It's what you make of it.

What do you like best about the product?
contribute and edit to your liking and easy to access/navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
huge. the more its used the more resources it takes. unless you're on the cloud, and that's not without its own faults, you have to wait a bit once you're fully contributed and just adding info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
training. don't need a know-it-all anymore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
partition by folder option to reduce loading.

Confluence worked alright

What do you like best about the product?
When I used confluence I liked how I would get email alerts whenever someone commented on one of my projects - it made it easy to stay on top of updates even if I couldn't login right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
The chains of comments became very long and unmanageable. It was difficult to keep track of updates within Confluence because the chains were just so long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Confluence as a collaboration tool which allowed us to communicate with one another regardless of where everyone lived.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have found other tools that work better for what I need but it is definitely a basic tool that could help you.

What do you like best about the product?
Users are always notified when a document relative to you is changed - great for project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ui could use some improvement. Relatively easy to use but if I were to notpick could be a bit more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation for software and implementation.

Great for team collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
Really enjoy how easy it is to manage permission, share data, information, and track progress as a company and/or teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the prettiest interface. which is certainly not a huge factor considering the functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to document processes, research and plan out projects, and create workflows all in the same place. By creating team spaces and company pages, we're able to keep everything transparent with everyone on the same page.

Great Platform, Daunting at First Sight

What do you like best about the product?
Spaces are a feature that allow us as a company divide our "wiki" into departments. This allows the flexibility and organization required out of an internal database.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence seems to throw too much at you too fast. As a new employee relying on confluence to inform my decisions on benefits, understand protocols, and other important things it was tough to attune to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized HR documentation, modernizing our internal wiki, and providing visibility to upcoming projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review the interface and ensure it is a good fit for your team.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to work on documents, fairly customization macros . Integration with Jira and a good replacement for MS word's basic functionality. Allows revision history which is useful when comparing edits
What do you dislike about the product?
Font list is quite sparse, better support for images would be good. Sometimes table of contents does not work properly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing of information, co-ordination of technical documents, notification of reviewers

Antiquated Internal Knowledge tool

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has a straight forward interface, no frills, making it relatively easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Organization of the Questions section of the platform made it nearly impossible to easily find or answer questions. Confluence's search function is relatively archaic, if exact phrasing is not used, it won't find what you're looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using confluence was a good stepping stone for a more fully realized internal knowledge tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look for a platform that focuses more fully on creating knowledge bases for internal use. This is an obvious afterthought platform to bundle services to make it tougher to leave them.

I love this tool

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Confluence integrates well with JIRA. it is very easy to use. Navigation through pages and space is really easy. I like comments and Like feature too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation available online is sometime not up to date. Also with more users it gets more expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it to share knowledge across teams in my Project. I no longer have to keep local copies of documents in my Local.

Good place for the team to collaborate

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First and foremost, Confluence has improved our organization of client information. Confluence uses “Spaces” to group pages together and organize content – you can think of it like a top-level folder on your Desktop. Everything in that one folder is related, and this helps keep you organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
The basic problem stems from the fact that Confluence puts both source files and production files on the same platform. This creates difficulties with re-use.

For example, let's say you have a section you want to re-use in two places. We'll call this re-used section "Block A." You probably have a page called “Re-used Blocks” that has Block A, Block B, Block C, and so on, representing other re-used components.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have found Confluence to be an extremely effective tool for client collaboration, document management, project development, internal communication and cross-functional knowledge sharing. Confluence has quickly enabled an organized and efficient structure of information within the company, which in turn has helped us to be more effective and efficient in delivering successful products to our clients.
