Good tool for big companies
What do you like best about the product?
It provide multiple features for different kinds of documentation, e.g. You can draw and upload the flow chart directly on confluence, you can paste the source code in different predefined formats
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very slow sometimes and unable to save the change you have made
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a centralised place to put all the documents together so that people can access or upload the documents at anytime and anywhere
Confusing at first, but useful once you get the hang of it!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to easily make pages it a huge asset.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how confusing and chaotic the system can be when used by a large group of people who aren't all sure they know what they are doing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At our business, we can easily track who uses what as well as seeing what pages people create and we can all work on the same pages together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A video tutorial on use.
Collaborative Documentation Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like having the ability to collaborate with my team members on software documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the latest UI refresh. It's been difficult to get used to. I was upset when the editor changed to wysiwyg only, but I got used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Confluence over the past 8 years or so to collaborate on software documentation. We have used it to track software requirements, including creating "living requirements" documents that change as information is gathered. I rely heavily on the search capability to find what I'm looking for.
I also use Confluence as a very rudimentary repository of sorts. Recently, I've used this to track UI assets.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is vital to the way that I share information with my team.
The Best Collaboration Platform Available!
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is excellent platform for centralizing data, notes, files, web pages, etc, for large research groups. It allows users to add content and create spaces for sub-groups within a larger organization. A user is able to set meeting agendas and tasks and then send out meeting notes.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, Confluence can be very intimidating as it has a lot of features with not a lot of documentation that is built for the novice. While Confluence has tutorials to use, they are not always explicit in how to do things properly (or easily). Also, permissions for public and private pages are somewhat complex and not very easy to find and change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The the problem we are solving is centralizing project material in once spot that is accessible by all group members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once you sign-on to Confluence, it is vital that you go through the nine mini tutorials. These give you the necessary information to start using the basic features of Confluence. Once you get more adept at using Confluence, you will be able to buy add-on features, such as templates and applications.
Seems like the standard these days for wikis
What do you like best about the product?
Good for collaboration. Easy to do simple wiki pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Permissioning is tricky when there are nested permissions between child and parent pages.
Wish there were better options for creating nicer-looking pages.
Also wish there were better spreadsheet handling options.

Also wish there were better spreadsheet handling options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team wikis for requirements and project schedules
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for simple wiki creation and collaboration. Not great for complex document creation. Spreadsheet/table functionality pretty limited, though there may be macros that help. They recently also added Google-docs like features where you can see who else is editing at the same time to avoid collisions, which is very helpful.
Great for Team Projects
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great tool for teams to utilize when working on team projects and cross-functional workstreams. My favorite feature is the tagging feature. This allows particiapants to notify any key players when there is a task or point they should be aware of.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence has so many features and options to be used to satisfy the needs of any project style, which is great. However, this also means there is a great amount of training and alignment necessary in order for teams to effectively use it the way the team intends for it to be used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is allowing my cross-functional team and I to collaborate on a large enterprise project. We don't all physically work in the same location, nor do we have aligned schedules. Confluence allows us to stay engaged, informed, and productive without having to all be in the same place at the same time.
Great way to share your team members roles and backlogs
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Confluence is linked to JIRA. It's great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how we had to remove every document we uploaded because Confluence is not supposed to house documents apparently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to ensure that all of our stakeholders have access to Confluence so they can see our team members, the team mission, and other information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would share your team mission, and DEFINITELY use the confluence calendar to reduce outlook email overload.
Great tool for sharing information
What do you like best about the product?
all information can be easily stored and sorted and shared among all teams which improves the quality of work by all teams having latest information. all our team is very happy with the ease of use and the quality of support they get out of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing as of now, It is meeting all the requirements we have currently, It could do more better if the integration with other project management and content management application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information sharing among teams and documents storage
Recommendations to others considering the product:

How we use Confluence in out firm
What do you like best about the product?
We use confluence as blogging tool. We need to create services for our clients. These services have unique identification number and many other properties. Whenever we need to get details of the service, its hard to go into the service and look for the detail. Confluence has made this task easy. What we do is, we have shared page which is editable by a group of people. Whenever we create new service, we enter details about the service into this confluence page. So we can go into the confluence when we require to see the details of the service. This has made things really very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about confluence is, changes made are immediately reflected. There is no verification process. I feel that there should be some verification process so that to ensure that the changes made are correct. This should be at least a process which involves two people. One person changes the content and other person verifies that changes made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I stated above, I am using confluence as blogging where we create pages with information which we require to access frequently.
Talking about the benefits, the process has made the access to the information easy, efficient in terms to time.
