Great for SOP's and product documentation

  • July 27, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with other atlassian products, ease of creating pages, moving pages, and creating public and internal documentation/spaces. I also like that you can see who's owning the page and making edits. Very helpful when seeing who added worflows and flow charts to identify with crowd user in your company was making the edut.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the search is a little wonky and not as robust. Also, I wish the interface was a bit more customizable, however the fact that it is cleaner is a feature I like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product development. Integration with JIRA, and cross team work improves when documenting sop's and workflow procedure/best practices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's definitely a great tool to consider, especially if you are using other atlassian products.

Great product

  • July 26, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
I like many features of Confluence. I love that it is user friendly, easy to modify. I like that you can watch pages and set up alerts. I like that you can mark favorite pages. I also like that you can link to other pages. Our company uses that feature a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the "digest" when it comes to my email. For example, when a page changes I only like to receive those alerts once a week, however, when it comes in via digest form, it is very hard to understand what pages changed and what changed on them without going and looking yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the pages to help with guidance around the company. It's beneficial because they are easy to search and easy to find. It is also very collaborative, so others can contribute as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I definitely would recommend if you need a sort of "wiki" type tool. With how easy it is to use and searchable, it's a great tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use! Web page like functionality without needing to know anything on layouts, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit more customization would be nice, but not a big deal
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of processes - that's huge. Project summaries are also a big benefit.

Wiki warehouse for all our FAQs

  • July 26, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We used Confluence to house a ton of how-to's and walkthroughs for processes. The search functionality greatly improved in my time using the solution. Adding keywords helped index the data and make the info usable for all parties.
What do you dislike about the product?
If articles/wikis weren't given appropriate keywords, the search functionality wasn't ideal. When searching for a particular how-to I had used in the past, I couldn't track it down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allowed the opening of information to entire teams and more of a self-service model for support internally. Rather than bugging developers or managers with questions on how to do a task, all the information was neatly stored and searchable.

Visibility of information

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Managing documentation is easier. It has reduced steps for maintaining application development documentation like design documentation. Earlier I had to write a document, save it and than struggle to upload it, whereas now I just need to write and save it.
Another awesome feature is, as soon as you update your document a notification is send to all the relevant members of the team.
For developers it provides a coll feature called as Gliffy, which helps to design various architecture diagrams, so no need for expensive tools like Visio
What do you dislike about the product?
It do have way to archive documentation or atleast i have not seen or used it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces the cost of maintaining documentations for a software application .
Improves collaboration in an organization.

What do you dislike about the product?
The User interface could be bit more intuitive and be given regular updates.

It really helps my Organization and especially my teams collaboration, organisation and communication

Confluence New user experience

  • July 21, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface to quickly create pages
Ability to create graphically appealing pages
Easy to connect pages
easy to navigate as a user
Ability to set up intuitive user flows/ searches
Auto retirement of out of date pages
What do you dislike about the product?
The "tree" or page hierarchy. it;s too hard to use. When creating pages, the assignment to the spot in the hierarchy seems arbitrary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of finding information. We currently use box as a document storage solution, but things are hard to find. Confluence helps us organize and provide information as users expect to receive it. being able to add context around the document links is also important.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Having an overall admin owner and then specific content owners has helped us quickly create a framework of pages. Asking SMEs to contribute then becomes easier as a more "fill in the blank" exercise.
