Giving web code a UI

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is laid out incredibly intuitively. All the controls I need to make great looking websites are there, it's just like using a normal design tool. The tutorials are out of this world good, some of the best I've seen anywhere. The documentation is thorough and the forums are active. Complex things like JavaScript animations and CMS is handled through an intuitive UI. I love it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can still be difficult to use for my design-centered friends, who just want to drag and drop items on a canvas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My use case is as a student portfolio. The problems I solve are that other sites like Squarespace and Wix aren't able to be customized to the degree that I need to show my work at it's best. My portfolio is one of the best in my school since I can control every little thing about it now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The tutorials are top notch. Go through everything in Webflow University and follow along on a demo site, it's perfect.

The student discount is so good it feels criminal.

Where has this been all my life?

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a tool that finally allows designers to get in the development game. The learning curve isn't steep, the tutorials are fantastic and the community is ever growing and full of free cloneable items to help you figure things out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the CMS was a little more robust. I also feel like it's much easier to create a site from scratch than to learn the in's and out's of the CMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to help small businesses grow by giving them an online presence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give yourself some time to dive into tutorials but also play around with the free cloneables. I tend to learn faster when about to pick things apart.

Webflow Totally Upended Our Business

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a Designer who's used to tools like Adobe's InDesign, I find that Webflow's logic and layout are familiar and comfortable. You aren't editing templates and trying to shoehorn your ideas in. You start with a blank canvas and have total control over how the final design ends up.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Breakpoint Preview only allows for adjustments to the width but not the height. Previewing settings that rely on the Viewport Height, such as Background Images, is painful for mobile devices. The only way to accomplish it is to post the page on the test site that comes with it and use the web browser's native tools to view a more realistic approximation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We never offered Web Design service for two main reasons: Neither of us knew how to code an entire site; We don't have time to maintain and troubleshoot the site long term. That is a significant reason we stayed away from other competitors of Webflow like WordPress. With Webflow, there are no updates that break the site and require maintenance, nor is any coding knowledge needed.

Since adding Web Design to our skill set, we've closed two of the largest deals we've ever had and were nominated for Awwwards' Site of the Day Award.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Webflow is different at a fundamental level versus its competitors. It makes it hard to describe as a result. The best advice I received was this: "If you think you can't do it in Webflow, you're not thinking hard enough." For any limitations it has, you can add an HTML code block and put in whatever code you need.

Lovin' it!

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to design the way I want.
What do you dislike about the product?
The community has suggested many features; I would like to see a faster rollout of new features and a cost reduction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No more wireframing. I design directly in the product: benefits - speed and an easier sell to clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want control over your projects, then Webflow is great!

An Extremely Powerful Tool

  • August 19, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
I love how quickly I can build websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
The companies update priorities seem off
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can build websites from scratch in a fraction of the time that it would take me otherwise. I'm helping sass companies, B2B's, and e-commerce stores launch their sites quickly and efficiently. One of the primary benefits of Webflow is that you can customize anything and everything. There is a bit of a learning curve as there is with almost anything, but they also have a robust tutorial library in Webflow University so that you can get the help you need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Webflow has a bit of a learning curve, so be sure to set aside the time, if you have it, and take a look at Webflow University for tips and tricks to get you up and running!

Best Website builder I've ever used

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, ability to add code, client handoff process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the building aspects are quite complicated. I love the templates as starting points, but single-use licensing and the complexity of some of the builds can limit the speed at which we can pump out sites. Lastly, the pricing for Webflow hosting is a steep additional cost at times, especially if you are running a brand new eCommerce site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Oh man! We can produce websites at a much faster timeframe. What used to take us 2 months in WordPress now take us about 2 weeks in Webflow. The CMS structuring is amazing as is the optimization on different screen sizes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their training videos and explanation videos are hands down the best in the industry. There are some amazing creators on YouTube that provide free video guidance as well

Great platform but clients unhappy about form spam

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So easy to create beautiful websites without having to use code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Great Platform but my clients are very unhappy about the major amount of form spam due to reCAPTCHA 3 not available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting mobile friendly sites up and running pretty quickly. I have way more control over the different breakpoints.

i started as a graphic designer and spent to much time learning code, webflow made my life easier

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
that I can design as much and as complex, as I can and deliver readable code to the back end developer or even use the code on my already bought domains, honestly I signed up for the monthly subscreption just to be able to export the code
What do you dislike about the product?
that's hard to say, coming from coding the front-end stuff from scratch or using chunky WordPress themes there isn't anything that I can honestly complain about, it's a great website that I'm using both for work and personal websites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the interactions, it was almost impossible for me to get the scroll and load interactions right with just code, so my work was static because getting the content into the HTML and styling with CSS took so much time almost none of my clients had the time to wait for me to add extra stuff via javascript that would make the website look nice but have no value other than it looks nice, but with webflow it's so easy I can get it into even the wireframe and it does add to the overall experience
Recommendations to others considering the product:
maybe live chat support

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast builds, great hosting, and great opportunities to build custom sites for my clients.

Powerful, Fun With Aspirations of Perfection

  • August 19, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a tricky question to answer if you have never used Webflow. Having used Webflow for a few years, I like how easy it is to build designs I want and interact with data (collections). When I first started using Webflow, I liked Webflow university. 95% of my questions are answered there. I still use it regularly when I forget something or try something new.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I'm a big fan of Webflow, I hate to say anything negative about it. But there are a couple of issues that I wish were better. My hope is the Webflow team is actively addressing these issues. There are many things on the Webflow wish list, and I agree many of those would make Webflow better. But there are two areas that I have a regular issue with.

The first issue is e-commerce. As powerful as it is, it's still lacking features that competitors have. This weakness has caused me to lose a client and be unable to accept a client's project. I'll be the first to agree that it's easy to use, but larger businesses have high expectations of e-commerce features.

The second issue is the interface and speed of customer support. The process of submitting a support ticket is a bit awkward and adds time to the submission process. Then once a ticket is submitted, I don't get consistent response times. However, I will say that most of my issues have been addressed satisfactorily, so the support results are not an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For years I had been relying on third-party developers to help me develop my client websites. Once I learned Webflow, I realized that this added process could be eliminated in 80% of my work. It also means I was in much more control of the final product. I also know how it works because I'm the one who made it work. The term "no-code" is closely tied to Webflow, and after using it for several years, I can confirm that much of the work is "no-code." As a result, I can focus on user experience and design.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It might solve a problem you have having. It might make you more efficient. It's free to try. Try it. If you get stuck, give Webflow university a try.
