Knowledge is useless unless shared
What do you like best about the product?
It's excellent in how it ties into all of our other tools from Atlassian. The whole suite together allows for easy knowledge sharing and tooling.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is still a bit clunky and dated for this point in time. It'd be nice if we could easily customize it. (I know you can, but it's certainly not easy).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data sharing and ensuring all of our documentation and projects are easy to find and relate to.
Could be a good tool
What do you like best about the product?
Features available and the integration with JIRA (currently used by our team).
What do you dislike about the product?
Wasn't as user intuitive as anticipated when initially creating sections (pages); this could have been the way it was set up for our team. I experienced frustration trying to utilize some of the key features our team was interested in (I was self-training).
Unable to modify documents within the application; incompatible with editing Word documentation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrated team development tracking system and document respository
Great system for tracking information.
What do you like best about the product?
We are able to share documents, how-to etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Often there are problems inserting tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our customers are able to access to informations quicly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good solution to share informations
Poor Wiki software
What do you like best about the product?
Web-based. Allowed hierarchy. Allowed custom plugins. Linked to Bitbucket.
The idea of a wiki makes sense and it promotes companies to record information and avoid tribal knowledge.

What do you dislike about the product?
Formatted poorly. There were no good plugins in the store, and everything cost money. We are already paying for the suite. Now we have to pay to embed a word document? No thank you. Maybe not confluences fault, but we had a bunch of "non-programmers" who were updating the same document again and again as v1,v2,v3, failing to understand that confluence does version control for them.
Also the whole thing blew out of control. We had pages scattered everywhere. The hierarchy of pages aren't obvious and the search is not very good.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing flight simulation documents and software designs. It's nice to give people links, and build a documentation tree.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need an administrator to set it up and maintain it. Don't expect to install it, and inmediately use it.
Very complicated but good long term solution
What do you like best about the product?
How many options there are - kind of overwhelming at first
What do you dislike about the product?
How many options there are - at first!!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization of records
Nice product for organizing wiki and team information
What do you like best about the product?
Clean look and feel of the pages. It is pretty easy to add content.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to format your document is pretty limited unless you are adept at HTML. It is not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing team information in a format the team can ingest. We used confluence to provide a front page to our decentralized content.
My Favorite Central Repository
What do you like best about the product?
I can only comment about my use of Confluence in relation with Jira. When the notes say that
Confluence and JIRA are like bacon and eggs; coffee and cake; Simon and Garfunkel. They mean it. I completely agree that separately, they're great, but together, they're amazing! In regards to Confluence in itself - I love having a central repository for my companies knowledge-base that is user intuitive, easy to use and concise.

What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback it seems in Confluence - like any good system, is that the repository knowledge is only as clear and concise as the users who put the information together. Because of many different users spanning different boards working on similar subject matter - the documentation display, detail, and helpfulness can and often will vary wildly. These could be improved by namespacing conventions and page standardization/templating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is used as a central repository for data knowledge within the company. Through this - it makes life easier when we need to dig up old API documentation, train new hirees, or look at system architecture in the planning stages of new development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Creating live documents for information sharing is fantastic. Be sure to have all authors and contributors on the same page (no pun-intended) for layout purposes. It makes digging for information alot easier - especially when the company inevitably scales and the information repository becomes bigger.
Confluence adds little value
What do you like best about the product?
Share information among coworkers to improve communications
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to be behind VPN
Hard to search across pages

Other tools out there that are easier to use
Confluence is a great program.
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence makes the process easy and productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was nothing I disliked about Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized that Confluence is a good asset to complete business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a great tool to get work done within a company.
Easy to use and collaborate with the team
What do you like best about the product?
We used google drive and other products to share the files and document our process. We were recommended Confluence by one of our business partner and we switched to Confluence recently. So far, its we find it easy to document whatever we want. There are so many instructional guides and videos to have a better understanding of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't used it extensively as of now and just started to use it. However, I feel it would have been nice to have more advanced user interface. It looks like a basic setup. I will keep on researching though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to have a shared place where people can share their findings, development work with all the colleagues. Its a great place for collaboration. People get notified if a new page or document is added.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please ensure the user notification settings before implementing it for a group. Else, the users would get notifications for each and every little update happening on Confluence.
