New collaboration space
What do you like best about the product?
Sharepoint has been replaced within the project team but the enterprise is still very much Sharepoint however the more people who start using the collaboration of Confluence the more traction and more users accept that this offers so much more in the agile software delivery model and it plays really nicely with Product Plan and Jira
What do you dislike about the product?
Can become a bit hard to navigate and keep a structure to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration and agreement of product requirements, increased documentation by using a product that works for the project team working at pace

Great tool for team collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
We use this at work for our internal wikipedia page. It's the place where all the answers lie - its extremely helpful as a resource to new hires as well as experienced representatives who need a refresher. It's a huge time saver as you can just search for the keyword of the issue you need assistance with. We have one person here who manages the page and you can also comment on particular articles with your edits, questions, or concerns. It's sort of the central hub for information at our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a whole lot. Sometimes I think the search tool could be improved. Right now you can only search by keyword and it would be nice to be able to expand that search bar (i.e. search by date posted, multiple words, etc).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is a tool that allows our company to create, organize and discuss the work that needs to be done - it creates a central hub for this to be done. It's strictly for certain topics of discussion and it provides a bit more organization than Slack does. I think our biggest implementation is JIRA which helps us to create a ticket for a particular recurring issue.
Great for documentation, wiki's, step by step release plan
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is best for documentation and wiki. It is very easy to create a public documents for onboarding, tutorials, articles, best practices, or step by step plans.
There are many suggested templates that work well. Everything is live editable so multiple team members can edit a document without creating too many conflicts.
There are many suggested templates that work well. Everything is live editable so multiple team members can edit a document without creating too many conflicts.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't organize your documents very carefully, it can become difficult to find documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A place to have all our written documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product. Worth the money
Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
Online documentation for all to see with permission levels!
What do you dislike about the product?
Table functionality. No drag and drop for ease of moving items. Also, formatting is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online documentation means that staff can go look things up and not have to bother product owners for every little question! So, time saved is a big one!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get Plugins!
Advanced support manager
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to reference use cases for process and software builds made by other employees
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation could be improved upon to make finding and sourcing information faster without having to view each individual page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving the problem of understanding use case decisions after the employee that originally wrote the process or feature leaves the company
Awesome Database for Techs
What do you like best about the product?
We use Confluence a lot at my company in our Client Success Dept. All the techs are able to update our database that the rest of the department can use to help troubleshoot issues themselves. We can see current issues and their progress with the JIRA functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many different sides to Confluence it sometimes is hard to find exactly what I'm looking for whether that's a JIRA or a How To Page, or product suggestion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This aids in self-sufficiency. Rather than calling a technician every time someone has a question, they can pull up confluence and read the troubleshooting issues with any company we associate with.
Great for internal sharing
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provides a great sharing platform, that is easy for anyone to get started with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The negatives I feel about Confluence are really only related to how my company, past and present, has used it. It has a lot of potential but I'm not sure that has really been harnessed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Really, it was all about internal document sharing. We have a sharefile on the local network, but Confluence provides a better way to log the history of articles (pages) and search for them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Define clear goals of how you want to use Confluence, and make sure your organization's users are trained in how you want to use it. Then, allow users to own their own content.
The best documentation source
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Confluence is it's ease of use and scalability.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the few dislikes is the text editor. It has a lot of room for improvement but gets the job done at a "basic" level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a lot of client based documentation we build and there's always issues with what software is used, updated docs, doc transferring and storage. An online solution is really the best way for a company to house documentation on processes, general info, specifications etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is by far the best method to keep an maintain documentation for anyhing - processes, resources, specifications, etc -
Secure Information Resource for our Team
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite and most-used feature on Confluence is the ability to search. We utilize this site for housing important information regarding our customers, standard operating procedures, and other information crucial to our work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Visually, it feels a little cluttered. Our company is working to revamp the look of things so it may just be how it's set up on our end. Otherwise, I think it's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple teams of people working for our customers in varied areas, and as employees move in and out of the department, we are able to use Confluence as our "handbook" for serving those customers - to record important contact information and anything a new person coming on board would need to know. It is easily kept up-to-date and because it is searchable, you can find information that may not even be related to your department if need be. For example, I've had someone call me looking for assistance with a customer I don't know anything about. But because I can search Confluence and see the correct contact, I can help the person get the information they need quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think this is definitely a good resource to consider for collaborative documents.
