Confluence is efficiently providing collaboration to my team
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence brings my entire project team together and provides us with a one-stop-shop for project documentations and information. I like the ease-of-use of Confluence when compared with some of the other out of the box solutions like SharePoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
From my experience, data migration feature within confluence needs to be improved. When you already have invested huge amount of time and effort in designing your collaboration in a different tool and just want to migrate to confluence, you really want make use of your previous efforts. The last thing that you want is to re-recreate everything from scratch in confluence. Features that imports previous structures of collaborations needs to be facilitated within confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration, document sharing and stakeholder communications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a Wiki feature in our organization and deciding on suitable tools, you can rely on Confluence (rather than going to complected solutions like SharePoint).
Easy Knowledge management
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to build a structure for knowledge. Creating sections and pages is one thing. The biggest problem is to categorize and manage the knowledge with our collegues in the company. But with individual keyword for every wikipage it is easy to handle. This is really powerful in combination with macros.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the actual verion there is no option for parallel editing of wikipages. With the new version late 2016 it will be possible. Most important to have a generell understanding of using keywords for structuring knowledge. I found out to late that there are many tutorials at the atlassian site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem is knowledge which is lost if you do save it within a project phase.
We have "killed" email for most communication. Collaboration will be done in confluence. We changed to the pull-principle instead of pushing every information in everyones mailbox. Make a bookmark or search in the wiki for the needed content. This helps to prevent information overload in the mailbox.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you really need a non.difficult, out of the box working collaboration tool try it.
A great collaboration engine
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence helps you and your team organize everything and work together on shared content
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite it is very intuitive, there are a some useful functionalities that could take a lot to be discovered. More, in the precedent versions you couldn't work together on the same page at the same time, but this problem has been recently overcome
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Often is difficult to keep your team organized and work on shared content because information is scattered all over place which are hard to find and manage. Confluence is for my business team a great way to plan, gather feedback and communicate status on projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time becoming more proficient with some useful macros to simplify and optimize your editing work
Great for project planning and executing
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can link Jira tickets to confluence pages so that all the information I need is available to see in one spot. I like that multiple offices can edit the same document throughout the day and we can all see it as it is happening.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes I find it hard to find a particular child page. We name our child pages with the project name at the beginning so often we can't see the full name when the pages are listed on the left side of the screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company has offices all over the world. Confluence makes it easy for us all to work together on a project and everyone knows the most recent activity at a glance. It's helped us be more productive!

Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
Love how you can organize all documents and feedback using the confluence tool
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there was a way to link several pages together that I have with different groups so I don't have to use different urls
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shared site for an organization or team level
Great team collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to all work on the same page and see each other's edits. It has lots of templates and can have text, wire frames, requirements, etc. It can also link to jira tickets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's difficult to navigate. When bringing in outside customers to share pages if they don't use the tools in their own company they get confused. It's very easy to get 100 emails about changes in a day, but it takes some looking to remove the notification
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work remotely so it's necessary to have a central location to store things. We can all see/add/edit pages and contribute as if we were in the same room working on a whiteboard
As Effective As You Make It
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has some really great macros built into it that make creating and maintaining usable product documentation a lot easier. For instance, macros that allow for searching within a page and its child pages only are great for helping make our guides usable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no easy way to copy both a page AND it's child pages to a new location. Also, the exporting to PDF or Word features are very basic and buggy - images are often lost in the export. This causes issues when you want to provide print copies of a document to someone; I have had to spend 12+ hours recreating Word documents rather than a simple export that preserves formatting (and doesn't lose images)! You pretty much have to get plug-ins for everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence for creating, managing, and distributing our software product documentation. Confluence cuts down on the amount of time one would spend doing the same thing with Word documents. It's easy to search for the information you need in Confluence, and it's much more accessible (but in a version-controlled manner) than maintaining old documents on a shared drive. Best of all, I can access documentation from anywhere because it's web-based; I do not need to VPN in to get to my documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allocate budget to purchase plug-ins to get the full functionality you will need to best benefit from Confluence.
Confluence Usage
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of sharing information with team members
What do you dislike about the product?
For first time users, there is not much auto help about navigation through the site and how to make the best use of it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Share information for different teams working on same product. Benefits were ability to use confluence to meet timelines and share the progress of work
Confluence and Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that you can easily document projects and team work flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything that reminds you when it needs to be updated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation and communication
