Confluence a time drain that could be worth while
What do you like best about the product?
It is a simple to use intranet/internal blog software that can be used in conjunction with JIRA and other Atlassian product really easily, and if used correctly can be very useful for meeting notes and documentaiton
What do you dislike about the product?
To really get the best out of this software you should connect this to as many product as possibly in a clear / clean way, that most users understand, as well as a significant investment in user time in terms of making the product work/comprehensive.
If not kept simple, and even when it is to a point, data/information can be hard to find, and it quickly become a labrynth of your information/notes which becomes a living nightmare of business admin.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us provide full scope and progress reports on projects as they go along, and makes meeting note taking a breeze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you invest /or plan to invest sufficiently in getting the product as integrated as possible.
Confluence is great team collaboration software for document storage
What do you like best about the product?
I like that there's a central hub at work for writing down processes and other information that people within the company need access to. I also like that it's online based so that I can access Confluence whenever I have access to the internet. It's also great at how seamless Confluence integrates with JIRA (our project management software). We also create templates within Confluence for regularly occurring pages we create (meeting agendas, weekly review notes, etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike about Confluence. It would be cool i there were an offline version of sort that could then sync to the online version but that's me stretching to ask for something I dislike. I also believe that Confluence is a bit pricey when you take into account users needed and things of that nature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem we're solving is to make processes and documentation accessible by everyone within the company so that employees are productive by having access to the information they need to do their jobs. It's extremely nice to be able to link someone to a Confluence page to have a process to follow and then have that person update the process if it's outdated. Processes that were previously stored in people's heads are now stored in a location that is accessible by everyone in the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you use JIRA, you for sure should be using Confluence as well. They just integrate so well between each other and the benefits far outweigh the costs.
Confluence Paid Review
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and use for sharing information at work for projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a bit difficult to figure out the interface to set up different projects, but this can easily be figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having difficulty creating continuity on projects, confluence gave a better platform than document sharing.
Easy to Learn Platform with a lot of capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it has a lot of functionality and can be used as a database and is easy to use. I also think it looks nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really like it. I do wish maybe there was some more help for content management and advice on how to best use the system, like best practices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Confluence as a searchable database for Lunar Settlement. We were trying to convene information about Lunar Settlement in one convenient location. The benefits of Confluence are its ease of use, we were able to easily teach 3 new users and its ability to have forms and be able to allow others outside of our company to collaborate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try and I am sure you will like it.
Great for colaboration, and helpful integrations into Jira, and other suites.
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the Markdown language, and the way that Confluence links to Jira. That way you can enter a Jira link and that is recognized. There are times when I have a Confluence wiki page that has references to Jira defect tickets in order to point out to readers how specific problems were solved. All of the txt highlighting for code, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not clear on the Confluence Cloud to Organization LDAP integration. Suppose I remove a user from LDAP in my organization, how do they automatically get removed from Confluence?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software development lifecycle, and organizing concept, design, requirements. I have realized that this is a great tool for collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using Confluence if you have an organization that needs to collaborate, even if you aren't selling software.
Serves our needs well
What do you like best about the product?
We post articles to our Confluence Wiki, do some collaboration on the items. we use Confluence mostly as a static board for knowledge base items, or to post procedures or how-to's, that sort of thing.
the structure and permissions setup makes it easy to setup knowledge base wiki items for just the teams that care about that data, so we dont clutter up the feed for everyone.

What do you dislike about the product?
the text editor is a bit dated; it would be great if we could use a more modern UI and functionality, something more like Google Docs or that sort of thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
collaboration online negates the issue of version control or lost files.
Need for Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is connected to Jira. I also like the ablility to create jiffy diagrams. The ease of use is pretty simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you cannot create excel sheets in there with vertical text.. I also don't like all the levels of security. If I create a document, I should be able to delete it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a Business Analyst that is creating my requirement documents in here. I have to attach my BRDs to Epics in Jira.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vertical text
Collaborative Tool for document sharing
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a good tool, with a tree folders management, which allows to manage the documentation. It is able also to add comments, to share (or not) some part, and get an history of all modifications.
As this is an "open tool", a lot of goodies are available to make very great documentation.
As the tool can be linked with JIRA, it's easy to include links between all tools of this family, which help a lot to share document - in Confluence - and tasks linked - in Jira.
The presentation, and look and feel of the pages are very good, and nearly as reactive as a Word document.

What do you dislike about the product?
The confluence tool is a good to do documentation, but not to export them in PDF, HTM or DOC format for user not connected to the tool, like third part. Too many export issues are still existing. Moreover, the format of the export is very "light" and can't do a professional export - like a user manual.
The conversion from already existing document - like MS Word - is working good but need manual adjustment.
The conversion from already existing document - like MS Word - is working good but need manual adjustment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The goal is to share information, and to be able to do modification, shared to everyone, with automatic e-mail on any update between stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a better export function, with template, history, summary, header / footer management. to get a professional document export.
Confluence allows your team to document anything related to the project, and even things that aren't
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use is probably my favorite feature for this application. Whether you like to use wiki markup or just stick to Rich Text Formatting it fits your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
One item that I dislike about Confluence is the irregularity for issues when we do an upgrade. Sometimes the upgrades go fine, sometimes they don't. But when they don't go fine we are usually down for around 4 hours waiting for our team to figure out the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Technical Documentation, Team Discussions, Meeting Notes, Contests, and General Documentation/Communication around the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a startup this is the tool you need to use. If you are not using this tool and have been in the business awhile, why not? This tool does everything you need it to.

What do you dislike about the product?
Having to connect with vpn for authentication.
