Good Document Repo
What do you like best about the product?
It's an easy way to consolidate documents/changelogs/documentation etc. The document tree is useful and the pages are easily modified via html.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's tedious to use. I find I prefer making documentation in Google Drive and copying it over to Confluence, which defeats the purpose a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document and plan consolidation.
Vast amount of built in macros to provide various info to different audiences.
What do you like best about the product?
High configurability of the various Spaces and subsequent pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting to know everything which can be done, and best practices for setting them up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing internal documentation across departments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Lots of tools to work with; works great with JIRA.
reasonable tool for sharing info, knowledge base etc
What do you like best about the product?
relatively easy to get up to speed with. good for sharing knowledge base articles and tips. Easy to see who had accessed stuff.
What do you dislike about the product?
can be hard to find what you want at times. too many features available and we only use a few.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
good for collaboration and sharing
Excellent software to organize project planning and execution
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the tool in tweaking and creating the templates to meet business requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be overwhelming for new users at times, but as long as proper expertise is available internally it shouldn't be a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Focusing on project documentation and transition into execution.
Robust and extensible
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Confluence is the different plugins available from both Atlassian and third parties. Confluence is best thought of as a platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wiki markup. Intended to be quick, but not robust enough to be particularly useful. Thankfully, HTML editing is available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal knowledgebase that everyone can contribute to. Having a centralized knowledgebase for work functions ensures that your documentation is up to date and reliable.
Confluence works well for our needs
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows us to have easily searchable documentation that helps our team stayed trained and up to date. We use this tool to write documentation about new product releases so our delivery and support staff can easily reference the pages when they are on the phone with a client. We also hold all our training documents, as well as archive meeting notes and videos here. Several teams also use Confluence to hold documentation about complex processes or workflows that can also be reference points to save valuable time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing and creating pages is difficult and clunky at times. It is also difficult to see the vast documentation as a whole across our whole company rather than in subsections so it is difficult for me to find pages in other domains of the company. When you have several thousand pages in Confluence, the search functionality can be a little rudimentary and frustrating if you do not know the specific keywords of what you are looking for. I also struggle with the basic formatting functionalities and am frustrated with some of the limitations I see on Confluence versus other tools, such as Google docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of companies struggle with keeping information centralized and accessible. Confluence is a good solution as it holds most information in one location, so everybody can access information easily and independently. The new layout is clean and looks modern.
I also appreciate that Confluence allows multiple users to be able to edit a page, so you get the collaborative nature of Google docs.

Some of the templates and creating templates can be kind of a pain. It's also a little frustrating when you try and copy and paste into Confluence you lose formatting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping an open line of communication on all projects. Upcoming and in progress. We also started using it for an internal knowledge base which is great since we can grant read only rights in that specific space.
