.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problem with notion has been its search function. With the vast amounts of data written in our Notion, things are easily lost. Even documents I have written have gotten lost in this ocean of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is for our corporate knowledge base needs and for note taking. It's easy for people to make notes on a single document at the same time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations at the moment.

CODA v EVERNOTE v SAVING GRACE

  • October 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can get to this app by web, phone, or desktop and it doesn't consume much space. You are free to do any design type you want or you can choose from a template the community has built or ones that Notion have built. The owner is very approachable to suggestions. Tons of YouTubes about how to use it, if you need that sort of thing. Very minimalistic. You can integrate everything into one space and make several mini accounts, I have a side for academics and aside for personal stuff.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the application first came out we had a scribble/drawing add-in feature and it is no longer there. And the phone app could be more in line with what we see on the internet and desktop interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having everything in one place so that when I sit down at a meeting, I don't have to say wait a minute let me find. I have the website, the notes I did, the file, everything all in front of me... with no lag!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give it a good month up against Evernote, because I am sure you are a die-hard fan because it came first. Notion has even made it easy to convert things over from Evernote, so really no excuse not to try it. Did I mention the free version is just as amazing as the paid? And if you are a student, its free with an upgrade.

Notion is a great application to plan.

What do you like best about the product?
What I most like about notion y the travel planner. With that specific template, the management of the upcoming business travels is easier than ever. I wish I had find it earlier. I can have all the documents linked in one place and then attach the agenda of the meeting and take notes. All in the same app.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app on the phone is not as intuitive and I think it could be more user friendly, but they are moving towards a nice product!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can now manage reservations, tickets, meetings and agenda all in the same app. Life saver. It helps that everything is synced and in the cloud.

Notion will be THE productivity app of this decade.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is like creating a "second brain" for yourself. It's so incredibly flexible that you can build anything with it—from tables to article databases to galleries. It's one of those apps that you download and then delete 10 other apps because they're now unnecessary.

I use it for documenting processes, creating vision boards, tracking goals and tasks, managing projects...what CAN'T you use it for?

The UI is super slick in the sense that it just gets out of the way. The Notion team has also done a great job optimizing efficiency, making everything as simple and fast as possible. They don't add superfluous features. Everything has a purpose.

Finally, the price!!! $4/mo is absolutely ridiculous. I would easily pay 10x that and I'm not even paying full price now because they have such generous referral policy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I Very little. I do wish Notion had tabs, because opening multiple windows is annoying. I'm eagerly awaiting the "Timeline" feature. Also, recurring tasks and reminders would be nice. I'd love to see a well-supported API as well, so I could connect it with GatsbyJS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation, interlinking between many different pages, vision boards, project management, blogging, CRM..literally EVERYTHING.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get it ASAP. It's a one-in-a-generation app. Truly revolutionary.

This is what Airtable claims to be

What do you like best about the product?
Notion can be whatever you want or need it to be. Need a database? Done. Pictures, links, etc? Got it. And it'll do you even one better. LIVE. SITE. EMBEDDING. You can embed a window to another site INSIDE a workspace. I've used it to compile lists of CodePen demos and they all work and are interactive...its bananas and I LOVE IT!!
What do you dislike about the product?
The way that notion counts "cells" or whatever they call them is annoying. Every time you press "enter" or "return", it jumps to a new cell, which eats into your limit. Also, there's no way to see what is or isn't included inside a block (had to look it up, they're called blocks) until you click and drag to select text. Only then can you see where the breaks between blocks are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What haven't I done in Notion would be a better question. I have almost everything to run an entire business in there....if only I could figure out a way to just make it think for me, then it would have EVERYTHING.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the templates, they're a great starting point and they can show you ways to use Notion that you wouldn't have thought of (usually).

A great planner and everyday organizer

  • October 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With notion organizing your agenda is easy. From notes to meetings all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Templates are not buildable and not personalized. I’d like to have more variety.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a planner, my life is easier. I just hace to check motion to see what’s on the to do list or what is the next action point I need to focus in.
